I guess we're fortunate that our 20+ year old front unit kicked the bucket before the summer began. Sean from Fusion Star has an uncanny ability to not just diagnose issues with a central air unit but also your house's ductwork and vents- whoever flipped our house before we got it did a pretty terrible job repurposing the existing unit with completely mismatched ductwork and (Sean's words) "Mickey Mouse" wiring. Sean took his time to talk us through proposed changes to the system and sent over an incredibly detailed project proposal. He explained the reasoning behind each of the items in the proposal and did not pressure us into any of the more expensive add-ons; he just let the proposal speak for itself. His team and the subcontractors he brought on were professional and left no trace after leaving. 3+ months after the installation, the best compliment I have for their work is we no longer even think about our 2 central air units. Our house is just comfortable all the time; the 'old' rear unit with the new ductwork and vents is operating much more quietly and efficiently and the new front heat pump is basically silent when it runs- you only notice it's on when you walk under a vent and feel a gentle breeze. Highly recommended.

The first company I called I asked if he did repairs or only replacement systems. He said, "I do repairs. That's why it's in the name!" "Great!" I thought. When he checked our system he told me the compressor was bad, which was expected. I asked if he could replace it with a new or reconditioned compressor, but he said no, because the system was about 10 years old and used an older refrigerant. He said the only option wasto replace the entire system. He also said we had an asbestos-wrapped pipe that would need to be removed by another company before he could do the work. He offered to get me in contact with that company, but never did, even after I followed up. So, in the meantime I decided to call Mike's Air. It was late on a Friday. We had Slava out by Monday. He checked the system, confirmed the compressor was bad, and gave me a very different answer: yes, the compressor could be replaced. He was straightforward about the pros and cons of buying an entirely new system vs just replacing the compressor. No selling. Just facts. The price for replacement was very reasonable compared to a full system, so I figured it only has to last about 4 years for it to pay off vs buying a new system now. I gave the deposit and about a week later the compressor arrived. Slava came out the very next day -- on a Saturday -- and installed it. Everything is working again and we couldn't be happier. Not just cuz we saved money (short-term), but I felt confident that Slava was doing a professional job. What impressed me most was that Slava/Mike's Air actually gave us a repair option instead of automatically pushing a full replacement. Slava was knowledgeable, straightforward and professional throughout the entire process, as was Rhea back at Mike's. Highly recommended.

Tech came out and was very nice and respectful of my property. He had to go into the attic and found that the cover was dislodged. He put the cover back on and A/C worked! Was an easy fix but he didn't try to con me and told me the truth. After, he checked the cooling temperature and measured the level of coolant. Gave me straight answers with no bs. Walked him out and asked how much I owed. He told me it's on the house since it was a simple fix. AMAZING customer service and quality interaction. Absolutely top notch. THANK YOU for being honest and providing great service.

Every HVAC company I called either didn't answer or was booked out for weeks. AOL Heating & Air was completely different. Avi, the manager, genuinely cared about our situation and made sure a technician was sent out the very same day. Christian and his associate arrived promptly, were incredibly professional, and quickly diagnosed the issue. After multiple other HVAC companies told us we needed a brand-new compressor that would cost us thousands of dollars, Christian found the actual problem and repaired our condenser in just 30-40 minutes. Not only did they save us thousands of dollars, but they restored our air conditioning and had cold air flowing through our vents again the same day. Their honesty, expertise, and compassion are hard to find these days. If you're looking for an HVAC company that truly cares about its customers, provides honest assessments, and doesn't try to sell you repairs you don't need, AOL Heating & Air is the company to call. Thank you, Avi, Christian, and the entire team, you turned an incredibly stressful situation into a huge relief!

Michael handled all the business and clearly explained to me in my home what equipment options were available (all Lennox via Costco) and what payment options and benefits were available to Costco members. I took a few different estimates from other companies and although I found comparable equipment and installations that might have priced out cheaper than Around the Clock, the benefits received from Costco for CostcoCash along with direct cash refunds made them very appealing. Michael is very patient in the process of answering any and all questions regarding the equipment, installation, etc. The installation was smooth and painless. The team of two installers were polite and professional. They worked clean which is greatly appreciated. The installation took about a day and a half. End result: I'm very satisfied with my experience with Around the Clock. A very professional installation with great customer service. The new system has completely transformed the comfort level of my home. It's already been battle tested in this SGV summer and I couldn't be happier. If you're on the fence in deciding whether or not Around the Clock is a vendor you'd like to use, I whole heartedly recommend them.

But, I timed the visit, and it was a few minutes under an hour, and that included everything; the estimate and repair labor. The bill was $ 758.00 for that hour. I talked to the repairman about the cost of parts versus labor and he said they were not separated out. I talked to the business owner later on. He said that of the $758, the parts were about $80....although I found Amazon is cheaper. He did go through his costs with me, stating they were part of the job, but most had nothing to do with the repair but rather, costs of running a large corporation ......costs such as .....employee benefits ......travel time to and from the job ......office management ......payments on his fleet of trucks, my guess ......profit for the owner that the worker never receives. On the other hand, the costs of a self-employed serviceman would be parts and labor only, in his bill, usually $50-$100 an hour plus parts. So, bottom line, it was a simple job with cheap parts which I accepted ....trusting that it would require more time and cost than it actually did. My bad, I should have gotten another estimate, which means a second cost for a second estimate, but in this case I should have paid it. SINCE I KNEW THE REPAIR THAT WAS NEEDED, I SHOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO BARGAIN A BIT LOWER WITH SUBSEQUENT CONTRACTORS... SOMETHING I WILL REMEMBER IN MY FUTURE CONTRACTED JOBS. My view, everything was legal, but the service of a large air conditioning company should be noticeably cheaper or else it offers no benefit to offset the cost. I saw no such benefit. Finally, I would encourage you to talk to the owner, he's pleasant and well spoken. He will have a lot to say.
