    Camp Bow Wow

We are longtime customers of Camp Bow Wow- love the brand and how passionate each owner is in…read morecaring for animals and meeting each one where they need to be met. Our sweet pup, Bear, is now 11 years old and although he is not really a "dog's dog", he loves people. It warms my heart every time I check-in on the live webcam when he goes to his corner to be by himself, the staff will go out of their way to make sure to connect with him and give him some love- that means so much to me, and more importantly, him. This is consistent no matter which Camp Bow Wow we have had Bear boarded at, and it proves to me that the owners/managers hire people that love animals and genuinely enjoy what they do. Recently, my family moved to Ridgefield, WA and I cannot exaggerate how THRILLED I was when I realized that there was a Camp Bow Wow right around the corner from my house. When scheduling my dog for a daycare appointment, the owner Dan made sure to get our records transferred from our previous Camp Bow Wow in Reno, NV quickly. This made it less stressful for me, as I wanted to ensure that Bear was on the books while I was having some noisy renovation work being done at my home. I was pleased with the drop-off experience, the front staff greeted Bear warmly (he was the newbie that day); very professional and made me happy to leave him with such a great crew for the day. When I picked Bear up I happened to run into Dan in the parking lot and had to thank him again, Bear had a good time but was eager to come home, as always. We are looking forward to booking more daycare and overnight boarding with the Ridgefield, WA Camp Bow Wow location!

Thursday he seemed unwell and his poop was off. took him to the vet and he tested POSITIVE FOR GIARDIA. My dog is not a poop eater and eats/licks random things. Yet here we are. I called and left a message letting them know because now all your dogs have been exposed as well. One week later and I haven't heard a word. I also don't like that the girl walking around with the dogs doesn't interact with the dogs, even though they'd come to her with their tails wagging. How can you be in a room full of dogs and not at least pet them? I'm sure the constant barking is annoying, but to total ignore 12 dogs seems heartless to me. I watched the two hours my dog was there and not one pet. The cameras are constantly dropping the feed and you have to go back to the home page and select the camera again (maybe she petted the dogs then!). On my laptop I could get the feed to even load using chrome or safari. I could only access from my phone. Overall, very disappointing. Get your dogs tested for giardia.

The way my dog Rowan has calmed down with the training is wonderful, I get to watch him make decisions and I love seeing his brain calm down. Rowan was already my emotional support dog, but we needed him to be very well trained for when my husband comes home with his service dog. The staff kept us up to date several times a week with pictures on their Facebook page, and Shannon also called to update us. With the training package we chose, Man's Best Friend provided us with their Top Dog Academy online videos. We have lifetime access and we watched them several times at our own pace, we also watched the videos with our kids so they were fully aware of the expectations and new rules with our dog. The 3 hour training session with Shannon was so informative, Shannon clearly loves dogs and is very passionate about her business. She was patient with me, explained things clearly, answered all my questions, and really made me feel like I CAN be the leader my Rowan needs me to be. I know in my heart that Man's Best Friend will be there for us for the life of my Rowan. This training is worth every single penny and I am so grateful that I can trust myself and my Rowan to be a part of every aspect of my life. Thank you Shannon & everyone at Man's Best Friend! We LOVE you!

At just 2 years old, and because of her calm demeanor, I can take my dog anywhere off leash, especially private events as a traveling chef, have people attempt to touch ot talk to her and she STILL gives me her full attention - which was my only issue with her. I am continously referring them while still learning new things through their many videos. And when I see a dog being trained wrongfully, I automatically want to refer Woodlands to that owner, letting them know that they would excel if they used them. Thank you so much, Woodlands for the work you did for us and the work you do for others. If every dog training facility took their job as seriously as you did, this world would really be happy with their 4-legged pals!!!! Love you long time! Chef Marúkah & Kitah

