Before Sunrise, I had her enrolled at another facility nearby. Unfortunately, that place was dirty and run down. Many times the bathrooms did not even have toilet paper, and the environment did not feel clean or safe for my elderly mother. It was very concerning. The difference with Sunrise is truly night and day. The facility is very clean, the food is fresh, and they offer more filling meal options. The staff are patient, kind, and very friendly with all of the participants. I especially want to thank the social worker Karen who worked very hard to help me sign up for ACCESS transportation. I was a little disappointed that even though we live close by, Sunrise could not provide transportation for my mom, but I hope that will be possible in the future. Caregiver Jazmine is also amazing. She is very kind and extremely patient with all of the elderly participants. My mom talks about her often, and it makes me feel safe and happy that we found such a wonderful place for her. I do hope they can continue to expand their activities and possibly include more physical therapy and memory games for the participants.
