They did a great job with our Ranger and provided excellent customer service. Would certainly use again and would highly recommend.

I contracted with AT Automotive in Devine, Texas, in May 2024 to repair a misfire on bank 2 of my…read moretruck. I paid approximately $3,500 for repairs, which they diagnosed as a faulty timing chain and sprockets. They claimed that replacing those parts would fully resolve the issue and gave me a 2-year/12,000-mile warranty. Within 2 months, the misfire returned. They claimed it was a loose wire. Two weeks later, on a trip, the same issue came back, and I had to replace a spark plug and boot myself. After the fourth return visit in January 2025, I discovered that my original warranty document had been removed from the visor and replaced with a falsified 1-year warranty -- without my knowledge or consent. Despite repeated attempts to fix the issue, the truck never ran correctly. The misfire continued from the initial repair in May 2024 onward. Over time, the shop changed its story from a wiring issue to faulty fuel injectors, then to warped valve heads -- yet no diagnosis was ever confirmed, and they provided no evidence. Upon my own inspection, I discovered: Oil leaking from the driver-side valve cover. The passenger-side valve cover patched with cement -- a clear sign of improper repair. Both valve covers were removed during the timing chain repair. Any damage during removal and their improper reinstallation caused additional oil leaks and misfires. Only one valve cover was replaced in late January -- well after the truck had failed again. The truck has never overheated, so the claim of "warped heads" is false. Despite this, the shop continued to withhold the vehicle and added new costs unrelated to the original issue. In July, I called for an update and was told the engine was open and being worked on. I visited the shop in person and found: The truck abandoned in the back lot. Vines growing into the engine bay -- proof it had not been touched in months. The battery was dead, cables missing, the truck unsecured, and no sign of any work being done. I've called monthly for nearly a year. They never once called me back. Every update came only after I initiated contact. After a full year, they still have my truck. Most recently, they claimed banks 4 and 6 were now misfiring, contradicting my own scan showing bank 2 -- the same original issue -- remains unresolved. They even claimed my computer scanner was wrong. This shop changed diagnoses repeatedly, withheld the vehicle, falsified documents, and never provided the promised repairs. I would not recommend this business to anyone. they responed through google the first time in months but never called my attorney, their response - A T Automotive 2 (Owner) 6 hours ago We take concerns like this very seriously and regret that this customer feels dissatisfied with their experience. Our goal has always been to provide quality repairs and clear communication, and we're sorry if we fell short in that regard. Due to the complexity of engine diagnostics and repairs, some issues can require multiple steps to fully identify and resolve. That said, we would welcome the opportunity to review this matter directly and work toward a resolution. We encourage the customer to contact us at the shop and ask for management so we can discuss the situation in detail and determine the best path forward. We value every customer and appreciate feedback that helps us improve. This statement does not reflect the reality of what happened. I paid $3,500 for repairs that were never completed, and my truck sits on your lot for 12 months without resolution. Despite multiple calls and visits, I received no clear communication or results. The issue I originally brought it in for -- a misfire -- was never fixed. After claiming the timing chain was the problem (and charging for it), the issue persisted, and later diagnostics revealed additional problems caused by improper reassembly, including stripped valve cover bolts. A formal demand letter was delivered to you by certified mail and email. You acknowledged receipt but failed to respond by the deadline, nor did you arrange for the return of my vehicle. I have retained documentation, communications, mechanical reports, and legal correspondence showing the full history of this matter. At this point, your claim of "welcoming the opportunity to resolve" appears disingenuous. I welcome actual accountability, not another delay tactic.

I dropped the car off at 10 AM and was asked if I needed it back the same day. I said no, I wasn't in a rush. Later that day, just before closing around 5:50 PM, they called to let me know they wouldn't be able to get to the car until Monday. I was fine with that since I understand shops get busy. Monday comes around and I don't hear anything all day. I get a call around 5:45 PM saying they tested the AC twice and it was "blowing cold." They said they'd test it again in the morning. They also mentioned adding UV dye to the system, supposedly to check for leaks. From what I gathered, they probably didn't actually check for leaks since they felt the air was cold enough. On Tuesday, May 20, I received a text at 10 AM saying the car was ready for pickup and that the shop closed at 6. I showed up around 1 PM and spoke with Jesse, who told me they tested the AC a third time that morning and it was blowing cold. I paid \$270, got an itemized receipt showing they added R134a, and left. As I left the shop and turned onto Hwy 90 back to San Antonio, I rolled the windows down, turned the AC on full blast, and rolled the windows back up after about a minute. It took about 15 minutes for the car to go from warm to cool, and it never really got cold. Honestly, it felt the same as before. There was no noticeable difference, and I feel like I wasted my time and money. I wish they had just checked for a leak and tested the car during the hotter part of the day when the system is under real pressure. Testing early in the morning or in the shade does not reflect how the AC performs in real driving conditions (they said that they drove it but again, I don't know when that was exactly). If they tested it three times and still think that air is "blowing cold," then something's off. I will most likely not be bringing my wife's car back to this place. I expected better communication, more accurate diagnostics, and results that matched what I was told.

They "power washed" under the car but could not find the leak. However, when we brought the car home is it leaking as it was before we brought it in. Disappointed that the issue was not resolved.

I'll bullet point it to make it easier to read: -I had my engine replaced -It didn't last a year -They blamed me for putting "Stop Leak" in the radiator. No idea what that is. -The radiator was perforated. Which could have only happened when they installed it. -They claimed I voided the warranty -My son of under 1 years old was in the truck during the summer when I had to pull over in the heat of the day. That's extremely dangerous. -I called multiple times and was promised a call back. Never received one. -They claimed they were changing shops and missed my calls. I talked with a person. -When I had my uncle out to help, we discussed and Junior tried to shut the hood on my uncle's hand. -I eventually had to give up on my truck because they would not return my calls. -This is the worst spot I could ever recommend going to. Junior is either a bad manager/owner or his team isn't good. I lost my truck because after multiple months of calling, they would not return my call. This is the worst I've been treated by any business. What was ironic was Junior stated he is not a crooked mechanic. He actually is and this is a crooked business. You can drive 15 minutes anywhere and not be affected like I was. Absolutely the worst I've ever come across. If I need to provide the phone log, it would be easy. Dude came recommended. Junior apparently isn't like his dad and very willing to screw you over. Again, I lost a vehicle over this. It was potentially worth 13k and I spent 3,500$$$ to have an engine put in that didn't work. They lied and won't return phone calls. I'm not the only comment on here that states that.
