They DID NOT do what they say were going to do. The IOS was NOT updated to see if that would fix it. The laptop (MacAir) was still PW protected with a PW we didn't know, when I went to pick it up. The LAPTOP they were bugging me for days about picking up was NOT ready. They had to load the IOS which would take 35-45 minutes. When I returned to get the updated LAPTOP I found out they decided to add AVAST Security software WITHOUT my permission. Had they asked I would have declined the offer. BUT once again the STUPID CUSTOMER is not given a choice since DEVICE PROS knows what is best for them and their LAPTOP. I WILL NEVER go back to them for any electronic repairs. I will give filing a formal complaint with the NEX as well. Full story below... Computer was locked when I dropped it off. They said they needed to reload the software and unlock the computer but that would wipe the HD clean. I gave them the okay to do that. The intake service rep said that it was necessary because "That might be the only thing that is wrong with the computer and it will COST YOU LESS MONEY, if we install the newest IOS." I told him it had been dropped. It was not an IOS problem. But he insisted that the software needed to be updated. The FIX not an IOS issue. It had liquid damage. The board had corrosion and when it was DROPPED some of the components came loose. But STUPID customer doesn't know anything. So I got a call almost two weeks ago, after they had the computer for two weeks, that it was ready for pickup. Today I went to the store and the computer was locked with a PW that we DID NOT KNOW which is why we had authorized the HD be wiped clean. They insisted I didn't give them permission to reload the IOS and wipe the HD. It was a different service rep and she did not know first hand what was said, but again wanted to argue with me about it. Finally she agreed to wipe it clean which would take 35-45 minutes. When I returned she gave me the new password for the updated IOS and told me they had also put ANTI-VIRUS software on the computer too. I did not authorize them to add their ADDITIONAL software AVAST Security "Free version" with an upgrade to AVAST Security PRO for $60 per year. I am not happy, I will never recommend or return for service from them. Now I have spent the past hour downloading and will spend another hour reloading and working through the software setup just to COMPLETELY remove the UNWANTED anti-virus software that has .... you can pay for this add-ons. ABSOLUTELY NOT...! Avoid DEVICE PROS. read more

This would have been 5 stars but it just took me so long to find the stand, it's not an actual building, it's within a huge room filled with businesses of food, so if you see food you're in the right building. I'm giving a 4 star review because all though I'm happy the service was not worthy of 5 stars, to start I sent a request on yelp for screen service and they responded right away and asked a follow up question we agreed on a price and they gave me the address. I went a day later as I work in different parts of SD an it varies day to day. When I got to the address it was a huge market with tons of shops inside so I went to the you are here board and looked for device pros and they were not on the board. I sent a message asking where they were and found they were by a coffee shop inside a bigger store and they are a very small kiosk inside. No worries there but a better description would have been appreciated when I was give address to be able to know what I'm looking for when I arrived. I got inside told the guy I'm an elite yelper I do that up front so they know I will be writing a review and hopefully having a 5 star experience and helping let others know about their business. The store had a new employee that day that was going to start training and the manager told me that I could pay now and pick up my phone within the hour or tomorrow whatever was more convenient for me. I paid and was told I would be emailed a receipt and texted when phone was ready. I never got a text or email that day the next day I sent a message asking if the phone was ready and was told it was and they open at 11 am. I got to the store about 11:15 and there was yet a different person there I said I was there to pick up phone and she said that she would ring me up I said I already paid I had to open my banking app up to show her the charge from the other day and then the text conversation that I had about picking up my phone. She was pleasant and apologized gave me the phone and said I would get the receipt shortly which I did get. So look the screen only cost me 59 bucks and they did a good job and in the end everything worked out but 5 star service was good directions , receipt day I paid, text when phone was ready not me having to call. But again great price I would go back and with two teenage daughters I'm sure I will have to and hopefully next time it is a 5 star experience. read more
