By few the worst packaging delivery service I've ever experienced. I ordered a product and sche my delivery date for Thursday, September 19, 2024 and DHL kept changing the delivery date attempting to deliver my package on Monday. When the delivery guy called, I informed him that my package was scheduled to be delivered on Thursday. He said "this is my route so I'll be the one to drop it off again." On Tuesday, I had to reschedule the delivery AGAIN on the DHL website for Thursday. On Tuesday, I received another notification via text and email that my "package would be delivered today" -- what??? I was fed up. I immediately called DHL to file a complaint and spoke with a representative who informed me she would fix the issue. The email I received from her/DHL stated "As requested, no signature is required for this shipment" and my pack would be delivered on 9/19/2024. On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, I received ANOTHER notification via email and text that my package would be delivered TODAY. Then another notification via email and text immediately after that notification that they were unable to deliver the package. Honestly, I don't think they tried. DHL normally calls me when they're trying to deliver a package or need me to open the door. NO ONE CALLED. I immediately called DHL AGAIN for the second time to file another complaint and have the package delivered on the ORIGINAL date on 9/19/2024. The guy was passive and pretended to care about my birthday being ruined by their incompetence. At this point, I don't trust this company to deliver anything else. Have a time sensitive package that was coming in from overseas, firstly they didn't let us know about an import duty on it. Then it was supposed to be delivered the Friday, but after calling them they said that in fact it will be Monday, and I asked for a confirmation. Monday I called to confirm, and all seemed fine, till I refreshed my tracking page on DHL a little later to see it hasn't shipped and was on hold. Called and got told "there was nothing they could do", then called customer care at 2, who said a manager would call me in 90 minutes. I got a call just before 6 that evening which I missed. Not living up to "Express" or the money that was paid for shipping. Called tuesday morning, and got another stupid excuse about a duty fee, which was utter nonsense. Absolutely the worst company. I called my vendor and explained that if DHL was ever used to ship my items, we would no longer be doing business together. Time sensitive packaged arrived in the states in Cincinnati on a Monday. Needed the package by Friday for an event in PA. Package moved to New York and was put on hold for a couple of days and then to Baltimore and again placed on hold. I call customer service because it was evident the package would not make the deadline and asked for it to be held in Baltimore for pick up because I would be traveling right past BWI on my way to PA from the Eastern Shore of MD for the event. They said it could not be held there because it now had to go to Washington DC then back to Baltimore but would be available on Saturday . No explanation there. DC and Baltimore are close so I asked to pick it up in DC on Friday and they said yes not a problem. Friday comes and Im traveling to PA from the Eastern Shore planning a pit stop in DC. l check the tracking and it says the package is still in Baltimore. I called and the rep said there was no guarantee the package would arrive in DC so I asked to talk to a Supervisor. The sup called me back and said that the package was actually in Delaware. That worked better for me so I asked to pick it up there. The sup said yes, gave the address and said she would confirm with the location and call me back in less than an hour. You guessed it, that call never came. I traveled to the address given and found that it was an empty storefront. Nothing there. Totally empty building. I called again and the rep said the package was in Deleware but at a location that did not allow pickups. Now I know why the sup never called back. Well now the deadline has been missed so I asked to just have it delivered to the original address. I was assured it would be delivered Monday. Monday comes and no package. Check tracking on Tuesday and it said the package had left Baltimore, was back in Ohio enroute to Washington DC. Later in the day I check again and its now in DC. Of course im calling again and the recording says GOOD NEWS...my package is ready for pick up at the Washington DC facility. You cant make this up! I called again and rep said it was there but put me on hold. She came back and said there was a note to deliver the package to the original address but she had no idea when it would arrive and there was no local number to call. If I wanted it right away I would have to travel to DC. 3hrs Still dont have package. What a horror story. DHL SUCKS! If a company your dealing with uses them.....RUN. read more

