Have gone here for years but this time I contracted a yeast infection. The machine was set where it pitched my left breast and evidently that's where the yeast entered into my system and I now have a bacterial infection. I had to go to my physician and now on antibiotic cream and pills. They must be thorough on cleaning everything on that machine between people or things like this happen. The front desk ladies are great. Very disappointed this time. Will not go back. read more

First the care was wonderful. The clinician took great care of me and made me feel very comfortable during an uncomfortable imaging. Now results were within a few minutes so that was also great. Scheduling was difficult and the employees scheduling on the phone do not seem knowledgeable or willing to help. The office is NOT hippa compliant with their sign in sheet with everyone's names out in the open. Small bibles laid around the office was very strange and uncomfortable. 8am appointment was taken back close to 9am. Four stars for how great the clinician was in making me comfortable. read more

I cannot believe that this location doesn't possess all 5 stars in patient reviews. I've been using this location (I've actually had scans at every location this organization has) for over 20 years now. I don't go anywhere else for my imaging needs. Even my insurance prefers my using them because they're fair regarding imaging charges. My private pay Humana actually pays for all my imaging costs here at 100% in comparison to the $250.00 copay my Healthcare plan charges me when I have the exact same imaging performed elsewhere - including my hospital of choice. This organization has ALWAYS been kind and understanding when trying to fit me in their busy schedule anytime my doctors order multiple scans for me. They have always tried hard to work me in when scheduling for multiple imaging studies so that I can do them all during the same visit/trip. As far as staff is concerned, EVERYONE (sans one or two techs) over the past 20 years, have been nothing but STELLAR employees. ALWAYS considerate, friendly, and caring, while still maintaining a professional demeanor. You can tell they like what they do and enjoy working there. It's obvious they all know what they're doing, and appear to do their duties well. They are time conscious, yet do not rush you thru as to make you feel uncomfortable about the time. And, remember when I mentioned there may have been a couple techs that were less than pleasant to deal with over the past 20 plus years? Well, if it weren't for those two, and others like them (which are unavoidable in large organizations with multiple locations) this business would have a perfect record. The two techs I had referred to were just kind of hasty, abrupt, unfriendly, and seemed to care less whether you were there or not... being a bit aloof and cold. Those are unfortunately the very people that cause bad reviews and bad feelings for their patients. Fortunately for this business, it's obvious they do a good job in training their technicians; and they seem to have a good philosophy were customer service and treatment standards matter greatly. This place is ALWAYS extremely clean and neat; including and especially the bathrooms and treatment areas. I HIGHLY recommend Diagnostic Imaging Centers for a higher standard of patient care who employ thorough Radiologists that you can feel assured about correctly reading your imaging studies. Twice I've had Mammograms where the tech returned saying the Radiologist felt the need to order an additional sonogram for suspicious areas (quickly completed right then before you leave so you don't have to wait an entire weekend or so worrying needlessly) that he or she felt that the areas in question needed a further evaluation for the sake of safety and thoroughness. This makes me feel secure in knowing they don't take chances by risking patients lives. They take the time to read your images carefully, and provide you extra care when needed. read more

From the time I walked in the door, Linda D. at the front desk was amazing and patient with me! She made me feel more comfortable and at ease. I have anxiety, and trust me it showed! She was very helpful and I appreciate that because I don't get that often. I usually get the opposite. But Linda D. at the front desk was an angel and help me with everything I needed to check-in and make sure that the dicdocto who needed to get the reports, wete to get them after my exam! Thank you Linda D. at the Independence, MO office on arrowhead drive! You are an angel to the public and definitely me! Then when I went back to get my exam, Sarah in x-ray also was wondering! She was calming, knowledgeable, called me back in a timely manner, explained what exam was ordered, asked the right questions and just had a calming and ease about her that you usually don't get these days. I immediately had to put in a positive review because everybody always wants to put in negative things about places. But not this place, not these ladies. I just want to thank Sarah and Linda D. For putting my anxiety to rest and being so pleasant and making my experience at Diagnostic Imaging in Independence Missouri amazing. You two are definitely in the right profession, which is with the public, because you two are amazing and also amazing with people! Don't be mislead. Make sure you get it in writing. I had a mammogram and they said they had to do a second one and had me sign a form. The person who took me back said it shouldn't be more than $75 dollars. Instead, they billed me 149.21. read more

