Great place for recovery. All of the staff and volunteers have experience in recovery, and this social model based program uses the 12 step program of AA and NA as the primary tool for recovery. They support up to 40 adult men at one time, split between four houses. Each resident is assigned ranch duties and house chores. There are 5 to 6 hours of class each day with breaks in between. This place really makes you work for your recovery, but it's worth it. The gold standard in Contra Costa County.

These guys understand urgency, and realize that life can change in a flash and are there to help as quickly as possible. Well established in the Los Angeles area, people seeking assistance in the Easy Bay should reach out to 24Hr HomeCare for a dose of relief. From the first phone call, they are willing to listen to your needs and desires, and will actually take into account exactly what you are looking for. Whether it be a one-time deal to get to and from a doctor's appointment, or just inquiring about homecare and the types of services it can provide, these people will answer all questions and perform all duties with a smile to go along with it. Better yet, they actually take the time to give back to the community they serve, as well as meet all caregivers prior to have them working with a loved one. Highly recommend giving these guys a call, day, night, weekend, or holiday. I guarantee someone will always have the time to talk with you, and help you in anyway possible.

I had to make several scheduling changes due to my mother's changing care needs and the care coordinators were able to accommodate. There was one time that they could not find a caregiver and did provide phone. I would say that the majority of the caregivers that they sent out were competent and my mom really liked them. The rest did not interact with my mom and just sat in the chair, saying nothing. One caregiver watched TV the entire night she stayed with my mom. I let the agency know and I asked them not to send those caregivers again. I was glad that we had access to caregivers but I think I may try to use another caregiver company if the need arises.

I have worked for similar companies and have found that the staff, from the owner on down, seem to consistently lack the personal touch and genuine compassion that I see in the owners and care staff at AHC. AHC is a small, family owned business with the motto, "Treating Your Family as We Would Our Own" and it really it does say it all, they truly do treat each client with the utmost respect and personalized care that they would a family member. They also exceeded my expectations when it came to their home care aides. All staff are carefully screened with criminal and DMV record checks, They are also bonded and insured, but beyond that, AHC really takes the time to match a client with the perfect caregiver to meet their needs. As you walk into the office you can't miss the "Wall of Thanks" which is a collage of letters and notes sent to AHC from clients and their families. Photos and thank yous and dozens of "we don't know what we would have done without you" messages adorn the wall and it really gives me a great feeling knowing that I am working for a company that has done so much to help others and continues to do so.

I am delighted to say that AHC has changed her life in a really positive way. The caregiver who helps my aunt is wonderful - kind, patient, and understanding. Rey, who is in charge of communications, is extremely helpful and professional and great to work with. I can't believe how lucky we were to find AHC, and I give them my very highest recommendation.

I talked to my doctor, the wonderful John Madej, and he quickly recommended Caring Hands. I did some research, and their pricing came in slightly better than other caregiving firms in the area. When I called, owner Scott Stanley quickly offered to come over and look at my home to see what kinds of challenges I might be faced with post-op. I was very impressed with this, especially since I was only asking for 24 hours of care. He came and checked out my home, then he assigned a worker he thought would be perfect for my needs. On the day I left the hospital, he and I texted back and forth a bit to ensure we'd both arrive at my place at about the same time. I was impressed that he showed up with the caregiver, and even more impressed that he offered to go to the grocery store to pick up any groceries for me that I might have neglected to beforehand. The caregiver, CJ, did indeed turn out to be perfect for my needs. She's a young gal, but had LOTS of experience as a caregiver. As it turns out, her mother and grandmother are also caregivers. CJ went through the house and made sure things were in easy reach so I wouldn't have to bend down to pick anything up. She was there when I needed her, but she was quietly doing her own thing when I didn't. Overall, a fantastic experience. I really trusted Caring Hands from the first moment I met Skott Stanley. If you're in need of in-home care, I highly recommend this firm.

I googled Hospice and came across MD Choice that had some good reviews. I had no idea who I was calling but there had to have been some divine intervention pushing me to this call and this company. After a few questions I received a call from Dr De Leon who was the most compassionate and caring doctor I have come across. He sensed my immediate need, came straight out to the house, assessed my mother and went himself to the pharmacy to pick up the needed medications. He knew the urgency and took it upon himself to do all the footwork. He obtained the needed comfort medication, stabilized my mother and allowed my mother to pass peacefully all within a matter of hours from making that initial call. When she did pass that evening, he again, arranged for everything from the pronouncing to the calls according to the pre-arrangements. Without MD Choice and the connection with Dr De Leon, I don't know how I would have been able to handle the situation. His immediate response on a Sunday, his Taking control of the situation and quick actions made such a difference in the final few hours my mother had. If you find yourself in a situation like this and needing someone to help in this time, I highly recommend MD Choice and Dr De Leon. I am forever grateful to MD Choice and Dr De Leon for acting so quickly and with such caring and love in this terrible time of need. We really can't recommend them highly enough!