If you have to deal with this company or you order a product and are waiting for a shipment from this company you need to second guess this or come up with a plan B . I had no issues at all! You can't miss the building. The side of the building has a giant "DHL" in red and yellow. Enter through the door that's clearly marked "3130". Parking: Plenty of street parking... There's no meter or garage parking as far as I can tell, just park wherever you see space along the side of the road as long as it's not blocking a driveway or fire hydrant! Service: Chances are there's not going to be anyone at the front desk. Ring the buzzer to get assistance. The guy helping me arrived within a few seconds and he found my package fairly quickly. No complaints here. Picking Up: - They will ask for a valid ID. - Bring the delivery attempt slip if you have it. I was told that even if we didn't have it, that a valid ID matching the recipient would be fine. - No Saturday pickup/delivery. - If they haven't made their final delivery attempt and you decide you'd like to pick it up rather than have them redeliver, make sure you call ahead of time so your package doesn't get put out with the delivery truck. If they've made a final delivery attempt then you're forced to pick it up. Lastly, they close at 6PM Mon-Fri. And yaay, I hope you get an exciting package! I placed a custom order for my birthday in April. The vendor is in Paris France. I was contacted by the vendor on May 5th asking me if I had the package. He stated there was an attempt of delivery. I contacted customer service and asked if they could deliver May 6th after 5:30 PM during I will be home from work. I also asked that they deliver it without a signature. They gentleman I talked with stated it could be arranged. I arrived home. I checked the tracking number. It stated delivered at 1606 I believed. I did not see the package and was concerned it was taken by one of the homeless people in the area. I called DHL and this time I was directed to their corporate office in Arizona. I was told the person I talked to should have never told me that. I was assigned to Alexis M Cota Customer Care Research I Backline Core. She told me I will have an answer by Friday the 7th before 5 PM my time. By this time as a military veteran suffering from severe depression and anxiety. I ended up off work due to this. I was told they had a picture of the home it was delivered. They person described the house. I informed her that was the wrong home. Again I was told they would look into it and contact me. This basically went on for a week. On Thursday May 13th Alexis called me to inform me they were still investigating. I asked that this be resolved the next day Friday. She again stated I will contact you on Friday they 14th before 5. I noticed it was around 4:30 and I have not received a call. I called DHL and was told the package was delivered and my case was closed. I stated if this was the case, why am I calling you? Again transferred to another person in the corporate office. At this point my anxiety flared up. The person I talked with was very uncooperative. Treated me as I was lying. I asked her why was I not called by Alexis to make sure I received the package? After reading the previous reviews, it all makes sense now. Initially, my package should have been delivered to a package locker in my apartment, and the driver refused to deliver it there so I had it held for pick up. I did exactly what I was supposed to do and I brought my ID and tracking number I was the only person in DHL and they took forever to find my package. They asked for my ID twice and my tracking number twice even after writing my tracking number down the first time which makes no sense but anyways the lady at the front desk said she could not release my package because my IDs address did not match the shipping address so I pulled out my shipping confirmation email to show her that it was mine. The tracking number and shipping matched from the Apple email and she still gave me the runaround and told me to email apple and the Apple shoul email DHL to release my package. I told her to show me where that policy is and she refused so I left pissed off. I called DHL and told them to re-deliver my package since they would not allow me to pick it up. The DHL driver calls me that he is at my apartment building and I instruct him to deliver my package to the parcel lockers like all of the other delivery drivers do. He mentioned that he couldn't just leave my package because it's an Apple laptop which caught my by surprise because how do you know? There is not identifying information on the package. It doesn't even say it's coming from Apple. he stayed on the phone with me and seemingly delivered my package. I received the confirmation email that my package was delivered by DHL and I could pick it up from the package lockers. I get home type in my credentials, the locker pops open and it's empty. The people at this DHL office are criminals, and like other reviewers have said, this place needs to be shut down, or everyone there needs to be fired. I lost money because I went weeks without a laptop when It should have been delivered weeks prior. I called DHL again and they opened an investigation, I also went to check the cameras that are facing the package lockers at the leasing office. This place is the worst, I Live on a military base which they CAN get on but they don't even try. I have put a signature release 4 times and each time I get a message saying nobody was home because the drivers are to afraid to just drive up to the gate. UPS, FEDEX, Amazon everybody else has no problems getting on base but for some reason these DHL drivers refuse to even try. So I have to always go pick it up from them. What a waste! Ok, so DHL gets five stars due to a failure by others. I bought something. The vendor misaddressed it. DHL apparently delivered it to the address the vendor gave them, so I didn't recieve it. When the "Package Delivered" email came in but the package didn't, I called and asked for help. They told me that if they could recover the package, they couldn't really redeliver a package to an address different than the one the vendor gave them. This makes sense. I'm giving