I met with Abbie and she was soo unbelievably kind, helpful and patient with me. She spent so much time reviewing options and pointed out that there were natural stones that were at a similar price point. (At the end of our meeting, she said "I know you're going to get a natural stone!") She gave me some stone yards to go look and she was right - I fell in love with a stone and it is my favorite part of my entire remodel. I can seriously look at it for hours. Once I picked the stone, Amanda scheduled an appointment to determine the layout of the slabs. She knocked it out of the park! I can't believe how beautifully they fit together. She also said I had quite a bit of stone left and suggested that I use it on another vanity. So glad she did because I love my stone and it made the prefab vanity look way better! When the cabinets were in, Chad came to do the measurements to begin fabrication. They stick to their schedules and I appreciate it so much! Install went great and I am so happy with the final product. Key Points: 1.) Great people that you are happy to give your business to. 2.) Transparent pricing. It was also lower than the other quotes I got. 3.) BLG also had a great selection of remnants at a great price. I got a beautiful marble for my primary bath that I also love! They had so many options! 4.) Their communication is prompt and top notch. 5.) Their ability to determine lay-outs, book match and deliver! 6.) What makes this place special is that the entire team at BLG is great. Seriously, all of them. How's this for a review?…read more Kevin installed laminate countertops for us in 2013. 9 years ago. Unreal. I still have our emails. I asked a million questions, even after Kevin was done and gone. I even questioned his choice of overhang. Sadly, I was one of "those" customers. The countertops are still going strong. No issues at the seams or edges. We love our faux marble countertops he installed in our kitchen. They are high gloss, which even the mfg. suggested against because over time they accumulate what they call checks. Nothing more than tiny lines only seen at the perfect angle. Who cares, they look great. Funny thing. We spent months looking at granite and marble. We were sure that blue pearl granite was the be-all and end-all. Then it was some dessert something or other granite. Then it was marble, then it was quartz. Gotta have quartz! At that time granite was like $55 sq ft, builder grade quartz was similar. We were looking at several thousands of dollars and we couldn't even make up our mind on the color or material. Then one day we realized that we really use our kitchen. We cook a lot, more than once per day most days. That's when we got smart and looked at all of the laminate options. Laminate is tough, low cost, looks good, and if you want to change colors or sheen, big deal, we could do that 5 times and still be less than the overpriced alternatives. JL assured me that their experienced installers could remove my granite without any damage to my backsplash. But not only that, their price was the best of all four well known Austin companies. In fact, since I was getting Taj Reale from Stratus I saw that several companies marked up the price for the same slab that they all were getting from the same slab yard.
