They are more of an overstock place than a dollar store, also a lot of things there are very expensive so don't view it as a dollar/discount store either in that way. However, the prices are all reasonable. My favorite thing about this store though is that it is - sadly, though luckily it's here now - the closest thing to a book store in the entire city of Defiance as far as I'm aware. They don't have a massive selection and most of the "books" are more coffee table style stuff, but personally I like that kind of thing. They have game books (crossword, sudoku, etc), coffee table books (I got one about Chevy trucks), cookbooks, and so on. A good reminder we do need an actual book store in town when a bargain store is the closest you can get, but for now this will do.

What I loved the most is when we got to the checkout. It wouldn't scan my Pellegrino waters. So the person in charge of that area comes over and looks at the bottle and was just curious as why it wouldn't let me scan water. She asked me how much they were and she had to ring it in manually. Since I'm not a member I wouldn't receive the discounts, she said wait here. She got me a membership card, scanned and saved me a few dollars. She was so apologetic about the water! She was so nice. I decided to go to customer service and spoke to Joel! Phenomenally nice person as well, I wanted to add my phone number as who carries physical cards anymore. If this is what we have to look for at our local Giant Eagles that will be great. I hope they keep their employees but they feel happier working there.