them five stars because 1) I was able to call and get a live human fairly easily, 2) they told me that they would research the problem and call back within two hours, 3) they called back within 30 minutes, and 4) they clearly explained the situation and suggested I request a refund. This company is completely unsuited for residential delivery. They really should only offer business-to-business delivery. During early February, I took a trip to Italy and purchased some crystal glasses from Vecchia Murano in Venice. The glasses were shipped back via DHL. The packaging was fine. The glasses were encased in styrofoam and marked "fragile glass." They showed up fine. DHL only delivers Monday to Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. The package can show up any time during those twelve hours. They do not allow you to schedule a two-hour window like Fedex. The problem arises when you have to sign for a package. I work long hours during the week, so I am not able to stay home all day to sign for a package. If they would schedule a two-hour delivery window, i could go into work later or come home from work earlier to sign for the package. Since they do not schedule a delivery window, the package could come any time between 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening and I probably will not be there to sign for it. I went to their website and scheduled for it to be delivered on Feb. 14th, since it was a federal holiday and I would be home. No problem, right? i was home all day when I could have been out doing other things. Around three in the afternoon, I go down to the laundry room to bring up the laundry. I was only down there for a few minutes, and that was precisely the time that the DHL delivery person knocked on my door and left. I was home all day, and I only went downstairs for a few minutes, and I missed the package! I went on their website again and arranged to pick it up at their depot. The problem is that their nearest depot is in northeast D.C. near the state line with Maryland, and I live all the way in Fairfax County and I don't own a car! Are you kidding me? They had another depot in Fairfax County but it was even farther away than the D.C. depot since it was located on the far western side of the county. i had to take the Metro to the Greenwood station take an Uber about three miles to the DHL depot to pick up the item, and repeat this coming home. What a hassle! An Uber or cab ride each way would have been 30 or 40 dollars. Thousands of people in the D.C. area, including myself do not own cars, so going somewhere not near a Metro station is a hardship At least Fedex and UPS have depots in Alexandria that are nearby so picking up a package would not be so hard. DHL has a very small slice of the market so they have fewer locations and are stretched very thin. They also have very limited hours at their depots. They are only open from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Monday to Friday. They have no early morning, evening, or weekend hours, so you could go to the depot and pick up your package when you are not at work. For these reasons, DHL is completely unsuited to residential delivery, especially for packages that have to be signed for. They really should stick to the commercial market. read more

I missed the final DHL delivery attempt because I was on vacation, and had to go pick up my package at this location. I am in Gaithersburg, so this was already a 40-minute drive for me (!). Also DHL never opens on week-ends, so you have to go there during your own work hours. Just great. But, these are the rules, so let's just accept that and move on to the rest of the issues. Where I am really starting to have a problem, is how long they made me wait once I was there. It looks like they are under-staffed. There was no one greeting customers at the desk. I rang the bell, waited, rang again because i started doubting it actually worked. And again, and again. After somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes of waiting, an employee finally shows up. Apparently it was normal for them that I had been waiting when there was no other customer around, because he made no mention of it. He takes my delivery attempt notice, and goes back inside the warehouse. I waited 10 minutes more to get my package, no kidding. This was honestly unbelievable. Any postal office usually finds a package in less than one minute, even one that's hard to find. I made arrangements for a package requiring signature to be delivered on a day when I would be home. DHL texts me stating that a delivery was attempted and that I was not home. However, I was sitting on my couch at the time, no door was knocked, no doorbell rung, the dog didn't even announce that someone was at the door, and, there was no card left on the front door of my building stating that a delivery was attempted. I'm not surprised to see the very negative reviews of this DHL location. I recently received a package via DHL. Due to an error on the sender's end, the package was not addressed correctly. I immediately called and corrected the address, and was told that the package would be delivered to my home. Two days later I hadn't received it, and I discovered it was being held at the V Street facility. I called again and asked for it to be delivered, and was promised delivery within 24 hours. The next day it was still being held, so I repeated my call, and they repeated their promises. I went through around six iterations of this, including with a supervisory-level customer service representative promising delivery. The final time, I asked to submit a complaint, and was told DHL would call back within 2 hours to discuss my situation. Needless to say, they never called. Ultimately, I had to drive an hour each direction to pick up the package myself. Moral of the story: stay far away from DHL. read more

