I've renewed my BLS for healthcare provider certificate by attending this same course 4 other times…read morein the last decade at other training sites, usually whatever is closest, cheapest, and most convenient at the time. I can honestly say that I've walked out of every one before this one not knowing WHAT I would do in an actual emergency situation except maybe have a heart attack myself. I went in with emails to read etc expecting a DVD led class and a half-asleep instructor who hands out a written test at the end that an average 12-year-old could pass. This was different than any class I've ever attended. I was glued to the instructor, Luis, the entire way through. He put the information in familiar terms and situations that you WILL remember in a life and death situation. I never realized how easy the concepts were and that even I could be instrumental in saving someone's life in an emergency situation until now. I am so thankful for the amount of effort and strategy Luis put I to this recertification class. I will never think of taking another one again anywhere else. The difference is unmeasurable, I can't believe other courses are allowed to keep teaching the same mundane way when there are classes like this available. I got home today and practiced what I learned some more, fully confident I would be able to handle a real life situation if god forbid it ever arises! Thank you thank you thank you, Luis and company!

I signed up for BLS and PALS classroom renewal courses and my instructor for both was Marcus…read more Before I have to complain about many things, I wanted to note that Marcus' teaching was clear, concise and straightforward, and I was thankful for it. However, a big problem that me and many of people on here experienced was his punctuality. For my BLS class, he was around 30 minute late to the Pembroke Pines site, and the classroom was locked from the outside (see the picture below). And for my PALS class, it turned into an online (Zoom) class because he said he wasn't feeling well. However, he kept me wait for almost 25 minutes before he showed up on the Zoom. I understand that he has another job and things can be unpredictable, but having all these tardiness all this time is not acceptable. Especially he kept us waiting for half an hour or more. That was just one of the problems I encountered. Now the second one. After I finished the PALS course, I had to keep urging him (texting and emailing) multiple times before he finally emailed me my PALS certificate. This wasn't expected because he told me I'd receive it the next day, and I received my BLS certificate same-day right after my course. Frustrating. Now the courses themselves. For BLS since the classroom was locked, he made the course happen outdoors on the ground level of the building. It was hot outside. I was doing the chest compressions on the manikin drenched in sweat. Luckily the course ended timely so I didn't suffer a heat stroke. And for PALS he just let me do a 50-question written test. No demonstration of skills on a manikin at all, and no hands-on skills test for this course. I remember doing certain procedures like IO access when I did my first PALS training 2 years ago. In summary I went to his BLS and PALS courses because they were one of the affordable ones on AHA. If you are budgeting like me, it won't hurt to train with Marcus but you will have a lot to go through like many of us on here. If you don't mind the expensive costs of the trainings, do yourself a. favor by finding other courses. I gave 2 stars because I was eventually given my 2 certificates without passing the hospital's deadlines.

That said, perhaps I am not far along enough, but did not find anything too challenging. After reading so much about staying active and getting your heart rate up this is better than nothing, but do not come intending to break a sweat. At $33 per class the manager should purchase new pink mats as I was forced to buy toe socks for "sanitary reasons". The mats were full of holes and stained and not cleaned between classes- big turnoff...*especially* for someone concerned with sanitary issues. ... The toe sock requirement should have been mentioned on mindbody (there are a number of opportunities on MB to do so) prior to booking or in the LONG text message I received with directions. I have never worn toe socks to pilates before...but like I said it is not really pilates. Given the lack of prenatal offerings in the area I see why this gets glowing reviews, it is nice to be able to socialize with other mothers. Also I was charged $20 for what is $16 on Amazon. All the classes were great but I especially loved baby massage and Jessica's sleep workshop because it has helped me bond with my children and help them sleep on their own which makes me a better mother, wife, person overall. I highly recommend them for all moms - new or experts. Sleep is so important for little ones and having the tools I learned in baby massage and the sleep workshop have helped my husband and I get much needed sleep.
