They have a good selection of saddles and tack. The sales lady is a little brash and direct even borderline rude. Ok, I can see why people have said she's rude. Dare I say she speaks with no filter, but she knows her sh#t. She's pretty much a no nonsense person. I like that. She said it to us straight. I'd go back there again, it's a drive for us, but I'd do it again read more

I had a great experience at Diamond k saddlery! I went in looking for a roping saddle and was immediately helped with many options! I sat in about 4 different saddles and was also fitted for the correct seat size and stirrup length. Carrie I believe was the woman who helped me, she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She is very straightforward and has a dry sense of humor so if you don't understand people with that type of personality then you're going to take it as her being rude... but she definitely is not! She was more than willing to help and we had a great time with many laughs. She had amazing recommendations for stirrups and breast collars as well. (You get to choose the stirrups you'd like put on) all in all I'm extremely happy and the pricing of the tack is completely reasonable especially for the value of the leather in these saddles. read more

Carrie is brilliant. I have a hard to fit horse (big shoulders in front narrowing to a long sausage in the back ). Diamond K was recommended because of the woman who operates it. I was warned that she could be a little gruff but assured that she knows her $hit. I entered the store a little timidly and got to the point (as instructed by my friends): "I have a horse, hard to fit, can you help?" I was scared, not gonna lie, her reputation precedes her, but she immediately started asking questions, rapid fire, like what do I currently ride in, what's my discipline, what's her breed, what pictures do I have? I showed pictures of my horse and she asked for more, specific angles, how does she move? Do you have video? Etc. After viewing the pics/videos, she chose a saddle she thought would work. I was skeptical but took the saddle on trial. My horse's back and performance have improved 5 fold. Photos for evidence. I would recommend Diamond K to anyone and everyone. The bad reviews are a joke and from people who probably don't understand the importance of good saddle fit or the professionals who actually know what they're talking about. She isn't "gruff or rude" like some posts would have you believe. She's an awesome lady who knows her shit but if you are expecting a mild mannered "customer is always right" experience, move along. read more

I'm giving her a three star because she did have some pretty saddles, I asked her if she had any bullwhips that is what I went in there for. She said they don't have bullwhips and then she said, was I talking about an S and M whip! I said no I was talking about a bullwhip. I like to do tricks with bullwhips, and I was going to buy a new one. I wouldn't buy anything from her. She's crude. I took my grandkids and left. read more

I just spoke to a representative from this business possibly the owner, who was very unprofessional. I called and asked if they had a saddle cleaning service, and she proceeded to ask me if I am handicap. No ma'am, I am not handicap a lot of Seattle stores offer saddle cleaning services. I think God when I go to prime shine to get my vehicle washed, they don't ask me if I'm handicap when I pull up. And I'm also glad when I go to a fast food restaurant they don't ask me if I'm handicap and cannot make my own meals. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and may even contact American disability department in California. I sure hope this Lady gets her act together. Will never do business here, and will recommend to all my family and friends to stay far away. read more

SO MANY CHOICES! A lot of tack to choose from, GREAT prices on Best Ever Pads, customer service is great - very helpful!

I drove over 2 hours to get to Diamond saddlery for the first and last time. Wasn't a great great experience. I'm new to riding horses so I don't have a lot of knowledge of horse gear nor what I should be buying. I came to this store to gain knowledge and purchase good quality gear. The store store was stocked with Quality gear but pricey now that I've done my research. The lady that was in charge running the place is very knowledgeable of the product but lack customer service and came off to me a being rude. She wasn't welcoming when entered store and was very short with me. She loosened up once she noticed that that I was spending a great deal of money in the store being that I have a new horse and was starting from scratch. I'm a person of color so my first thoughts was that she was racist by her interaction with me but I can't say that for sure. What I can say is that her customer service is horrible. Normally I would not have spent my money with someone being this rude to me but being that I traveled such a long distance and I real needed the gear I excepted her nasty attitude I purchased what I need but I will NEVER RETURN NOR REFER ANYONE read more

Diamond K Saddlery - This is the lady that was rude to me - Horse Equipment Shops Near Me - Oakdale, California

My parents traveled to this store ... hoping to have knowledgeable pleasant experience they ended up having a demeaning belittling experience. My father a "new rider " had a few questions and was treated rudely . I will not pull a race card just yet and just leave it to the fact of not fitting in their hIgh expectations of how knowledgeable everyone should be in their eyes . I work in oakdale and suggested to grow business in this small town so they made the drive . I am by far so sorry I did . I hope we can all "make America great again" like they stated they were trying to do .. by helping generate business in small areas such as Oakdale no matter what skin tone , race or ethnicity. I can apologize to my parents for having them have this experience , but what I can't handle is this is not the first situation for them ... I should have yelped them before hand . read more

This lady that runs the place is rude and thinks she knows everything . I was just going to buy reins and look at saddles she told me I was looking at the wrong ones . I never said I was looking for anything in particular . I've tried 3 times thinking she was having a bad day .no she is just rude and hates men . read more

Went in looking for a new saddle. Being relatively new to horses, Kerry spent a lot of time finding the right saddle for me based on my type of riding and she took the time to understand my horses to make sure the saddle was right for them as well. Very happy with the saddle quality and it fits both horses perfectly. A plus, she sold my consigned saddle the same day. I will definitely go back. read more

They carry a lot of tack, but their saddles are highly overpriced for the quality. Also I found one of the clerks to be very much opinionated when her opinions weren't asked for. The place does have an ample amount of tack from bridles, saddle pads, bits, and a huge inventory or saddles tho. read more

