Not just once, I'm talking weeks of constant badgering. I was initially very interested, but the lack of professionalism I experienced makes me never want to step foot at this business. When we signed the 12-month contract, I specifically asked what would happen if he lost interest. At his age, that's always a possibility. We were told by one of the coaches that early cancellation would result in a one- to two-month penalty. Based on that representation, we signed. After four months, we decided to withdraw him because we were not satisfied with the quality of his training. When I informed the school and the owner, Steve, that we intended to cancel, I was told we would have to pay half of the remaining contract balance. That was not clearly stated in the agreement as we understood it, nor was it what we were told at enrollment. When I raised this discrepancy, Steve stated the coach had been "misinformed" and "misspoke." After I remained firm on canceling, communication stopped. That raised serious concerns about transparency and accountability. The more troubling issue happened later at a NAGA tournament. After leaving Odin's Hall, there was a break in my son's training while we searched for a new academy. He then joined Cobrinha and registered for the novice, no-submission division (white belt, six months and under training). At the tournament, we were informed that a coach from Odin's Hall contacted the organization claiming my son should be bumped up to the beginner division (with submissions) because he had trained over six months at their gym and had prior wrestling experience. This was inaccurate. * He trained at Odin's Hall for four months. * We had email documentation confirming the cancellation timeline. * There was a gap in training before he joined his new academy. * The brief wrestling class he attended was actually a requirement at Odin's Hall for their competition team -- and all of their students participate in wrestling. What shocked me most was the attempt to move a seven-year-old into a submission division when they knew they had never taught him submissions. This tournament division was specifically six months and under, novice, no-submission for safety reasons. Moving him up would have exposed him to techniques he had not been trained to defend against. As a parent, that is extremely concerning. Youth martial arts programs should prioritize child safety and development above rivalry or competitive positioning.

They played decent music. Nothing too heavy nothing too crazy. I just joined with my daughter. Both of us are really enjoying it. The classes are about 45 minutes just enough to get you pumped up and get your heart moving. First class is $20 to try it out and after that, you can pay monthly fee to get as many classes as you want. I recommend as many classes as you want. It's in a Shopping center, so plenty of parking. The parking lot is well lit and there's an Albertson's right there in case you need to pick up some thing that take home for dinner.

Having a teenage daughter (13 yo) that likes to stay in her bubble is a challenge. During summer…read morebreak, I wanted to find an activity that will get her active physically and mentally. It wasn't easy finding a place that tailors to teenagers (youth) since most of the martial arts businesses I've researched had smaller kids or adults. And to find a place that had some female students so that my daughter can easily relate with (girl standpoint). Long story short, the very first day of class, she had a huge meltdown outside of the studio not wanting to go through with it. There were a couple older kids who helped talk to her, calm her down, and pretty much "handheld" her into trying the class. Thankfully she got through it. Big thanks to John, Caesar, Bianca, and Stephanie. You guys are awesome! Fast forward 6 months later, my daughter has made new friends and has gained a lot more confidence. She enjoys coming to class especially when Sensei Dave teaches (the buff one haha). She says he's funny and cool. But actually everyone helps out, which is nice. Tip *** the studio gets extremely crowded once a class has ended. Just wait for a about 5-10 mins after and seats should open up.
