Dial Instant Printers is a local family-owned commercial printing & graphics company that provides traditional & new print technology with superb customer service & high quality work at competitive/budget-friendly prices. I first worked with Roger Martin, Owner, in 2024 for my managers' Lunar New Year card in the Year of the Dragon. My manager switched print shop but also one that they used before: Dial Printers in Manhattan Beach. We corresponded by emails & phone calls to execute 250 cards (family photo in the front with well wishes on the back) & 250 envelopes with the return address printed in the same font as the message. The original artwork was simple, & Roger provided feedback to elevate & execute my manager's vision, adding some oomph with red foil on the dragon & 2024 year on a heavier card stock without increasing the initial quote by much. Fast forward to 2025, I wasn't sure if the LNY family card would happen since I reminded my managers that Lunar New Year moved up a few weeks to late 01/2025. It was decided last weekend that they were going to design a card. What!?! Yikes!! The eldest daughter created this year's LNY card (Year of the Snake) & delivered it Monday night; this year's family pic was more casual than their professional photos in years past. I emailed & followed up with a call on T, 01/21 if it's remotely possible for Dial Printers to execute 250 cards & 250 envelopes (without the return address & no foil work) -- keep it simple & deliver by COB F, 01/24. According to Yelp, their hours are a straight 9-to-5, & we were texting past 9:00 PM. Roger & team were able to complete the job within 24-hours after my text approval. They probably didn't start production until W, 01/22 & I picked up the cards on Th, 01/23, around 11:00 AM. Wowza! There was leftover heavier card stock from another project that he upgraded this order for the same price! The LNY cards looked & felt more regal. Grateful for the early delivery, this gave me plenty of time to prep the cards for mailing the next day. However, it was too good to be true. Why? There was a slight shortage (~6%; 9 recipients without a card, including the extras count) so I was unable to send a handful of them. I immediately notified Roger Friday late afternoon, & asked if he can make-up the shortage by the LNY Eve. He was able to make-up the difference + extras (10 sets) for this printing glitch by the morning before Lunar New Year. I picked up the cards & envelopes shortage, & sent out the balance of the cards by late morning; the stamps will be postmarked before LNY. Yasss! This is important in Chinese custom: don't be late!! Yes, there was a minor hiccup; however, Dial Printers did everything they could to make up for their mistake. I've been cleaning up the file cabinets & found previous LNY cards... I can see the changes in design & card types, added details, & workmanship over the years. Under normal timing (7 - 10 business days lead time), there have been no errors, & Roger's been generous to pad the order with extra cards & envelopes. His prices are competitive & more than fair IMO, so the family returns annually to work with him. Dial Instant Printers has excellent service, delivering a quality product with a quick turnaround time at a very reasonable price. The only downside is there are no weekend hours, but Roger does a thorough job of keeping us posted on the production status & may deliver earlier than the anticipated date... that's what I call excellent customer service! Roger is as good as it gets when it comes to working with a printer. What people need to do is to decide why they're there. Dial Printers does both print work and design work, and I hear their design work is excellent also. As a printer you run into issues of files not coming their way with right settings so you learn to adjust and adopt to your customers. They are color designers and experts. They are supposed to know their colors and how they would come out differently on different paper, different press, different methods etc. And that, folks, is what Dial Printers does well. First off, Roger doesn't fool around when it comes to what can and cannot be done. Often times customers (often times designers with their last minute print needs) are in a rush to get things done, whether it's their own procrastination or due to clients from hell, it happens. Roger will tell you flat out that it cannot be done in that period of time. What he will tell you is that he *may* be able to get a rush job done. These are the time you should be grateful that he is in fact able to get the job done. NOT complain about how he didn't do a great job. IF YOU GIVE THEM THE PROPER TIME AS YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO, HE WILL DO A BETTER JOB! Bottom line. Like I said, Roger is a great guy and he will go extra miles to make things work for you. Somewhat challenging to spot from the street, Dial Printers makes up for in service, speed, professional attention to detail and making customer satisfaction one of their top priorities. Simple street parking is conveniently located in front, on Sepulveda Boulevard. However, it should be noted there are restrictions during certain periods of the day. Although, around the block, (almost behind the shop) there is a medium sized parking lot--just a little hike away. Services include: high-quality (resolution) full color custom printing from brochures, newsletters, catalogs, flyers, booklets, envelopes and business cards. Additionally, a variety of sign options, banners, lettering and design services (however, I'm almost positive that I've missed a few services--they offer quite a few). Dial Printing also offers recycled stocks and soy based inks for those who are interested beyond the normal commercial printing options. Pricing is about what one would expect for a custom printer and design service. To be certain, one could try some of the online deals or use one of the (purple, blue, orange and green) big box printers, while receiving