I don't usually fly with United Airlines, but on my most recent trip, I had an American Airlines flight that got canceled due to weather issues. I hopped on a United flight in an attempt to leave earlier. That brought me out to terminal E. It was the usual layout for the older terminals at DFW. Definitely not as nice as terminal D. The hallways between gates were a bit too narrow especially when there were so many flight delays and cancellations. There were plenty of food options. Took a Frontier airlines flight here from San Diego and arrived unceremoniously. The Terminal was ok. a few things to choose from for food, souvenirs, snacks, etc. The walkways are crowded, people are hustling and bustling, and not smiling, no one seems happy here. You can ride a tram over to other terminals, and then walk over to the Dart train if you can follow the random signs that point you down hallways and corridors that end in a dead end. They need to do a better job marking stuff. At least the bathrooms were clean. read more

The DFW terminal feels very 70s. There is plenty of fast food but otherwise offerings are limited. At least the gates are specious but DFW does not feel like a modern airport. read more

New terminal at DFW and there isn't much to look at. Not that big of a terminal either. Gates are easy to find and short walk from security. After you arrive, rideshares are upstairs so you have to grab your bags then go back upstairs. There are rideshares signs at bottom floor making it confusing. DFW is massive, but it's actually one of the better airports to get stuck in. The Skylink train makes it pretty easy to jump between terminals, which you'll probably want to do because the food and shopping options are actually worth exploring. I was impressed by the variety--it's not just the usual sad food court stuff. They have a ton of local Texas spots like Pappasito's and Salt Lick, plus high-end shops if you need to kill time. It honestly feels more like a mall than an airport in some areas. read more

It's funny that I just don't have enough information to properly write about this terminal. After a 3 1/2 hour very smooth flight we landed at DFW and taxied over to Terminal E. We got off the plan very quickly since we were in row two. From the plane we walked over to the restrooms which were located adjacent to the gate and then through the doors across the isle to baggage which came out as soon a s we walked in. From there we walked out the doors directly to the ride share where a car was waiting for us just seconds after my wife ordered it. What can I say? Everything flowed perfectly and I can only hope that it only works like this on all upcoming flights. Every few months, I fly through DFW on the way to another city, and occasionally, I stop in Dallas or Fort Worth for work meetings or to visit friends. I really enjoy the DFW airport! From the restaurants and shopping to airport lounges to the tram that can get you around the airport easily and even a hotel right in the middle of it, this airport has a lot to offer. Terminal E not only services American Airlines but other airlines including Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Breeze Airways, Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Spirit Airlines, and United Airlines. Terminal E handles both domestic and some international flights. After all, one of the slogans of the DFW Airport is "Travel. Transformed." The clubs and lounges in DFW Airport are much better than usual and there are more of them than usual. I have two travel premium credit cards: the AAdvantage Executive Mastercard offering complimentary Admirals Club access (including the satellite location near the mezzanine) and the American Express Platinum card offering other lounge access (including the Priority Pass, Plaza Premium, and Delta Sky Lounges) along with travel credits along with complimentary CLEAR and Global Entry membership. There is also a United Club Lounge. One of the challenges with the airport is that there is always construction taking place throughout the airport. Right now, fortunately, this is impacting the A and B gates more than Terminal E. Fortunately, the website (https://www.dfwairport.com) highlights these construction delays. On the website, you can also order a meal ahead of time and find a discount code for airport parking. You can also find security wait times, an airport shuttle tracker, parking availability, and interactive map, and a list of more than 200 shopping and dining options, some of which are located in Terminal E. For all of the airports I travel through, DFW is the only one I try to have a longer layover to take advantage of the airport, lounges, and travel experience. Flew out on Delta on the morning of a oncoming snowstorm. Got to experience how DFW handles snow/sleet weather including the process of de-icing. Now appreciate more the dedicated de-icing bays that exist in the cold weather airports like MSP, ORD, and DTW. Also learned that a larger aircraft can take up to 1000 gallons of fluid, and all of it runs off the airplane at takeoff. Also learned that one only has 15 minutes to takeoff after de-icing, otherwise you have to do the whole process over again. read more

Only terrible, cheap, processed, unhealthy, frozen fast-food options available in this under-air conditioned, smelly (travelers passing by can smell the restrooms within 300 ft) airport terminal, with the overwhelming odor of human excrement making the crappy food options even less appealing (pun intended). Maybe they were having a bad sewer-related issue they were desperately trying to fix behind the scenes, but the general skeevy bus-terminal vibes and cheap, fast-food vendors is a (bad) choice. Would not recommend unless you're a fan of dirty, overpriced bus stations. read more

