I had my first appointment with Cassie to do a biolage for my hair. I was really excited, but didn't understand the process. She was amazing and great and understanding when my hair came out, it wasn't what I thought it was supposed to be. I should have taken her advice, but I didn't and I was disappointed in myself. I made a second appointment to get what I actually wanted and what she had originally suggested I couldn't make my first appointment rescheduled for three weeks after I showed up to the salon and wait for Cassie to come in, I live an hour away from salon Cassie came in. I smiled at her and she gave me a weird funny book. Kind of like I recognize you, but who are you and why are you smiling at me and then she called the other customer to her chair and they started conversation I rechecked my phone in the text to make sure I had the right date and time , and then called out to Cassie and asked her she forgot my appointment. I don't think I've been looked at like that in my entire life Like I've lost my mind and I had no right and even saying anything to her Cassie walked to the back and checked her phone and said oops, my bad. it's OK don't worry I can take both of you right now very snidely. I asked how long the appointment was going to be. She said 3 1/2 hours like last time but last time was 4 1/2 hours so I'd be looking at 5 1/2 hours for her to do my hair and someone else's hair and when I tried to explain. I had a baby shower to go to which was two hours away. She looked at the other client and said don't worry that she (myself)couldn't make the appointment anyway I can just do your hair. at that point I just picked up my stuff and left, cried in my car I couldn't believe I drove an hour to get my hair done and I've never felt so disrespected and humiliated in my entire life. so no I won't be going back. which is unfortunate because I thought the 1st Cassie was nice the one who didn't recognize me not so much read more

I am a loyal Aveda customer and just moved to the area. I was referred to Cyndi as being an Aveda specialist. There is no question that she really knows the products and takes pride in that. My hair is baby fine and ultra straight - and she was hell-bent on making it look thicker. She put way too much and too many products in, and also back-combed/teased my hair - so I ended up with a desert-dry tangled mess. The cut was very nice though, and we talked about not trying so hard to make my hair something it just isn't, so I was willing to have a second appointment, since I love the product line and this salon has the best Aveda inventory in Stockton. Then, Cyndi just disappeared. She texted me the morning of my return appointment that she had some sort of disagreement with her boss (the owner, I think), and had been locked out of the salon. She then texted me that she was going to go to another Aveda salon in the area and would let me know when she started working there (within a week or two). I never heard from her again. Not wanting to get in the middle of whatever drama was playing out here, I found another place for my next appointment that sells (limited selection) and uses Aveda products. My experience here was odd. I won't be going back, but I'm not sure if I recommend it to others as I only went the one time and saw a person who is no longer there (I assume). They have a good selection of Aveda products. The place could use a good clean, and there is a lot of deferred maintenance evident in the salon. read more

First time here not knowing what to expect. My usual hair salon place had a 45 minute wait so I decided to go to Destination instead. Super easy to find- right behind Chuck E Cheeses and parking was easy as well. As soon as I walked in I knew this place was different; the candles burning, all of the cruelty free products they had, and a super sweet team. I had Jasmine wash and cut my hair. I hadn't done anything to it in nearly 2 years. My hair was super dry, I had an itchy scalp due to the weather, and tons of split ends. Jasmine did the best scalp massage on me with with an incredible shampoo & conditioner to help my hair. After cutting to my new desired length & blow drying my hair, I was super happy with how much more stronger & healthier my hair had become. Jasmine was super sweet and made me feel incredibly relaxed the entire time. Plus we're around the same age so we immediately clicked. I was here to get my hair cut with a male in his late 40s and for his age you would think he would have tons of experience. At the end of the day I had to go get my hair fixed across the street at VIP Salon. To my surprise the hair cut was so so cheap compared to what I paid him. I wouldn't care paying if I had a good experience and would keep going back he seemed a bit over his head and made me feel uncomfortable. Cut my hair with no layers to the point that at work they asked me if I was having a bad hair day lol. After I got it fixed at VIP Salon it was good I will go back to VIP any day! read more

