Hmm...if only the rest of the city was this easy to navigate. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and lounges, but the best terminal is the international terminal D. However, if you are not flying abroad, the other terminals have lots of amenities. There are even a complementary yoga spaces in terminals D and E. There is a good assortment of local and international stores/ restaurants. Definitely check out Pappadaeux or Pappasitos in Terminal A for some excellent noms before takeoff. Even just catching La whiff the food here is enough to lift your spirits. Restrooms are plentiful but are in various states of disrepair or improvement. This is a work in progress and several of the restrooms are in renovation mode, while the ones that have been renovated have all the bells and whistles like touchless handwashing/ drying and spacious stalls. Overall DFW is one of the least stressful big airports and is like a city unto itself. It is larger than the island of Manhattan, and larger than LAX, O'Hare and JFK combined, but with it's smart design and constant strive towards continuous improvement, it's a more navigable and pleasant a place than it's size would suggest.

TSA agents not too bad...maybe because their budget went through, and there are a bunch of…read moredifferent restaurants and shops that you'll typically find at airports. Meh on the quality of food. Go somewhere nice before/after your flight. TSA lines here were active when I traveled.

Gate agent…read moreare very helpful, boarding starts with ample time for all passengers to board, and seating for the aircraft provides plenty of space for above average sized men. All this supports consistent on time departures and early arrival times at the destination. I have yet to experience a better airline out of Dallas Fort Worth.

I'm a frequent flyer, and was reminded today why American Airlines is the worst........Received a…read more6am text alerting me that my 12:30pm flight was cancelled and that I was rebooked on a 2:30 flight......shit happens, no problem, however I was not thrilled the upgraded seat I paid for on my original flight landed me a middle seat on the rebook - no problem, but how about acknowledging and refunding the money I paid for the upgrade WITHOUT me having to prod.......as I was pulling out of the driveway, received a text that my second flight was delayed 2 hours.......then 5 minutes later, that flight was also cancelled.......WTF!!! For the record, no weather issue either here in Dallas nor in Phoenix where I'm going........3 strikes you're out, but I'm not falling for the banana in the tailpipe......I immediately booked another airline and called AA customer service for a refund on the front half of my trip, but keep the back end since I'm flying home with clients......Apparently AA won't issue a refund until after your entire round trip booking is complete - yet another inconvenience that screws the customer - moving forward, I will ALWAYS pay more to fly ANYONE other than American - oh, and when I did call customer service, got stuck in the queue because I didn't know my frequent flier number......for the record, I had my reservation confirmation number handy.....and when I finally got to talk to an agent, she immediately transferred my call to someone else - customer service? NON-EXISTENT and shameful!! UPDATE: After returning, I called customer service for a refund on the front half of my trip.....per company policy THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT COULD NOT ASSIST ON THE PHONE!!! She was great at helping me navigate the website in order to REQUEST a refund - on a positive note, once I finished jumping thru all of American's BULLSHIT hoops, I quickly received a refund
