My Ellicott City Dentist - Dr. Andrew Aziz

Every time we go the staff is friendly and they even held my baby one visit. The facility is clean and they're always on time. Would highly recommend!

Avoid this office at all costs -- the most fraudulent medical practice I've ever encountered…read more When we first called, the receptionist clearly said they are a participating provider for our insurance. Later, we found out that only the office is enrolled -- not the doctors. That's completely misleading and feels like a deliberate trick. They also refused to schedule a dental appointment unless I prepaid -- asking me to physically bring a $168 check to their office. When I called to confirm, they used my own birthdate to verify their records -- meaning anyone could call, say my name, and receive my personal information. So much for patient privacy. During a routine cleaning, they took four X-rays (covered by insurance) but now want $40 just to release those images to me. I also suspect long-term fraud. Even though it was my first time there, their records falsely showed I'd been a patient since 2012. I initially chose this office based on all the glowing 5-star reviews, most of them are vague and sound copied. Why in the hell people will come here to leave perfect copy-pasted reviews? How this place is still in business is beyond me. Something is very wrong here. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [UPDATE after owner's reply]: Rather than addressing the serious concerns I raised -- like insurance misrepresentation, privacy risks, and unusual billing practices -- your response attempts to shift the conversation to my alleged behavior. That is a deflection, not accountability. When I arrived at your office, I said: "Hello, I have an appointment at 2:15." Your staff said no appointment was found. I asked, "Do I have to go home?" and upon hearing "Yes," I replied "Thank you" and quietly left. There was no confrontation or accusation of fraud in person. Over the phone, we asked to schedule an appointment without prepayment -- a standard expectation for most dental practices. Your staff instead insisted I bring a check or cash in advance, in person. In response, I suggested two options: that someone from your office could collect the check, or that I could drop it off after work -- around 9 p.m. That was clearly about delivering payment, not demanding a 9 p.m. appointment. Your team then abruptly ended the call. At no point did I berate, coerce, or threaten your staff. These claims are inaccurate and appear to be an attempt to discredit a legitimate complaint. Instead of taking responsibility or clarifying your policies, you've chosen to attack me personally. That raises even more concerns about how your office operates and treats patients who ask reasonable questions.

Peartree Dental Care - Daniell and Lu

After being a patient at Peartree Dental since moving to Maryland during Covid, I am incredibly…read moredisappointed in my experience... Initially, I lived & worked nearby, and I started Invisalign a couple years later in 2022. I paid thousands in full upfront. This past year, I moved to be closer to my new job in College Park resulting in a longer commute. I've always received great feedback regarding how my teeth are shifting, but I got trays mixed up towards the end of the summer while traveling, which delayed my schedule. I apologized for this. My work schedule + my job now being an hour away contributed to having to reschedule some appointments (in advance). Due to this, I've observed an attitude from their receptionist. There was an instance where I had an urgent work meeting, and I called in advance to reschedule & the receptionist just passive-aggressively chuckled... I'm not sure if this is the same woman who greets me when I arrive, but the receptionist who does is not friendly. I've had to say something to be greeted, and the interaction is dismissive. For my last visit, I sensed agitation during my appointment, which was disheartening since I've been a patient for so long. This is likely because the practice may want to wrap up my treatment since I've already paid in full & I'm so close to being done. Keep in mind, my deadline to complete Invisalign is 2027, but of course, I'd like to wrap up my treatment before that point. The practice may have gotten impatient due to my work schedule/commute, so I decided to then find another practice near me to transfer my treatment there. After seeing two Invisalign doctors for consultations, I was quoted additional thousands to transfer treatment. I reached out to Peartree to figure out the transfer process. I expressed to the practice via email my concerns & why I was exploring another provider. I expressed that I would ideally like to finish the treatment there, but that I also don't want to sense agitation when scheduling & arriving for visits. I was flat out IGNORED. I followed up with a question regarding how many trays I have left, which I was responded to quickly without acknowledgment of the concerns I expressed in my previous email to him. I responded stating that I will absolutely be changing doctors at this point because of my concerns being dismissed & for the transfer documentation to please be forwarded via email. I received a fast response with the form (again not acknowledging my email with concerns). The fact that I am switching Invisalign providers & will be paying additional thousands out of pocket with a new doctor rather than finishing up at Peartree due to poor customer service (when I'm so close to being done) is unfortunate... But this shows how disappointed I am in my experience at this practice as a long-term patient. It's apparent that the practice handles concerns by simply ignoring them, so they go away... especially, when the patient has already paid. Very unfortunate... I do not recommend.
