Had it not been for Judy, I'm not sure we would have made it to New Zealand due to the horrible flights the cruise line arranged. Judy proved to be knowledgeable and committed to working the details of our trip and reviewing them with us so we understood thoroughly. Her extra mile service and communication made our long trip experience magical and possible.

We will definitely try a different location away from the marsh. They have bathhouses for campers only nearby and open at all hours. They did a good job trying to keep it clean. The campgrounds are clean. You have access to fishing . You are able to walk to the beach but we drive to the parking lot and the parking pass given by the campground covered the parking spot. The beach has lifeguards and there are two restaurants and shops. The beach has restrooms and bathhouses within free same center as the restaurants. They do not have BBQ grills. Bring your stove tops to cook and food that's doesn't required heating. They don't allow outside wood for any type of grills. You can find additional information on the website. The area is kid friendly and secure. They have a nice playground. I will try this location again.

We enjoyed our stay overall but I think there is definitely room for improvement. My husband…read morespecifically called to ask for a room that had a view, as some Google reviews aptly noted that some of the second floor balconies have an obstructed view of the canal due to large trees. When we arrived, we were given a room on the second floor that had an obstructed view. What the heck? We went back to the lobby and spoke with the receptionist and he changed us to a room on the fourth floor (402). That had a spectacular view of the canal and was the same price. So why didn't the first employee just offer it when we specifically asked for a room with a view and it was obviously unoccupied? Beats the heck out of me. The inn looks a little like a museum inside with its decorations and statues so if you like that sort of vibe, this would fit your needs. The bathtub is quite slippery which surprised me since most of the patrons staying here appear to be seniors. The room does have a mini fridge and has two complimentary water bottles which is nice. Their complimentary "European style breakfast" from 8-10 AM advertised on their website wasn't impressive at all. Be aware there are no hot foods. It's a few pastries, some fresh fruit, what looks like store made granola and individual yogurt cups, some bagels/toast. We are staying for two nights but you're missing nothing by eating breakfast elsewhere. I was still hungry after eating the meager breakfast provided. Super 8 would probably has a better breakfast. The front desk also leaves and/or stops answering the phones by 11 pm so if you have an overnight emergency or need, I think you're on your own. Overall, what you're paying for is the view (if you get even that) and proximity to the small downtown area. There is outdoor inn parking in a lot across the street. You do have to walk across the street and downhill to get from parking lot to the inn which could be hairy in rainy or snowy weather.

Our room could use a refresh and the musty smell from the faded carpet was , at times, overwhelming. The breakfast starts at 8:00 and was a combination of store bought boxed crumbuns and fruit. PLEASE STAY AWAY.... We stayed for Memorial Day Weekend. Castaways Motel aka 'Beachside…read moreResort'(they just changed their name and got new owners, 2 weeks ago). Now the owners are super nice and of course i know nothing of running a hotel but there was no updated 'certificate to run' or 'merchantile' license, the last one was from 2014. The rooms were dirty(like smudge stains on the mirrors like as if wiped from a dirty rag, stains on the floors and ceilings, a qtip from the previous tenants still on the floor in the bathroom), the fridge wasnt working and the top shelf in the fridge was cracked. The pull out sofa had no mattress in it and when we asked for one we got one right away and later realized that it came from outside where they have a bunch of these mattresses stacked up. We had to go to walmart to get fitted sheets, blankets and pillows cause we were not going to use anything they had down... The cable went out and never came back on even tho they said comcast was coming to fix it, so we bought a really cheap dvd player and dvds and watched them. There are also a lot of issues that included cops being called to break up a fight and people in the room across from us getting so drunk and high they kept us up almost all night, although they did quiet down after i called and the manager told them they would be kicked out if he got another call.. It quieted down but then you had people yelling from the streets and the hotel behind us. It was just non stop b.s..... As nice as the price looks, you most definitely get what you pay for. I will never come back here again
