Everything I've ordered has been delicious! Chef prepared meals in a relaxed atmosphere. Service is excellent!

This place is super packed. We came in earlier in the day to make a reservation because we weren't able to do it online. When we came to the front the girl said we need to do it online. We had our phone open and said we tried and it wouldn't let us. She continued to say numerous times that she will put it in for now but next time we come we need to do it online. Definitely recommend to make a reservation because when we came back for reservation they were packed to the brim. I ordered the Harvest Shrimp and Grits minus polish sausage. I asked if I could get chicken or extra shrimp in place of the sausage. The guy said I would have to pay extra. That seems silly to pay extra when I am subtracting a protein, they should let me have a protein in place of it. I didn't care what it was, just didn't want the sausage. The end pricing was better than we thought it would be. I would say it's about $20 a person is average. The food was very flavorful though. read more

The food was really good, the service was great, and the beer selection was pretty decent also. This was our second trip here. We happened on it by accident last year.and really liked it. But it wasn't close to where we live so we figured we probably wouldn't make it back. We were headed to a Smokies game and realized it was less than a mile from the new stadium. OMG!! My friends and I checked out their new location and it was phenomenal!! The food came out hot and perfect. My burger was so juicy and exactly what I wanted. I asked for a side of ranch for my fries and they had MULTIPLE ones to choices from! And everything was cheap! I was shocked with how good our food was! They have a long list of brews to choose from. The wait staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. We had the cutest server who was on top of everything and chatted with us a bunch. The hostess was also just so nice when we came and left. Having a welcoming and caring staff makes a world of a difference! We for sure will be back and want to check out the coffee shop during the day! read more

Heard a lot about this place and finally got the chance to try it. Liked a lot about it. First -- it'd get 5 stars as a (somewhat) late-night eatery-- I went there about 10 pm to finish a work assignment, and was able to get my work done via their wi-fi, have a good beer or two and a decent bit of food, without overbearing noise or hassle. There was live music but it wasn't overly loud and I actually enjoyed the band. Had some beers and a pineapple-shrimp-curry thing which was short on the main ingredients and long on rice, but still tasty. And the menu showed a lot of creativity and well beyond the normal bar fare of nachos and wings, for sure. The beer seemed a tad pricey but it was indeed good craft beer. I liked the atmosphere; the service was good and there aren't many places where you can grab good late-night food as well as good beer (and they did have a full bar, I should add). First, I wish half stars were an option because I'd give this place 3.5 stars. Second, I think if we ordered a bit differently there is definitely potential for more stars to be added. Ale Rae's is on our side of town, and it has such great potential, so I want to see this place succeed and become a great North Knoxville standard hang. They offer live music many nights of the week (or all nights). Unless it's just killer music, a casual local live band is not normally what i'm wanting to listen to when I'm out for dinner. For some folks they love the live tunes, we're just not those people. So, we sat outside and although the outdoor area is cozy and cool looking....there was a bad sewer smell that kept wafting about. The menu is actually pretty big - I think several items could be dropped in order to concentrate on making the foodier type items even better. What we ordered had good flavor, but it seemed everything was heavily sauced and cheesed. Tasty - just heavy. Again, I intend to go back and give this place another try. read more

This place is fantastic! The food truck came to my work one afternoon during my lunch break and it looked too good to pass up. I had a hard time deciding what to order because everything looked wonderful. A few of my co-workers ordered the wings and said they were fantastic. I chose the Cajun Remoulade Spidie and it was absolutely delicious! It was full of flavor and steamed to perfection. The workers were very friendly and practiced proper health measures by wearing masks and keeping the area sanitized. I was really excited about this place because I love bar food - and this place seemed like a bar and grill on wheels. I visited when they were at the food truck park on Central Avenue - so there were a few other options. All the people I was with who went to different food trucks got their food before I did, and we all ordered about the same time. The wait was maybe about 10 minutes. Although the wait was a little bit longer I didn't mind because I was so excited about the food. I was kind of disappointed. The burger just tasted kind of plain and the melted cheese was hardened, chewy and hard to eat on the burger. The fries just tasted like they came out of a freezer bag and weren't seasoned too well. If this place was at the ball park or in an area where there aren't a lot of options I would go back. However next time I see them at the food truck park I will go for another option. read more

