I don't know why other yelpers write about this location like it's in the middle of some ramshackle…read moreghetto, cuz it's not. It's on a major road but there's a cute little neighborhood right across the street. This is not a dangerous spot. This store is like many other stores in middle class neighborhoods that are slowly declining into a lower income bracket, but that's nothing to be afraid of. That doesn't mean the people in this area mean you harm, or are doing anything other than going about their boring lives. The store is fine. Average store. I went in to use the bathroom because, yet again, I was on a Garrison Brothers job where I couldn't access a bathroom. We do a lot of jobs at people's homes, so it's not like I expect to be let inside, or for their house to be accessible. My own family wouldn't make their homes accessible to me, so I have very low expectations when it comes to accessibility that isnt mandated by law. You need to be let into the bathroom. There's a keypad lock. I started doing the peepee dance while I waited for someone to open the door. I cannot stand having my body functions controlled by strangers who could not give less of a fuck about someone else's pain. Locking bathroom doors is a ridiculous practice. Customers only is a ridiculous practice. People have to use the bathroom. It's a body function. If we fail to let people take care of their business with some dignity then we cannot be surprised when people pee in alleyways, drop a squat in public. They're left with little choice. We force people to act like animals and then hold it against them. That's appalling. The bathroom was clean and roomy, but I won't go back there, if I'm ever on a job in that neighborhood again, simply because I was forced to endure pain in order to fit into someone else's schedule. I won't do that to myself.

First, it's important to know that to access the salon. you have to climb two flights of stairs…read more Second, if you go on a Sunday be prepared to hear the music and singing from the church next-door. The salon is always very, very clean. I always wear my hair and flat twists. I've tried multiple stylists at the salon, but I highly, highly, highly recommend Breanna, she is very skilled. I've booked my last two appointments with her and I don't think I will go to anyone else. Please note that they are cashless and they make you pay the associated 3% credit card fee.

I follow a salon down south called Electric Soul Hair Salon. The owner always explains why she…read morechooses certain products or techniques, and her motto is: "Not all hair can use the same products. It's the product and the technique." She can really work some hair! So I started looking for that same passion here in Maryland. I came across Asili Hair Care Center in Linthicum, MD, which specializes in natural hair. I called and made an appointment for November 1--10 AM for a two-strand twist with Breasia and 11 AM for a trim with Lashinae. I was told only managers do trims. The young man who washed my hair, along with Breasia and Lashinae, were all very pleasant. The conversation and atmosphere were great, and I tipped each of them $10 (not to make it about me, but to highlight how great they were). The wash was excellent, even though they forgot the free steam treatment--but that was fine because Lashinae said I could get it on my next visit. My two-strand twist came out very nice. Lashinae even used the white coat demonstration, just like the stylist I follow online, to show me why I needed a trim--which I already knew. So naturally, I assumed she was giving me a trim. When I went to pay, the total was higher than expected, but that was fine because she explained that for first-time clients, it's considered a haircut, not a trim. Fast forward to November 15--two weeks later--I took my twists down. Everything was fine, the twist-out was beautiful, and I received a lot of compliments. On November 19, I washed my hair and noticed it was uneven--longer on one side and very long at the top. I called the salon to speak with Lashinae about correcting the $64 issue. The person who answered said she wasn't in. When she asked if she could help, I said I would rather talk directly to the person who cut my hair. That's when she told me she was the owner. I explained the situation and that I didn't notice the uneven cut until I washed my hair. The owner responded, "Well, it's been almost a month, so you'd have to pay full price for another haircut." I didn't raise my voice or get negative--at 65, those days are over. I simply told her it hadn't even been three weeks, and I wouldn't have known until I took the twists down. She repeated that she couldn't see my hair and that they don't refund. I didn't argue. I just said, "Okay, thank you." What I don't understand is how some people open a business because of their talent, but don't get the training in business management needed to keep first-time clients coming back. She didn't just lose me--she cost her employees a returning client and future income. I run a business myself. I can count on one hand the few times a customer wasn't satisfied, and I corrected the issue immediately. Those clients are still with me, still referring others. Young business owners, please do better. We want to support you, but a few make it hard. So now I'm back out here trying to find another natural stylist. GEESH!

I was supposed to see the dentist this morning. Mistake #1 I trust directions to Siri. # 2 I trusted Siri and didn't check. Siri took me to a dentist office that had the same name as the one I used in Norfolk. SMILE CENTER. I got there and the NIGHTMARE BEGAN!! I went inside to check in BUT !! It was not the dentist office where I had the appointment!! By now I was pretty upset. I was going to be late for my real appointment AND I had no idea where I was. Mistake # 3 I was upset and not feeling well so I asked to use the restroom. I was told "WE DON'T HAVE ONE" not for you just for OUR PATIENTS!! I'm sure these 2 women are nothing more than $9 an hour workers, just there to answer the phone and take your money, so they have no medical knowledge, but apparently they have no human decency either!! Maybe they thought they would have to clean up after me or maybe they thought I was going to die and they would rather I did it out of sight in the parking lot and not in the office where they might have to get up and help but for whatever reason their reaction was to tell me " GET OUT NOW OR IM CALLING THE POLICE ". I left went across the street to the Walgreens where I used the restroom got a drink of water and left. NOTHING TO CLEAN UP!! I'm relaying this to warn people who might be thinking of using this dentist office. This is the kind of people you will be dealing with. If you're OK with that great if not look somewhere else. It doesn't matter how good the dentist is because he doesn't meet you at the door, they do.

Great service! Quick appointment and very efficient. I was so pleased with level of care.read more
