Cape May reminded us of a smaller version of Napa wineries. Natali had interesting wines. Kate at Natali was very helpful & knowledgeable. Kathy at Cape May Winery was excellent describing their wines, the wine making process and general questions about wine. But Willow Creek was unorganized, the server was not interactive with our group, very minimal explanation of the wines and was not very knowledgeable about general questions about wine. Very young vineyard and the wines tasted immature. Please offer other wineries as part of the tour package and eliminate Willow Creek.

We were killing time before our dinner reservation this week and decided to see if they had any availability. We were in luck and able to get on the Cinderella carriage right away! It is the perfect size for a family of 4. Our driver was so nice. I forget her name but she was a brunette and so sweet! She gave us great history of the town as we drove around. Our horse's name was Oreo and he was so adorable. It was about a 30 minute ride. I definitely recommend doing this at Christmastime so you can see all the beautiful lights on the historic Cape May homes! I look forward to taking another carriage ride some time soon :)

My husband and I went on one of these tours years ago and loved it. This year, we had a visitor…read morefrom Northern Ireland with us and we wanted to show her what we could of the area. We had taken her on the trolley tour which was great, but because the car has a roof on it, it was difficult to see some of the stuff, especially if it was on the other side of the trolley and/or up high. We decided to take her on the carriage tour 1) just because it's cool and 2) so she could see more from the open carriage. Our 'driver' appeared to be new, and was learning how to control the horse through the busy Cape May streets. We had a 'trainer' with her who gave her pointers along the way. I think because of her newness and preoccupation with controlling the horse, she would forget we couldn't really hear her when she was facing forward. If you look at the carriages going by, you''ll notice the drivers are almost always turned to the side while they're talking so their passengers can hear what they're saying. Ours still needed to get the system down. No worries on that, we understood she was training. I can't remember how long the ride took, but it was a very pleasant and relaxed way to see the streets of Cape May and get some history of the area. Our foreign guest was most happily gobsmacked with the experience. Yes, I would recommend this experience and yes, I would most certainly do it again. A romantic horse and carriage ride through a romantic town. What's not to like?

We checked in without a problem. The room charge was comparable to other hotels at about $300/night. The room is cleaned after three days (make sure you schedule a time with the manager in advance!) and the parking situation is a little unsettled. There are about 3 more cars allowed than spots, so you can get a pass for street parking but the main office closes at 8 pm. So, if you arrive after 8 and didn't get a voucher and there are no more spots available you're out of luck. Fortunately, we didn't run into this problem as we made sure not to use the car after 8 p.m. We LOVED the location. It was within walking distance to all of our favorite restaurants along with some good breakfast and ice cream stops. The upstairs neighbors were very loud and we heard all of their running around, but that's probably customary with most of the small hotels in the area. The bottom line is, we felt safe, the room was clean, and the pool was nicely managed. We would patronize the Dolphin Inn again.
