I was told by Uttermost that I would have to buy a new mirror! I thought I was going to have to "junk" the expensive mirror that I'd really gotten attached to at the end of our dining room. I had a damaged part that was extremely difficult to find a replacement. I searched online for…read moreseveral weeks, even reaching out to the original manufacturer, with no luck. My best option was to try and have it repaired, but even that was tricky. The part was cast iron and a little thin. I asked if they could weld it up and then machine it to tolerance. As we were concerned, the part didn't survive the repair. But that didn't stop Gilbert's! They ended up sourcing a replacement elsewhere and brought it in to me at no additional cost. I offered to pay whatever the difference was but they insisted that the bill was already settled. They wouldn't take anything more than their original quote.