Owner very pushy and judgmental. Made for a very uncomfortable experience. Won't go back. Bad experience. Completely agree with other negative reviews. read more

I totally agree with the previous reviewer. I went into Diamond K to ask about selling a saddle on consignment and because I was curious to see what type of inventory they had to offer. The owner was a rude, distracted "know-it-all" that radiated such a negative energy I couldn't wait to leave the store. After we left, my husband looked at me and exclaimed... "Whoa...we're never giving that lady any of our business." I totally agree with him. read more

I went there to get a pair of spurs and spur straps. The lady working was really nice and helpful. She also sized me for a saddle for the near future. read more

I have tried to go to Diamond K numerous times. Although, every time I enter the store I immediately feel like I'm being judged. The two lady's that work in there are ABSOLUTELY rude unless you're rich and ready to spend $5000. So if you're on any type of budget, and when I say budget I mean if you're not looking to spend A LOT then I don't recommend going to Diamond K Saddlery. If you say that you can't spend more than $1000 then they look at you like you're a piece of trash. Great inventory, but gain a better attitude and learn how to talk to people correctly. read more

A big Thank You shout out to Diamond K Saddlery for selling my Cutting Horse Saddle for me. I did not want to have to deal with selling my saddle online myself and having to ship it and dealing with PayPal. I will admit that I was a little apprehensive about leaving my saddle there since all they did was take a photo copy of my Drivers License and I didn't receive any receipt for leaving my saddle there. When I asked about some sort of receipt I was told that's the way they do business so I needed to trust that. They sold it in about a week and it was hassle free. Thanks again, Lisa Popst read more

The instant I walked into the place I felt like I was being evaluated, very strange vibe. We brought a horse in for a fitting, which was prearranged with the store staff. There was absolutely no parking that was safe for a horse. After a few suggestions for finding parking we wound our way around back and parked in the bank parking lot. They are knowledgeable people but rude and could really learn people skills. They also have an enormous selection of saddles. read more

This is a no nonsense operation. Having said that they are VERY knowledgeable experienced folks who can solve most problems and really understand vague descriptions of such. I don't need to get fluffed up so I love the place They have helped where most have failed. read more

Diamond K made my saddle fitting experience so amazing! They really understood my needs and made great recommendations for what saddle I should go with. The lady who helped me treated me and my horse with the upmost respect, and really explained everything she was doing which made me understand the fit better. For the quality of the saddle, the price was UNBEATABLE! I know my new saddle is going to last me a lifetime. THANK YOU DIAMOND K! read more

I have no idea how they have business. The woman there was so rude and loud, the second I walked In I felt bad energy, she digging into asking where we were from, shows bad attitude towards foreigners. Now the door was open when we walked in she rudely asked my boyfriend "did you just come in here!?!" And he answered yes and she raises her voice and said "well than close the door after you" in my opinion that is not how you Speak to a customer. read more

I've went in several times to look at a for my horse. The lady there gave off a feeling like she didn't want you there. I email her about a time to meet with my horse to fit a saddle. When I sent this I didn't realize they were closed for a few weeks. She responded very rudely. When I got that I decided right then and there I would not do business with that shop and I wrote a nice email back say "thank you for your time." I went to a smaller saddle shop and they were the nicest people ever. If you want a good saddle go to Arney's Crow Canyon Saddlery. read more

Initially helped by one staff member who was trying to push only saddles in stock and told us saddles they had to order wouldn't be any better. I give them credit they helped to fit our horse but they were very rude and pushy in all aspects which is the reason we chose not to buy from them. read more

Well...Where do I begin? First off, I've been looking forward to going in to this store and see what items they had in stock. I ride often and I wanted to maybe pick up some spurs, maybe check out some saddles etc. I called and told the lady (I don't even want to remember her name) that I wanted to pick up a lariat just to mess around in the backyard and have a little fun. I'm not a competitive roper nor do I plan on being one. Just think roping is cool and wanted to try it out a bit. Right from the moment I walked in I felt I was being sized up. She asked me if I needed help and I told her I was the one who called about the lariat. She asks me; "What nationality are you?" I responded with; "Why does that matter?" Her answer; "Oh, well a lot of these Mexican/Spanish kids do all that fancy twirling stuff." Mind you... I am of Mexican/Spanish decent. I speak perfect English and I don't look foreign. She then tells me;"Well you are pretty complected!" Wow! She then shows me some of the lariats she had. Again she asked me; "Have you roped at all?" I already told her that I don't know how to rope I just tried a little bit in the past and I just want to do it for fun with my buddies. She then asked; "Who are your buddies. Team ropers?" I said; "No. Just some normal guys who want to have a little fun in the backyard." Ok...now I'm getting a bit flustered here. So she then takes me out in front of the store and hands me the lariat. Again. I'm not a roper! So I start getting a feel for the lariat and she then immediately bursts out and says; "What are you doing? You don't handle a rope like that!" Honestly, I felt not only was I being interrogated, but humiliated at the same time. So I politely gave the lariat back to her and said; "You don't have to be rude mam. I told you I don't know how to rope, I just wanted to have some fun. And then you comment on my complexion?! Now I know where not to come." Unbelievably rude, racist and unprofessional. My money is green, but I guess my skin color isn't up to par. Nor did I think I had to know how to handle a rope according to her standards. What a shame someone who works at a place like this can be so ignorant and disrespectful. Maybe she should put a sign outside that says WHITES ONLY. I really hoped I was going to be treated nicely here. Guess not. read more