I have had dogs my entire adult life and consider myself slightly-better-than-average when it comes…read moreto training them. Hard as I try, each dog seems to have "a thing" (e.g., jumping on people, leash aggression, guarding, barking, etc.). Two years ago I got a puppy and decided I didn't have it in me to go through months (and sometimes years) of training effort and end up with another dog with "a thing". I found Woodlands Dog Kingdom through word of mouth. Ayesha has a ton of experience with all kinds of dogs. She worked wonders with my sweet, little puppy but I have seen her successfully train stubborn, adult dogs with pretty big behavioral problems and am so impressed with her ability to adjust her training to meet a dog's needs and an owner's expectations. I sent her an obnoxious puppy and a few weeks later she returned an enthusiastic, but behaved young adult dog. Honestly, it was magical. In a few weeks time she accomplished more than I could have accomplished in years. There are a couple of lessons I learned that I really want to emphasize. First, she trained my puppy but didn't break her spirit. She is still an extremely loving, trusting and enthusiastic dog. Secondly, for the first time ever, I have a dog I can take everywhere. I guess I didn't realize how much richer/fuller a dog's life is when they can go everywhere. I instituted limits for my other dogs because of their "things". This dog has no limits because she doesn't have "a thing". I take her traveling with me. I can board her with no anxiety (for me or her). I can take her to a dog-friendly restaurant. I can take her off-leash at the beach/hiking and know with 100% certainly that she'll come when called. And, best of all, we can go on long walks in the neighborhood or even on busy thoroughfares and she stays in a perfect heel. Ayesha trained my puppy and then helped me learn easy ways to maintain her newly learned skills. Since our board-and-train, I have asked Ayesha for advice on specific/new behaviors and she is always very helpful. Finally, once she has trained a dog she will board them. My love of dogs AND love of travel are not conducive but boarding with Ayesha has liberated me. My dog loves going back to her place. Her boarding fees are very reasonable and the dogs are not crated for hours and hours. They have lots of outside play time and lots of human/cuddle time. I know there are a lot of board-and-train options but Woodland Dog Kingdom is the best!!

I am a disabled combat veteran, but do not qualify for a 'service animal' from non-profits because I do not have the 'correct' diagnosis, even though I suffer from the same exact symptoms as those with PTSD. My wife's mother, who lives in Europe, recently had a stroke and my wife has been by her side since early August. If I hope to see my wife at all over the next several years, because of her and my commitment to ensure that her mother gets the care and attention she deserves, we needed to be much closer than the Pacific NW, hence our uprooting. In order to have Kemper fly with me in the cabin on a grueling 10-hour trans-Atlantic flight, he needed some several skills which he was lacking when we adopted him from the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society after six years of being abandoned and abused, for no reason, by one owner after another. Even with his unjust and unconscionable treatment early in life, he is one of the sweetest and dogs I have ever known. Julie and Kemper quickly developed a strong bond and she was willing to work with me one-on-one, tailoring a training plan for both of us to get us where we need to be with just two months before boarding the plane. Having a Master's in Psychology, I am an expert in operant and classical conditioning, but lacked the understanding of how dogs think, so Julie was training both of us along the way. Kemper picked-up on things quickly and me, not so much, but we were compelled to get the job done and succeed in our mission, no room for error. Paws Down is not exactly cheap when it comes to private training, but Julie did not charge for travel time to our home and routinely stayed after the allotted one-hour appointment times. Yesterday, less than two months after starting with Julie, Kemper passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test and his certificate is on the way, arriving well before we need it for travel to our new home. Thank you Paws Down and Julie for helping me ensure that my support animal and I make it safely to Europe, reuniting our family after moths apart. That should tell you everything you need to know about their training. That horrifying fact aside, they didn't kennel train him or potty train him. Reached out after bringing him home where he peed on the floor 5 times in a three hour period. They said he needed to be on a schedule (that is unreasonable for anyone who isn't retired where they can interact with their dog every hour) then sent me three YouTube videos to train the dog on potty training myself. Which is hilarious because the first video explains how to potty train using the kennel...which would be great if they kennel trained him. But they undeniably did not. He'll bark for HOURS in his kennel even after being fed, walked, and gone to the bathroom. Asked for at least a 50% refund since they finished teaching him how to sit (we already started this and had this working most of the time) taught him how to lay down (we didn't care about that) and taught him how to place (we also didn't care about that) everything else we asked for and was offered on their site for the board and train (which is about 8 or so things) was not trained. Their solution to not get him to pull on a leash was to give him a prong collar. Cool, except not. They stopped responding and issued no refund. Have disputed it with the bank as I've clearly been scammed and didn't get anything nearly out of this for what I paid for. I've reached out to two other dog trainers. One saw him 4 days after he left their facility to confirm what was and wasn't trained. They've confirmed whatever Enzo's claims to have trained him for potty training and kennel training were false. He howls for hours in his kennel and still had accidents. Total waste of $2,500. Save your money, go somewhere else if you want anything trained into your dog that isn't "sit"
