Beautiful view of the waterfront but the docks do take up a lot of space in your photo if you're trying to get a water shot on the balcony. It would be nicer if there was more water to view rather than docks and boats. The place is very clean and has a very modern feel. The acoustics were terrible. The entire time we were there, I was shouting to speak and had to lean in each time to speak to anyone. This place is so spacious and little conversations accumulate into a big echoey mess. Pair that with event music, utensils clattering and you get a jumbled mess of sounds. The flooring is also just pure concrete so that didn't help. There was little in the form of sound dampening. The venue is two levels with restrooms being single room washrooms on the first floor. Though the view is nice from the second level, my personal opinion is that a single level is best for any venue so that guests (such as myself) don't feel torn from the event and have to choose between mingling between floors. If you stay on the third floor you have to pay but it's still only $7.95 or so. The kitchen has microwave, reg. fridge, and Kirkland dark coffee we like. (I bring my own decaffe too:-) The staff is great; personable, helped me bring my luggage up without my asking. But know it's European. Hot water took awhile to get to 3rd floor shower...but it's fun to feel like I'm "back to the future" in 1911.... in a novel for a few minutes. I can walk all over town at night in safety and quiet. And this quiet retreat is just what I needed after my spouse's sad and serious diagnosis. I walked nearby beautiful Round Lake Fri. morning and met a new friend, an unexoected dimension, and learned more about resilience facing cancers worse than mine. Count your blessings.

From what my husband and daughters planned the event for several months and the owners were very helpful and accommodating to what my family was trying to pull off. They were very accomodating based on the venue's ability. The communication was excellent and we were provided attentive service. The owners even participated in the ruse to get me there to not spoil the surprise... that is above and beyond. I wish that I could give them a higher rating than 5 stars. I so appreciate that I was able to have my birthday at this beautiful venue. The care and attention that they put into a simple birthday party is refreshing. At one point in the evening one of the owners took time to show my sister in law the grapes and talk to her about the wine production and picking of the grapes that was happening the next week. Yes, this is a working vineyard where the pretty purple and white grapes are not for show, they are made into the amazing wine they sell. They have a very good Pinot. They even grow blackberries there and make a yummy blackberry wine (not too sweet either). We had a few different wines that night and all were good. A few guests even purchased bottles to take home Oh and I can't forget the sunset from the pavilion is spectacular. What a view they have. I am blessed that I was able to have a special celebration there. I want to express my sincere gratitude to them for helping my family make this a birthday to remember.