Ale' Rae was parked at Central Falling Station on Thursday and my good gracious, I was excited. Honestly, it was true restraint to not oder one of everything on the menu. Taste: lip smacking good from bite 1 to the end. I ordered the Maple Bacon Bourbon Sandwich with pork. How did I not know something with two pickle slices on top could have me wishing it would never end. My friend got the Sweet Onion Teriyaki Chicken sandwich and had much of the same sentiments. For the love, order the fancy fries (you will know what I'm talking about on the menu) Overall: fantastic experience. The people on the truck were very helpful, fun to talk to and truly interested in getting you the best tasting food. Excellent food and service. Flat breads and Brussels sprouts were delicious. A Very nice surprise.

First visit, Saturday 4 pm, it has a homey atmosphere. Outside had 2 fire pits with artificial turf and chairs, very nice, under awning 2 nice bars with stools. Inside A lot going on in a small area, with tea & coffee station, several tables, booths, area for band, pool table and couple of dart boards. We ordered couple of brews and the pimento dip, which was awesome, cheesy with salsa mixed in served with chips that were very tasty! One man band was starting up at 5-7, then another band at 7, we weren't able to stay but would have liked to. The only suggestion would be a little more of a welcoming from the staff, our sever didn't tell us her name, didn't ask if we needed any help with the menu, she was very curt and matter fact, maybe she was having a bad day. We went here for a family birthday dinner. The atmosphere is great, the food was amazing and it was great that they have NA beers available for Dry January. The only issue we ran into was our poor server. He was great and very helpful with recommendations but there are not enough servers to table ratio. It was evident by how long it took for our food and how our poor server was running trying to keep up with all his tables. He was clearly a skilled and seasoned server so it had nothing to do with his ability and everything to do with the timing in seating or table to server ratio. The kitchen was backed up and we were starving by the time we got our food. Our reservation for 7 was at 5:30pm and they told us we had to be done eating by 7:30pm because they had a paid event which was fine but I felt anxious about our food not coming prior to that. Overall I love the restaurant but I hope they work out these kinks for the success of their business because I'd love to come back for brunch or to try other things on their menu. read more

Went there tonight, Food very good. Service poor. There were two ladies working as waiters for about 10. -15 tables. Needless to say service very slow. Here is the problem. There were two other waiter employees standing around shooting the breeze with the two owners. During this time our service was very slow due to the only two people working , serving that many tables. What I really don't understand is why the two employees and the two owners were doing nothing while all these tables went unattended. This place is very divey? Shabby Sheik? It's hard to describe, but it's cool. The rock band they had the night we went was amazing. The covers of Journey and Led Zeppelin were spot on. However, don't expect to have a conversation when they're playing. My wife and I sat at the bar. She had a dark beer, I had a red sangria. Mine was excellent. I could actually taste the balance between fruitiness and alcohol. As difficult as it is in Knoxville, they had some really unique dishes. My wife had large fried ravioli stuffed with sort ribs, yummy! I had a shrimp dish which was a cross between tropical and Mexican, covered in a blend of sauces over rice. Excellent! We've been to the food truck many times, and we were excited to go to the brick and mortar location, which finally opened in November 2021. The guy at the door was very nice, but he said we would have to pay with Paypal or Venmo just to get in. My wife thought it was a joke and laughed when he said that. I didn't hear that and almost paid him when he told us it would be $20 ($10 for both of us). I guess it was a cover charge for the band, which wasn't even why we were going there. I've had two prior good experiences and one not so good experience so I have a mixed rating. Much of the food is really good. The atmosphere is nice. The service was great from my one time sitting at the bar and not great when at a table. My bad experience was with a takeout order. It might have been a misunderstanding, but I wasn't treated like it was. I was basically accused of swindling the restaurant out of a $4 side item because I believe they forgot an item on my order. They did try to get me that missing item but the kitchen must have been upset about having to make the item because they didn't cook it. read more
