I can honestly say that I've walked out of every one before this one not knowing WHAT I would do in an actual emergency situation except maybe have a heart attack myself. I went in with emails to read etc expecting a DVD led class and a half-asleep instructor who hands out a written test at the end that an average 12-year-old could pass. This was different than any class I've ever attended. I was glued to the instructor, Luis, the entire way through. He put the information in familiar terms and situations that you WILL remember in a life and death situation. I never realized how easy the concepts were and that even I could be instrumental in saving someone's life in an emergency situation until now. I am so thankful for the amount of effort and strategy Luis put I to this recertification class. I will never think of taking another one again anywhere else. The difference is unmeasurable, I can't believe other courses are allowed to keep teaching the same mundane way when there are classes like this available. I got home today and practiced what I learned some more, fully confident I would be able to handle a real life situation if god forbid it ever arises! I looked and read about a lot of different places but most seemed to be boring, or there wasn't enough one on one attention. I have no previous medical background so It was important that the teacher who taught me was patient and basically taught me everything as if I had never heard or done CPR before since I actually hadn't! Also, my mom who babysits my son had to be certified also, she doesn't know English so when looking for teachers I made sure the person would be bilingual. When I called this place, Mary herself answered and we spoke for 40 minutes. Right away I knew I wanted to get certified with her. She came to my home and brought all the equipment. She was patient with my mom and basically did the class in English for my boyfriend and I and Spanish for my mom. She taught us everything we needed to know. She brought actual dummies to practice CPR and brought an AED and taught us how to use it. Doing all this in the comfort of my own home was priceless. Mary has so much knowledge, she was a nurse for many years and before that a medic. We are all very satisfied with Mary and I will recommend her a million times over!
