We were happy with the care she received, that's why we brought her back again. First of all, it's a very clean facility, small and personal, but most of all great staff. The nurses my Mom had were professional & helpful. The CNA's were amazing. The ones I will mention were the very best. Mario, Smile, Rain, and one special CNA on swing shift named Michelle. Jessica on the weekends was also an excellent help with my Mom, Nursing director Teri was extremely helpful, always available to help. Vanessa social worker was also fantastic at assisting with so much. The physical therapists & occupational therapists were also great. I hope my Mom never has to go back, but if she ever did, Legacy would surely be our number 1 pick. Much love & thanks to the staff. I was sent to Legacy for nursing and physical therapy services, following Spinal Surgery. This…read morefacility was clean. The frontline staff was professional, kind, and engaging. However, I experienced a lack of preparation, an absence of communication, and a failure to reorder necessary medications --on multiple occasions. These negative aspects of my time at the Legacy stemmed from the Administration's systemic failure. Administration provided no orientation or introduction to the facility. Thus, I had no knowledge of visiting hours, food menus, or any patient rules. I did not even know there was an onsite Social Worker until the last week of my 5 week stay. I had to track her down to find out if administration had a discharge plan for me. I was initially provided a wheel chair with no foot rests and a bed with no arm rests. This was at a time when I was non ambulatory. Eventually, these medical items were provided. Still., when the facility ran out of my two heart medications (needed 2x a day) I wasn't told til the time I was to receive them that they ran out and had not yet reordered. It took 24 hours to get these medicines. All in all, my review of the Legacy is mixed.. I think if the Administrators strengthened themselves into a team that promoted clarity and transparency to their patients/clients this would be a very good facility. Patricia McGuire Lopas

Having had very negative experiences with other local facilities in the past, we were honestly terrified to trust another rehab center. Thankfully, several people recommended Tampico, and what a difference this facility was. From the moment we walked in, the building felt clean, welcoming, and well cared for. Every staff member greeted us warmly and treated my mom with dignity and compassion during one of the most vulnerable times of her life. Her care team was wonderful. Her CNAs were Helen, Marie, and Romel. Her PTs were Mimi, Deepika, and Nicole, and her OT was Aarti. Her absolute favorites were Helen, Emiliano, and Aarti. The therapy team pushed her in all the right ways while also taking time to educate our family and encourage my mom throughout recovery. When my mom arrived, she could not even sit up independently. By discharge, she had improved dramatically and was strong enough to transfer to John Muir's intensive rehab program, which prior she didn't qualify for due to her level of weakness. Most importantly, we never once felt like her needs were ignored. The staff consistently responded with kindness, patience, and professionalism. The facility truly felt like a home away from home while still providing excellent rehabilitation care. The only complaint my mom had was the food, especially the fish meals, but she is also a very picky cook-from-scratch person. We are incredibly grateful to the entire Tampico team and would absolutely recommend this facility to families looking for compassionate, quality rehabilitation care.

I was truly impressed by how kind, compassionate, and attentive she was. She treated my godmother with so much patience, dignity, and genuine care. I waited outside as she got her ready for physical therapy, I quietly observed and It was clear that she takes pride in her work and truly cares about the residents she looks after. As a family member, seeing someone provide that level of kindness and respect meant so much to me. I visited about two weeks ago, and her kindness really stayed with me. CNAs have such an important and demanding job, and I wanted to take a moment to recognize someone who is clearly doing it with her heart. Our family had serious safety concerns during my mother's stay at Rossmoor Post Acute. She was…read moreextremely weak and a known fall risk, yet at one point she was placed in a wheelchair without proper leg support. When staff attempted to move her, our family had to physically hold her legs up because she was unable to do so herself. We eventually had to ask staff to locate the proper leg rests. We also had concerns about fall prevention. My mother had been trying to get out of bed, yet when we asked about an alarm-equipped bed, we were told one would need to be ordered. When we asked what could be done in the meantime, staff had to locate a floor mat. There were also delays in responding to changes in her condition. She was complaining of feeling sick and being in pain, and it took more than 24 hours for a chest X-ray to be obtained. Our family repeatedly advocated for imaging and bloodwork to be made STAT. Her condition ultimately worsened and she had to be transferred back to the hospital. I understand that skilled nursing facilities care for medically complex patients, and a hospital transfer does not by itself mean a facility did something wrong. My concern is specifically about what our family personally witnessed leading up to that transfer: significant weakness, complaints of feeling sick, wheelchair safety concerns, fall-prevention measures that did not appear readily available, delays in diagnostic testing, and how much family advocacy it took to get attention to those concerns. I shared these concerns on another review platform. The facility responded, but the response did not address the specific incidents we described or explain what corrective action was taken. Families entrust facilities with people they love during some of their most vulnerable moments. Based on our experience, I strongly encourage families to be present, ask questions, understand the care plan, and advocate closely whenever something does not seem right. Our experience at Rossmoor Post Acute is why I am giving this facility one star.

The deciding factor was simple but important: Rossmoor felt like a true medical care facility, while the other location felt more like a modern senior or retirement center. Given my father's condition, he needed real medical care--not just a nice environment--and Rossmoor clearly fit that need. From the very beginning, the level of service exceeded my expectations. Steve Stock, the General Manager, was outstanding. He gave me his mobile number and told me to text him anytime if something came up. That alone speaks volumes. I did my best not to reach out unless it was truly necessary, but whenever I did, he addressed every issue promptly and thoroughly. Not a single request was missed. I honestly don't know how he stays so organized, but he does--and it shows. One thing that really mattered to us was consistency with medications, and Rossmoor delivered. All medications were always administered correctly and on time, without exception. That level of reliability brought a lot of peace of mind. The food was also decent--better than expected for a medical facility--and whenever there was an opportunity to make things a little better or more comfortable, the staff consistently went the extra mile. The staff across the board were excellent. Every single person we interacted with was professional, kind, and clearly well trained. Special thanks to nurses Nadia, Carly, Roxanne, Marielle, and Gia--each one was outstanding and made a difficult time much easier for our family. The PT and OT staff were also fantastic--thank you Erica for your patience and care. Thanks to the laundry staff and the front desk team as well; their work doesn't go unnoticed. The bad: the policies and practices here are awful. I made meal requests to multiple people about my dietary concerns, and got absolutely no response from management. Nobody informed me about the program to made me healthy again. I was kept in the dark, and found out they planned to keep me for a month, even though the only reason I was there was to improve my legs. It felt like a prison, where you're kept in a confined space. My wife had to come and take me out of there covertly. That's why I said the policies and practices suck.

I asked her eye drops and a Tylenol and I was told by the nurse tonight that she wasn't going to give it to me for whatever reason! I told her I was in pain and she said no. I'm signing myself out I can't be here. I've had no care. The food is awful I have diarrhea. I've had no attention I got antibiotics for my kidney infection so I'll take the antibiotics on the prescription with me home. I have no products to take care of myself and no clean clothes. This place is a monster prison. There been three people that even talk kindly to me. The staff has been abusive verbally and emotionally I believe they are delighted to be evil and cause people pain. I need to accept that people work with the elderly to dump their anger. So tired of this place.

Through their dedication, patience and persistence, he was able to sit up, stand and walk - things he couldn't do when we first arrived. With their help my husband was accepted into the Acute Rehabilitation Unit. An amazing blessing! We spent a month and a half with this wonderful group, during that time the nursing staff, CNAs and executives Cam & Tim were consistently welcoming and helpful. It felt like a family setting.