I ordered a package to be delivered to my grandmothers apartment since she watches my son and is home all day every day. As soon as I got notified that my package was in transit I was able to update the delivery options and get text notifications. I immediately opted to "signature release" which I thought at the time meant that it would be released with signature. Then I added a special note to have it delivered and signed for by my grandmother at her door and re-specified the unit number. I got notified that my package was delivered at 6:30 however, it was NOT. It was marked delivered but it was not delivered to where it was directed to be delivered to. I had my grandmother check the entire building, the mailbox, even out front. Nothing. Mind you, I have packages delivered here all the time, had it been left out side of her door (not following my written direction) she lives on the third floor and knows all of her other 3 neighbors on that floor, it would have been fine. I called the support number and was told that the resource center would be notified and they would track the driver to see where they left my package. I was told I would have call back with an update at 10AM this morning. I decided to call at 9AM this morning instead to get the ball rolling. I spoke with another woman who said she would contact the delivery center and have them research/ track down the driver and she would call me no later than 5pm today. My question and concern is, why would the driver/ delivery person not follow my specific directions of going to the apartment unit which is a given as its the address, and hand delivering it to the person I instructed. Why would they just leave it somewhere (if that's what they did)? If they did not deliver it, why wouldn't they update the status as not delivered? I have so many questions. If your package is lost or stolen, the company takes no responsibility and have instructed me that I would need to contact the buyer and hope that they refund me or replace my items. I can tell you that China will not be replacing or refunding my purchase of over $150 worth of stuff. I am so upset and displeased. I had requested 24 hours in advance for DHL to deliver my package at the front door because I would not be home and I know from past experiences that DHL is some shit. To my surprise they didn't leave the package in front of the door and I had to curse out 3 different people just for them to attempt to help me instead of saying "we can schedule a re-delivery". So one of the managers called back and said I could go pick up my package at the station between 3:30-6pm. This is by far the worst delivery service I have ever had. They would claim they attempted to deliver your package while I was waiting at home, but the DHL truck never showed up. And then, a "Delivery attempted - recipient not home" message would secretly show up on the waybill status. I have contacted them over a dozen times. For the third "attempt", I left a note at my door asking the delivery person to leave the package if no one is available, although I was also at home. Guess what? NOTHING and the same message showed up again. I filed another complaint, but all they said was I would have to pick it up myself at this location which was 50 minutes away from my house. It was funny that I only had a day left to pick it up; otherwise, the package would be returned or abandoned because packages were only kept in their warehouse for 30 days from the date of the first delivery attempt. By the way, the three attempts that have failed took them 29 days because a new attempt was made almost a week and a half after the previous attempt. read more

The delivery driver couldn't find my place and worst part is nobody from the DHL decided to call me and ask me what the correct address is. Finally got through and was told package wasn't cleared, so wasn't delievered. WRONG. Then told couldn't be delievered until 2 days later. I waited at home all day. I was in the driveway putting the trash bins away and when I came back around there was a note at the door that I missed the truck. I would have heard the doorbell from where I was. (Day 2 off work). I called and was told they don't call, you have to wait at the door to hear the knock or see the truck. Or you can sign the card and then they will leave it. (Which then voids your insurance because they can say the item was damaged by you!). NEVER USE DHL!!!! read more

If it would be possible to give a 0, I would. I've had the worst experience with DHL over the last week. They made an attempt to deliver at the correct address and somehow still had the old address in their system. After calling every day for a week, I finally got an answer - they sorted my package incorrectly. Each person assured me the package would be delivered, but no! I even spoke to a manager yesterday and he called back to guarantee me that the package would be sent out today and delivered. Guess what?!! I still DO NOT have the package! They messed up again and did not sent it out. All they told me is that it would be a learning experience for them and I got a simple apology. Now we have to go and get the package. They do not compensate you and do not provide the service to call and assure the package will be delivered. They are horrible and do not care about loosing customers.
