From our first meeting and tour of the school, I felt so much support and really sensed that they understand teens today. The principal, Andy Smallman, took his time to describe how the program and classes worked at Spring Academy, and I was very impressed with how he was able to connect with my daughter. Over the course of the two-month program, my daughter really enjoyed her teacher, Hailey, and really appreciated the one-on-one component of the school. She was able to make up the credits needed and is now attending her senior year at her public school to graduate with her friends. The Children's Institute has been a life-saver in terms of allowing him a safe place to learn these skills as well as move on academically. They are able to accept him the way he is and have never called me to come and get him. If he does have outbursts, they are able to staff to allow time for someone to spend time with him out of the classroom without putting him by himself in the "quiet room" Plus, he loves it there! I highly recommend this school if your child is not doing well in a traditional public school due to emotional/behavioral differences.

Yes, insurance didn't fully cover the cost and we still had to pay quite a bit out of pocket. Yes, initially were on a six months long wait list but due to a cancellation we were able to get him in three months after we initially put our referral in. The doctor (psychologist) that we were paired up with to complete the multi-day test is amazing and she is still an occasional resource for us to this day. She helped introduce us to great providers and more importantly gave us hope that with proper therapy our child will develop to his full capability.

They had such a great time following instruction on how to build their project and fun testing it out.