I have a love hate with E terminal because half of it is "normal" and half of it is under ground, across a moving side walk, up an escalator over to another separate wing of the airport that makes you question where you are going! However, now that I have learned the odd layout and the little extra walk required, I love it. Easy to maneuver. Security check in wad efficient. They even have a place where you can lay down if you want to. Great for early morning flights. Loved that they had a 7-11 convenience store , which made it easy to grab a bite and the didn't charge for the ice I needed for my water bottle. read more

Here at Terminal E you'll find gates for Spirit, Frontier, United, Delta and Alaska Airlines. About a dozen eateries, 2-4 coffee shops (Peats, IHOP, Starbucks). Lounging sofas along the walkways and bathroom every 100ft or so. read more

If you can avoid coming to DFW Terminal E for a flight set for departure at or before 6:00am, I would highly recommend that. Came here for a 5:49am flight at around 4:30am on a Friday after New Year's Day. The TSA agents were all EXTREMELY rude and nasty. The first TSA person yelled at me that I was taking "too long" to pull out my ID. The second TSA agent yelled at me for keeping my blue light glasses on while going through security. Lastly, the TSA agent at the end kept slamming the bins to stack them. As a hypersensitive person with an invisible disability, this was unacceptable and I had a hard time keeping myself composed. It's the fact that ALL the TSA agents were unkind and unhelpful. I'll never fly out of Dallas via Delta at this hour ever again, and I hope you don't ever have to either. Other than the poor experience with security, the terminal is very clean and seems that it was updated/maintained as of recent. Word of advice, hire better TSA agents, hold them to a higher standard, and pay them better. Make processes more efficient and have them communicate the processes to travelers. Lastly, DOES IT HURT TO BE KIND?! It'll make the world a better place for all involved. You never know what someone is going through. read more

Great terminal lots of food and drink choices even very early in the morning. If extra time lots to look at. Bathrooms are easy to find and clean and well serviced. Drinking fountains have a way to fill waterbottles which I appreciated. read more

It's a nice efficient terminal with self check in, baggage drop off area. They also have Clear, TSA Pre check all together and TSA security checks are pretty smooth. Inside the terminal lots of restaurants including chic fil a, sports bar, TGIF, Starbucks and few more. United and Delta lounges are available too. Lots of markings and signs available to guide passengers. Gates are clearly marked with standalone advertisement board. read more

I always feel like terminal E is like the back alleys of DFW. Lots of stairs up and down depending on where your gate is. Admirals club hidden between flights of stairs on your way to the gates. Parking here is a little easier than the busier ones so that's a plus. read more

TSA PreCheck line is a joke. Full maze and it takes 20-30 mins to go through. A ton of staff that just stands around with the bare minimum of agents actually working. 7 agents standing around talking while three are checking your info, one manning the xray and one last agent is standing for inspections. 7 others standing by doing nothing!!!! read more

This is a pretty decent terminal located in Dallas airport. My one gripe is that there are not a lot of places to charge your phone. If you do need to, stop by Coca Cola's The Bubble. There is also a good souvenir shop called Texas Marketplace which also sell great chili kits. If you need a place to eat, I would recommend TGI Fridays. read more

This Terminal is shared with American Eagle flights and Delta Airlines. Its small bit clean and bright due to the outside lights. There are several small eateries compared to the other larger termimals. Its quieter and not as crowded. Bathrooms are spaced further from each other, making this very inconvenient. read more

The terminal is ok once you find it which is not too difficult, the delta counter are fast and efficient except a third of the check in machine can't print. But the TSA is bad, we had a line of 150 to 200 people waiting and only 1 person in TSA checking and about 4,5 people there but not doing much. I would fire the TSA manager. read more

Bad enough this airport is soo huge and an inconvenience if you are on a short layover. However, the worst thing was Terminal E. It is dirty. The restroom by E26 is filthy. Dirty rags thrown all over the floor under the sink. The carpet in the terminal was disgusting. I stopped here when flying from Cali to ATL. When I visited the Wendy's on the E terminal it was oh so apparent I was in the south. When my food was ready they called me "Ms Nichi", not simply Nichi which I had given as my name. Oh and let's talk about the strawberry lemonade....it was so sweet I had to add water to dilute it! TSA Pre Check at terminal E is baffling. It takes at least twice as long and I've waited as long as 30 minutes maybe 35 minutes. If the general boarding has no line or maybe less than five minutes why would I pay $75 to wait in line for two or three or sometimes four times as long for pre-check. Set up doesn't make any sense. They've got two lines, one for clear and another even longer one for TSA Pre Check both funneling down to a single TSA agent who is checking IDs. So they alternate back-and-forth, sort of, but the clear people are always pushing their way in. There is absolutely no benefit to having pre-check here. read more
