The pineapple unfortunately had a slight canned metallic taste, but otherwise, the pizza was delicious. My partner ordered the classic cheesesteak with chicken breast, with sauteéd red bell peppers, red onions, mushrooms & mozzarella on a toasted hoagie roll. And maybe we caught this place on an off day, but for me, this was just... okay. And I genuinely do not understand what the rave reviews are talking about. Coming from Houston, a city with roughly a thousand Indian restaurants where almost every single one delivers, this felt like a real step down. Yes, it's attached to a gas station -- fine, no judgment there. They clearly put effort into making the inside feel a little charming. But our table was sticky and gross, and the bathroom matched. Not exactly the first impression you want. And it left me wondering: if the front of house can't notice -- or doesn't care -- that things are dirty, what on earth is happening back in the kitchen? As for the food, we ordered my personal benchmark trio for judging any Indian restaurant: Samosa Chaat, Palak Paneer, and Dosa (when available). They had all three, so I walked in optimistic -- maybe this sticky-table situation was about to redeem itself. Spoiler: it did not. The Samosa Chaat was fine, no real complaints there. But then my Palak Paneer arrived, and I genuinely did not recognize it. It was a strange brownish color -- think baby poop -- and the flavor bore zero resemblance to any Palak Paneer I've had in my life. I didn't finish it, and if you know me with Indian food, that tells you everything you need to know. My husband's dosa fared a little better, but the chutney tasted off, and there was only one variety with no clear indication of what was even in it -- whatever it was, it wasn't good. Traditionally, we're used to getting both coconut and mint chutney on the side, so this felt noticeably incomplete. Honestly, it was such a letdown that I'm not sure I have it in me to give this place a second shot. The rub is okay, but when a brisket is this dry it's just not worth eating. The other meats are okay. The pork is probably the best thing, and it's just good not great. The ribs were okay too. The sides are about the only reason this has two stars instead of one. The mac and cheese is tasty and well made. The beans are good. Look, I don't write any reviews less than three stars and few less than four stars unless I have visited a place multiple times. Any place can have an off day, and I hate giving lower reviews to small businesses. But this is just NOT good BBQ. And, yes, I know a bit about BBQ, with deep roots in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Italy. I've cooked many briskets. Many. With wood. Cooked many pork butts and ribs. Tons. The broth was rich and had a good hit of black pepper and chili, the sliced beef was tender, and the bowl was generous enough that I had leftovers to bring home even after the extra beef. If you like a heartier noodle, the egg noodle sub is worth it. The spring rolls came out a little uneven on the first pass. Two were hot and crisp, two were noticeably pale and cold in the middle, and you could see the difference on the plate. I mentioned it and they replaced the whole order with four fresh, hot rolls without any fuss. That's how it should be handled and I appreciated it. Two things about the experience worth knowing. First, they have a robot server with a cat face that brings food to the table. It is cute and also mildly unnerving, and I mean both of those as compliments. Second, there was one human server working the entire front of house, and she was as attentive as a single person can be while covering a whole dining room. Not a knock on her at all. Four out of five. Good food, good portions, a quick fix when something came out wrong. Would go back.

The lady who took our order told us there was nothing on the burger except for burger, bacon and cheese, and then asked if I wanted lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles on the side. I asked specifically about the condiments and she said they don't put any condiments on their burgers. The bathrooms and store overall were very clean and very well kept. It felt like good small town America. If it weren't for the egg allergy sauce mixup, they would've gotten four stars.