I went in to have a Bontanical treatment they have a newer one, at first I was going to get one that I had prior. Cindy explained they have a new product line and updated this treatment my hair felt very soft and it had a shine to it after this treatment I would say compared to the old treatment to the new treatment my hair felt better. I started out by being referred to Cyndi by my mom's stylist in late 2016, and I couldn't be more pleased. It seemed like all the shops I went to or called were afraid to chop off all my hair into a pixie cut. I understand, since it was down to the middle of my back, but I really wanted it done. I got my haircut for the first time in 3.5 years at Sir Gauuan's back in December 2010 &the lady just messed my beautiful long hair up. After that, I became very weary of getting my hair done at another salon. One day, I was talking to one of my sorority sisters who complimented my new hair cut &I explained how much I did not like my hair and wanted to get it cut again. She then referred me to this place (&I'm glad she did!) I walked in on a Wednesday afternoon &after being seated for 10 minutes, a woman named Casey brought me to her station and asked me what I wanted done. I explained to her that I wanted a V-cut in the back, choppy layers, and for my hair to be thinned out because I have really thick hair. I even showed her a picture just to give her an idea. She nodded and seemed enthusiastic about it, then we proceeded to get my shampoo. Now, when you think shampoo, it's just a "quick rinse." NOT HERE. I got my shampoo (which made my hair smell fabulous, btw) BUT I also got a head massage. YES, a head massage. IT. WAS. AMAZING. The shampoo/massage lasted about 8-10 minutes. Then my haircut began. She took well over an hour cutting my hair, but that's only because I was demanding a lot &she had a lot of hair to work with. Although I was not entirely pleased with the haircut, I did admire the effort she put into it &she did accomplish the goals I set for her: she gave me my V, thinned my hair out, and gave me the layers I wanted. She cut my bangs a little too short, but it's okay... they'll grow out. In short, Casey is pretty amazing &I do recommend her to anyone. :] The cut was $30, but I gave her a tip. It seemed like she wanted a bigger tip for the time she worked on my hair, but what can I say... I'm a college student on a budget. I went for the first time today because my husband knew a stylist here. It was pretty easy to find located right behind chuck E cheese. The salon was super clean. Also, I like the modern feel. The stations, for example, are just large mirrors with storage behind for tools and what not. The product was in the center of the salon. Lighting was cool too. They have a unique waiting area with a bar style table with chairs around it and a large stack of magazines. I didn't have to wait though because my stylist was ready and waiting. She was polite and friendly. Her name is Jamie she escorted me to the chair. I felt comfortable in the salon chair. She hung my purse and started the consultation. She did an excellent job. She knew exactly what I wanted making great suggestions based on her observations. Then, while she was working she made me feel comfortable with good conversation. I also, noticed she was just as friendly with her next client while my hair processed. She offered me a glass of water while I waited they have tea and coffee too, but I opted for water. Next, the rinsing process was relaxing. Water was perfect temp and sink was comfortable she did a great job with the scalp massage. The color turned out gorgeous. I was so happy! read more

I wish I'd had a positive experience here. A friend had mentioned this place to me and so I decided to give it a try - not satisfied at all. My hi-lites had an unpleasant brassy color and looked splotchy at the scalp when I put my hair up. I wound up paying over $100 for color, hilites, and a cut and was totally unhappy with all of the above. When I explained it to the stylist I felt like they were more in denial than anything... I wound up getting it fixed elsewhere - a color, hilites, and a cut for a better price and of way better quality. I don't want to bash the stylist individually, so I'll just warn you to beware the entire salon - don't risk the embarassment. read more

I followed my stylist here from her old salon across the street. I had been going to my stylist for over five years, and had always been content with her work. While my stylist still does decent work, I have decided to go back to the old place. I really love her as a person, but the environment at this salon is just not the kind of environment I like to be in for two hours while I am getting my hair done. There are people here who are just snobby - the one woman who I think is a manager or owner or something just belittles you in general - she is condescending. I have fine curly hair, that started to get even thinner with age. For a long years I couldn't find no one, who will cut my hair the way I like. Not because I m picky, not at all, but because not many hairdressers know and understand how to deal with fine curly hair. If you have fine curly hair- you know exactly what I m talking about! I ve even tried DeVa cut, paid such a money- and it was all absolutely uneven and ugly. So, for the past long months a was wearing a hairpiece on a clip to cover all that mess. I had gone to the same lady for years!!!!! As she got older- it seems that I would be in her shop forever and I eventually no longer felt happy with my results.