I give this place 0 stars!!!!! HORRIBLE ! Was told my mammogram had abnormalities and I needed more testing from an oncologist. Everything was fine. I was stuck with a huge bill and my physician told me to never let them schedule me for more testing. I then had to go for an ultrasound to check for diverticulitis. I was sent the bill, I even overpaid it by 7 dollars. I started getting calls from a collection agency!!!! This was after they cashed my check!!!!! I had to deal with the collection agency for 2 months and 2 days ago received another bill for this same treatment!!! I have now sent them an email this morning with copies of the cashed check. I, too, had a very bad experience with this imaging center. No stars from me, but this site makes me choose a rating in order to post. In reality, no stars from me at all!! Unable to get results, yet I was billed for the mammogram. My insurance did not pay because "Claim filed after 6 months". Come on. I have to pay because Diagnostic Imaging failed to submit a timely claim...plus I did not get receive a review of the mammogram. I give NO STARS! This place did my one diagnostic mammogram that turned into another test they said I needed. Then another. Then I was sent on my way saying I was fine. They were supposed to send report to my doctor in Texas. Nope. So I had to go hunting for it. They sent it wrong. So then hey sent an addendum and the. ANOTHER! They couldn't get it right. So now it turns out they require MORE testing on me once comparing to my 2007 mammogram and ultrasound. Would have been nice to know. Then they said, weeks ago, that they would send all tapes and images from 2007 and this past June to my radiologist. Nope again! So I get the bill. It's been over a month and I still don't know if I have cancer! So I call them and they said I they can't send my old tapes from to my place here In Texas when I was told they would be send too. Nothing at all got sent! Then they said I had the services so I have to pay my bill. The only service provided was actually taking images! Now I have to repeat them because you can't even get my results and my images here! I'm now curious if they said I needed extra tests just so they could bill me! Jerks! So, here's the deal with the Independence location. My tech was awesome! Her supervisor was great, front desk was fine as far as I remember. Billing was a NIGHTMARE. I was told THREE times when I called to check, double check & triple check that PREVENTATIVE would be FREE/Covered. No one asked me at check in what type of Bone scan I wanted but I mentioned to tech several times it was PREVENTATIVE. Instead, I was billed for MEDICAL & charged through my Deductible. WRONG! I called my Insurance FIVE times, my insurance called my Dr to call Diagnostic (DI) Imaging to hopefully rectify. On my FIFTH call to Insurance I was advised that DI NEVER recodes claims BUT that the Dr could TRY (the rep probably shouldn't have disclosed that) My Dr had, over the months, refaxed the order twice & has called or written twice, no change. I have called DI 3 or 4 times, been told once it would be sent to be 'considered' for recoding AND I went to the desk at the Mur-Len location in my Dr's building with a copy of the order in hand (My Dr won't be recommending this company again, I bet!) & when the receptionist called to try & help me I could hear the Coding Dept yelling through the phone to the extent that she had a very upset expression on her face like SHE was in trouble & had to hold the phone away from her ear it was SO Loud...& I COULD HEAR THEM AS WELL! Nice, very Nice business behavior, isn't it? Yelling at an internal employee for asking a simple question? I guess the Coding Dept is running the show, maybe even the entire company! At any rate, to satisfy my curiosity I looked at the 'menus' of services at a number of Radiology clinics throughout the US for a reality check on PREVENTATIVE Bone Scans to make sure that it is a real thing & I easily found a dozen throughout the country that offer them as well as North Kansas City Hospital. And NKC Hospital also told me, in both the Radiology & in Billing Departments, that they would be glad to update a patient's claim to reflect the correct codes as in my case with being billed for MEDICAL when it should have been PREVENTATIVE. Why sign up for a NIGHTMARE with Diagnostic Imaging when you can patronize a professional company that treats you fairly? read more

