Had my first visit last week for a cut and color with @kimberlystyles517. Kimberly Allen and Devil's Haircut is my new go-to. They have a great atmosphere that's edgy but welcoming, but most importantly: affordable, socially conscious and talented stylists. To get a great cut and color at an affordable price is rare and I feel like I found a gem of a place before word has gotten out, or maybe it's just me that's late to the party. Devil's haircut is in the little strip of businesses across from Polly's country market on Main Street/M52. All of the professional hair care products they carry are under $20. Unbelievable! Lynae is deft at her craft. I've never had to return to have a cut adjusted, as happens often with the shorter styles I prefer. She gets it right the first time. Everytime, the cut is flattering and I receive compliments. Love this business! read more

Such a positive place to be! This is the only place I trust with my hair and I'm very picky. Everybody is so nice and friendly and down to earth. Moved to the area about a year ago and had been traveling back to the metro Detroit area to have my very thick pixie cut trimmed. Unforeseen events finally forced my hand and I scheduled an appointment with Rachel. Rachel knocked it out of the park. I walked out loving it, she kept it exactly how I wanted, and it has kept its shape perfectly. I'll be back for a trim every 5 weeks with Rachel, and am so pleased I took the plunge. I was in desperate need of a haircut (most recent was about 1 1/2 years) and so I looked for a place locally online. I booked an appointment online which was nice and easy for this busy mama. My stylist was Callie and she was super sweet. She listened to what I wanted and also gave suggestions along the way. She didn't seem overwhelmed by my massive amount of hair & quickly got to work. The results were amazing and I was so pleased. I could barely recognize myself. Callie was patient enough to show me how she did the soft waves. When it came to pay, I could not believe the price. I had a wash, cut & style for $39 which is crazy! This will be my go to place & I highly suggest. read more

I just wanted to update this review to reflect that the cut was also horrible. When I first wrote the review I hadn't really assessed it yet and was optimistic that at least the cut was ok. There were random chunks of hair missing in the back that were supposed to be layers but made no sense whatsoever. Worst haircut of my life. read more

I go to Katherine, who is a gifted stylist. She respects your need for talking or not during your appointment, works with you to figure out how to make your cut and color work for you, and is otherwise one of the sweetest people on the planet! Came here as a part of a bridal party. Very efficient, friendly, and quality service. The staff get along and work together so well. It's a great environment to be in! The bride and her bridesmaids had great hair styles that lasted throughout the night. I let my stylist know that my hair doesn't hold curls long and she found some kind of product she felt confident with; my impossible-to-curl hair stayed curled! They accommodated 6 of us (bride and her mother included) and one of us did her own hair using the mirrors they had around the salon (which they were fine with). They let us bring in our own breakfast items and were even willing to help with the cleanup!! Above and beyond! This was the first time I have ever paid to have my hair done for an event so I don't know how they compare in that way. I will say I paid $65 (which included some champagne and coffee). read more

My second hair cut from this salon and I have officially changed where I get my hair cut!!! I have twin boys and my husband and I went to get a hair cut together. They made us so comfortable, offered beverages and even had toys for the boys. Lynae made amazing suggestions and had a very light humor. No awkward moments like I have at other salons. It's a cool place, don't get me wrong. The salon looks trendy and the stylists are friendly. But I reserved online for an appointment for $25, and the bill came to $37. Not cool. They said it's because they washed my hair, but 1) I never asked for it, nor was I asked if I wanted it. I was just told to come over here, they're washing my hair. And 2) an extra $10 for a hair wash? Are you kidding me? There's no way I would have agreed to that. I'm in college and don't have much money to spare, so while this might not seem like a ton of money, it hurts a tight budget. In the end, it cost over $40 with a tip to have maybe two inches of hair trimmed off. Will not go here again. read more

This place is the best around! Not only was I treated to a coffee while I waited for my stylist, I was also provided a family friendly play room for my twins! My stylist was helpful in finding me a nice short cut that still accommodated my hairline! You will love the good music and great staff! read more
