I just need to brag about the great service I received from Ernie Dewinne of Dewinne Equipment in San Antonio, Texas. I had an unfortunate incident where my Ariens riding mower caught on fire while I was driving it, but thankfully my homeowners insurance covered a replacement minus my deductible. USAA reached out to Dewinne Equipment in San Antonio to inquire on the price of a replacement. Ernie offered a great deal that I couldn't pass up and it was for the next model up from mine. He actually beat the estimates I received from two other Ariens dealers in the San Antonio area. This is when I decided that I have to see if this was for real. DeWinne. Says they are a motorcycle dealer, but they actually sell and service outdoor power equipment. It works like this: if your outdoor power equipment fails and you need it serviced in San Antonio, you have a good chance of having it sent to DeWinne. The picture shows some of the enormous number of repairs they have done on broken equipment. DeWinne fixes your equipment; they do a great job. They fixed my pole saw in 4 weeks. They deserve more than 3 stars, but the stunning amount of broken outdoor power equipment here simply has them unable to service it quickly. It takes 3-4 weeks for them to get to your equipment. I had some more equipment I wanted to put in for repair, but I needed it back in less than a month, so I fixed it myself. Whoever said offshoring manufacturing was good should have to work at DeWinne for a year. It's led to this tsunami of broken equipment. read more

They know you can buy lawn equipment anywhere, but it's service that brings you back. Their service department is top notch. They won't sell anything that they don't stand behind. Other dealers are a joke compared to these guys. It's surprising, actually. I decided a long time ago to purchase a mower. Before I pulled the trigger, I visited numerous dealers and test drove many mowers. The service was always the same: Semi-attentive salesman, high prices, vague information. Just before I made my decision, I stopped by DeWinne Equipment. Ernie and Jeff both helped me. They gave me tons of information, honest opinions, and zero pressure. They acted as though they wanted me to find the perfect machine... regardless where I bought it or which one I chose. They let me come and go when it was convenient... drive whichever mowers I wanted.. and ask tons of questions. One day, I decided I wanted to try a specific model because it had the deck I wanted. Ernie told me they didn't have one in stock but they had a similar one in the crate... new. I said it wasn't a problem because it wasn't the exact model I was looking for anyway. I turned around and saw Ernie on a forklift, hauling a new crate to the shop. They removed the crate, assembled the new mower, filled it with gas, and drove it up for me to test drive. Ernie knew that it was NOT the unit I wanted to purchase but he assembled it anyway just so I could see the deck operate! It took a few weeks to narrow it down but I finally found the mower to fit the job. Ernie ordered it and had it built and ready within a few days. I was busy with work so he even offered that I use his trailer to haul the mower. Ernie and Jeff did even more than the things I typed here. Their service was incredible. I can't say enough about how great they took care of me... and insisted on finding the right machine for the job. I'll never shop anywhere else for lawn equipment. Other dealers were a waste of time. My chainsaw was running rough. I replaced the clutch, and the fuel filter, and chain. Still ran rough. Hard to start. Took it to Dewinne. They only had it a couple days, even though they were quite busy. They replaced the coil and fixed a leaky oiler. Took it home and boom started like it started out of the box new. read more

Awesome staff and very knowledgeable about the equipment they sale. Walter assisted me in purchasing a backpack blower. He put the backpack together and showed me how to use it. He wasn't pushy and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. Gave me the low down on how to maintain it and the type of gas to use. Showed me the common mistakes people make when starting the blower and why people end up flooding the engine. I have had the blower for 4 months now and haven't had any problems with it.