competitive pricing schedules. However, the difference and the deal maker is the level of expertise, professionalism, flexibility, creativity, quality control, and options. Simply stated--a design team to work on individual needs that go above and beyond expectations because they have a passion for what they do. They provide options and creative solutions through out the process and it's in these small details that set Dial Printers above the rest. Overview: For this review, services that were used were designing a business card layout for an original logo design. Roger and Teresa created a look, utilizing an existing logo, while making a unique layout that represents our group. Additionally, they kept us on budget and offered many special options at a cost effective and inexpensive route, *without* all the up sell hassles. I needed some certificates printed by a printer that can do offset printing so, of course, I choose one that had good yelp reviews. Roger was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about what needed to be done to do the job. However, they seem to have had trouble getting my order right. After a number of tries and taking a couple of weeks longer than promised, they finished the job. At this point most yelpers would expect me to say I wouldn't use them again but that would not be the case. Yes, at times I had my suspicions that they may be totally f'd up but not one time during the process did they shy away from their obligation to do a good job. They in fact always apologized and admitted that it was their fault. They tried hard and I know they had to reprint the certificates at least a couple times. They were also so friendly and upbeat that you couldn't help but give them the benefit of the doubt. 3 stars but I bet they could move up to 4 or 5 by next tryl Next time? I need to get business cards done in just a few days for a business trip. All the other printing shops that I talked to were going to charge me a significant extra fee for the rush order. I talked with Roger, and we were able to arrange a much better deal at Dial Printers. Even though he did the work very fast, it was still very professional. He sent me images of the cards to approve before he printed them. DP delivers quality work, they work fast, and they give that extra bit of customer service when I was in a jam. I used this printer for the 2nd time and it did not go well. I needed to have two posters printed for a design project for school. I went in on a Mon. and was told I couldn't have it done until Wed. but if I wanted to wait until Thurs., it would be a better deal. So I opted for Thursday. On Thurs., I hadn't heard from Roger so I called and he said he would check on it and call me back. He never called back. I called again Fri. morning and he said it would be there by 3:00. I was in a hurry when I picked up the posters so I didn't notice until I got home that they were printed on a gloss paper instead of matte like I asked for and one of the posters was cropped off about an inch, cutting off the design. By this time, they were closed, so I sent Roger an email letting him know that not only were the posters a day late, they were on the wrong paper and 1 had the design cropped off. He never replied to the email. So basically, I paid $105 for 2 posters that I had to have reprinted somewhere else. read more

So... I was a hot mess when I found this place. I had called around a few places in the south bay looking for a deal and for someone to HELP ME. I'm pretty sure I was stuttering, I hadn't had a decent meal in days and my brain was completely fried. Come to think of it, I don't think I even wore clean clothes because laundry was piled up. Not only did I need a sign printed SUPER RUSH but I needed help with the concept, color choice, touch-up, placement.. basically all Roger and his team had to work with were a few photos I supplied and a bunch of mumbo jumbo rambling on my end. EVERYTHING about this place was great; from the initial call--which Geiner picked up, inquiring about prices and such, to the time it took for Roger to call me back, the first conversation with him, the actual meeting, the proofing-- and I'm not even talking about the actual sign yet.. Well, they have the sign ready an HOUR before I asked for it, like seriously the timing was so tight I even had a time on the day I needed the sign by.. AND IT WAS AWESOME!!! I spent alot of time looking for a printer that printer that followed ethical pratices (that is, using recycled paper and recycled inks, which are both common no-brainers in the marketplace, so I figured they would be common with printers too right? wrong). Dial was the only printers that even slightly cared about the environment. I was hesistant to go there thought because they were a solid 40-minute drive from my house and I passed by probably 10-20 other printers before I got to Dial. But I said hey, I'll try it just in case. The staff there is the great example of what GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE IS. They will absolutely go out of their own way to give you the best product you can possibly get, even if, yes, that means they think you may get better results somewhere else. Just hearing that should convince you to go there. I've taking the 40 minute drive to Dial Printers several times now and I'll continue to do it, and I still pass by 10-20 other printers on my way there and I'm yet to regret it. read more

I called Dial printers in a total rush --I forgot to print an important proposal for a big meeting That was scheduled In one hour. Roger said he could have it ready for me no problem and said I could email it over and they would have it for me to pick-up in 30 Minutes. When I arrived, early, the proposal was already waiting for me and he'd even fixed a minor color issue that he noticed. The proposal looked amazing and I was beyond impressed! But the biggest kicker--I didn't have the $3.50 in cash need and Roger told me I could just pay him next time.
