The initial phone call to get a cab was awful - the guy who picked up was not listening to me and made me repeat the address multiple times. He told me he'd be to our place in 20 mins, but over an hour passed, no call from him and when I called the company they just told me he was "en-route". Once he got there, he claimed that a shift change was the reason he was late (even though he was the one who took the call). Didn't offer any discount for being so late (and we were late to dinner due to this). His taxi van was gross, smelled terrible. And the icing on the cake was that the 15-20 min ride cost us a whopping $55 bucks! Taxis in DC are not close to being that expensive. Total price gauging. Will definitely never use this company again and will let others know to avoid it. read more

Where do I even begin... this is the most unprofessional incompetent taxi service I have ever used. I can't even say "used" because they NEVER showed up. We decided to be responsible adults and book a taxi service a month in advance. We frequently called to make sure that the reservation was booked and on time. The day before we called one last time to make sure and tried to book it even earlier in case they were running late. The guy assured us they would be on time. Also please keep in mind this was Memorial Day Weekend so there is never cabs available. The day of we call them to see where they are. The woman on the phone explains that they are running a "little late." The best they could do was come in 30-40 MINUTES. It also takes over 30 minutes to get there so this already put us over an hour behind schedule. I asked to speak to the manager and the woman explained that the manager wasn't there. I told her to call him and tell him to call me but she didn't know his number and only had a radio. I told her to put someone else on the phone and she said she was the only one in the office. After going back and forth, we told them to send us the soonest cab and let us know when they would be here. After 30 minutes passed we called to see how far the cab would be. They said they "tried calling us and we didn't respond" so THEY LEFT. Thank god in the middle of the whole commotion we called another cab service that actually showed up. We had the most amazing experience with this taxi company! We had 9 girls in Bethany for a bachelorette party, and they let us all squeeze into one van so It wouldn't be as expensive. Barb was our driver all weekend and we actually asked for her all four times we called the cab because she was so personable and willing to help us. I will always use this company when visiting the Delaware beaches. read more

Just to preface if possible, I would have given Dewey Beach zero stars for cussing us out and being unreliable. We called this taxi company while on vacation in Lewes, DE. We called earlier in the afternoon to see if the company would take us from Lewes to Rehobeth, where there is more of a nightlife. They eagerly replied "yes" just call us 30 minutes beforehand. So based on that information we did just that. However, the dispatcher said there were no cabs in the area, which was contradictory to the information we were previously given, but we proceeded by calling another company, Shamrock. Shamrock was much more accommodating and said they would send a cab right out to us. While waiting, my friend got a call on her cell phone from a taxi company asking for more details about her address. The number was a personal cell and we assumed it was Shamrock getting more info. It turns out it was a driver from Dewey Beach, who did not identify himself as a part of that company. We did not find this out until a driver from both Dewey Beach and Shamrock showed up. We got in the Shamrock taxi because they were the ones that all along confirmed they were coming. Dewey Beach taxi NEVER made it known it was them on the phone and therefore we NEVER had confirmation that they were coming. As we pulled away, my friend got an inappropriate and obnoxious text, "you're a fing b(@#)!" Real mature. Cussing out customers is not good business practice. read more

Great response. Picked us up and brought us home in a big comfortable car. I'm not from around here but I like that the driver was local and not some Uber guy from Philly or Wilmington in for the day to poach work from the folks who live here. read more

We have a usual guy we use for our taxi home from Dewey and Rehoboth but got an answering machine when we called this time so we went with Dewey Beach Taxi. The car smelled of disgusting urine. I have been in port a potties that have smelled better. I almost gagged the entire way home. Then when I asked how much (we travelled a little over 3 miles) I was told 19.00!!! Our normal guy charges us 10.00! That is double! I guess it is my fault for not asking because for that I would have rather walked home! And then the guy proceeded to sit in front of my house for 15 minutes after?? Doing what? Urinating in the car maybe? Or pretending he went further than he did for what he charged us?? Not sure but will NOT use this company again EVER. Dart is cleaner and cheaper. read more