I give Diagnostic Imaging a ZERO, due to the fact that my Oncologist ordered an MRI of the spine to see if there is Cancer. I had Cancer in 2012 and have recently had numbness in my leg along with other symptoms. I have been waiting 6 days for my Appt and the afternoon before my MRI, I received a call from Diagnostic Imaging stating that I would need to bring the remainder of my deductible, $780 or I could not have my MRI. Apparently as of last year, they no longer bill patients or take payments. You have all the money upfront, or no test. I quote what they have written on their website "We physicians, techs and staff of DIC PA, put our patients at the center of our focus. Our six clinics (and a mobile unit) provide transparent pricing and at 30-60 percent less cost than hospitals, lower pricing ensures increased patient access. When it comes to healthcare, price should never be a barrier." Well, that is a bunch of CRAP! read more

I recently had my very first mammogram ever at Diagnostic Imaging in Indep, MO. I've been here before and never had any issues until my mammogram. I am 41 and was way overdue for a mammogram, but I was scared because my step-mom died in her early 50's of breast cancer. So, you can imagine the stigma this had for me. This past Tuesday I had a pelvic ultraound and mammogram. I was never told that the pelvic ultrasound would include a vaginal ultrasound, until I got into the room. So, the tech pulls out this wand and advises me how to insert it, but what she didn't tell me was that there would be a lot of pressure, which could cause pain, and I was already having discomfort and pain in that same area. Anyway, I was in pain after the vaginal ultrasound. So, the tech takes me back to the area where I'm supposed to have the mammogram. She hands me a folded up gown and shows me to the very small waiting/changing room. I took off my clothing and unfolded this 'gown', whcih turns out to be this cape with a button in the front. Like I said, first mammogram, and I had no idea if I even had this cape on correctly. The next tech knocks on the door, and I told her I wasn't sure if I had the cape on correctly. She tells me that it's just a cape with a button in the front and rolls her eyes to the floor. I told her this was my first mammogram and the person before her didn't tell me how to put it on and I felt exposed on both sides. She had no empathy, just, well I can get you another cape. Because I was in pain, extremely frustrated, and ready to get it over with I told her I just wanted to get this over with. She tells me she'll get the room ready and come back, and I said ok, and was shutting the door, when she says, is there a problem? I told her yeah, there's a problem, you rolled your eyes at me when I asked about having the cape on correctly. She said, well I told you I'd get you another one. I told her I just wanted to get this over with. We do the first 4 set of pictures, and it was fine. I go back to this tiny changing room and wait. When the tech comes back to the room she doesn't even knock, she walks right in. She tells me the dr wants another set of pics taken. I follow her into the room and she begins telling me how to sit my arm and breast, and then upbruptly says, oh these pics will be a separate billing to your insurance please sign here. Of course I did because apparently they need to be taken. So, after this set of pics I go back to the waiting area. I'm reading the literature on the wall and it explains there may be a separate charge for the second set of pics, but to check with your insurance to see if it's covered. I didn't even get a chance to do that! The same tech comes back, still walks right in, and says the dr wants a sonogram done on my right breast. The tech who did the sonogram was great. No issues there, but after having the sonogram I'm waiting in this tiny little room and a dr and another woman appear. The dr begins telling me that I have an obstruction in my right breast and it needs to be biopsied. He repeated himsel because clearly the look on my face told him I'm shocked. So, I find out the news while standing inside this tiny room and the dr is standing in the hall way. What an uncaring way to tell someone this info! No one explained anything to me! I spoke to the director, Lynda, and she gave me a couple of empty apologies, but that's it. I decided to ask for monetary compensation and of course that was denied. So, I'm telling everyone I can NOT to go to Diagnostic Imaging in Indep, MO. Their techs can be cold, and uncompassionate, not to mention the lack of information given to me, and the cold way I was given my news. read more
