Rudolf was excellent. I had an emergency issue with my gate being completely seized shut and my maintenance people could not service my house. He was able to come the next day after I contacted him and fixed the gate right up. His pricing was excellent and communication was quick. Highly recommend his services and will work with him again if I need anything. read more

After asking several handymen and professional hardware specialists, I decided to try one more time to find someone who could attach a "hanger" to a decorative mirror after the original (from Uttermost brand) broke off for no apparent reason.None of the other handymen could come up with a solution to rehang it. I was told by Uttermost that I would have to buy a new mirror! I thought I was going to have to "junk" the expensive mirror that I'd really gotten attached to at the end of our dining room. Rudolf and Bruno took about five minutes looking at the mirror, its backing and frame. I could see the wheels turning in their heads to find a solution, and find a solution they did! Hallelujah! I thought it would require welding but they came up with another creative and super sturdy option. I was very happy with their professionalism, friendliness, efficiency and pricing and would not hesitate to call on them again for almost any other house project. read more

I needed the latch on my backyard gate to be fixed because it was not closing correctly. Rudolph came the following day on time and fixed it. His price was very reasonable. From now on I will always use him for my handyman needs. read more

Rudolf and his team did an amazing job magically transforming our non-functional metal and wooden gates into working like new gates. It took about 6 hours for the two gates. They took the time to meticulously remove all rust, sand and prime/paint the metal gate and realign it so it opens and closes again. Rudolf was the only one out of all the quotes I requested to notice that the wooden gate really needed new slats. The other contractors just quickly shot back quotes without really looking at what was needed. He replaced them with Western Cedar type wood. Not a speck of dust was left when the work was done - how often does that happen? Great care was taken to put down tarps to protect the outside area and clean up when finished. We really appreciate the hard work that went into the job. They took all the time needed to ensure the job was done correctly and we would not hesitate to call Rudolph again with any future projects. See photos of before (rusty) metal gate and after. This contractor is dependable - they showed up exactly on time. Rates were reasonable and the attention placed in completing this job is very much appreciated - it's great being able to open and close our gates again and they don't look run down anymore. Rudolf was able to schedule our job quickly within a couple of days and communication through Yelp was fine. So if you are putting off some projects - don't wait anymore! read more

This guy is a gouger. Needed a quote for a 20" piece of baseboard replaced - no painting required. Just find the matching baseboard, cut it to size, adhere it and I will do the painting. This guy's quote came in over 3x higher than 4 other quotes (and counting) and when I shared that information with him he then made a snide comment about "my budget". This isn't about a budget. It's about fair pricing. read more

Fair pricing, honest communication and great quality of work. I would recommend them to anyone needing a skilled handyman!

No-call, no-show. This guy has very good reviews, unfortunately I'll never know what that experience is like. He did not show up for an appointment to give a quote, and never called to explain, cancel, or apologize. read more

Great service from Rudolf and team. Had a backyard gate that needed wall mounting repair. Sent him photos of what was needed and received a super fast response to inquiry, quoting, and then scheduling and repair. Not only resolved the failed mounting but was also able to fix the the locking mechanism which was offset due to the high winds and gate bowing. Highly recommended and will definitely use Rudolf for any future repairs and service when needed. read more

We had another handyman from Angie's List unexpectedly cancel, and when we told Rudolf the situation he immediately came over and did the job. Lo and behold, I look up his business and he's supposed to be closed today. My wife and I are so incredibly grateful that he came and took care of the work for us. Specifically, we needed to have curtain and television mounts disassembled and reinstalled. I also wanted to point out that he and his worker were both highly competent and precise, and that even though we ended up spending $170 more than the other handyman quoted us, it was definitely worth it. read more

I contacted Silver Desert Handyman on Wednesday May 22 because one of the decorative shutters of the window on the second floor had fallen down. Rudolph was awesome. He showed up the next day at 9:30 sharp, like he said he would. He got the job done. He is friendly and easy going. Most important he answered the phone when I called. Sent me a quote shortly after to which I agreed, showed up on time as he promised the next day and got the job done! Mission accomplished! That alone is a definite plus! I will certainly contact Silver Desert Handyman for my next projects. Based on this experience I recommend Rudolph and Silver Desert Handyman. Thank you read more

We were very impressed with Rudolf's work. Rudolf is a person of integrity and skilled in a wide range of areas. I particularly appreciated the upfront estimate that he provided us prior to us becoming clients Rudolf was very responsive to our home repair requests; tile work, exterior painting, repair of weatherstripping on garage door, and repairing a sticking iron gate. Rudolf arrived as promised, even letting us know exactly what time he would arrive. Rudolf and his assistant were both professional and completed all repairs in a timely manner. Rudolf took care to make sure to clean up our property after each task was completed. He took his work seriously and did a bang up job. We will definitely look to Rudolf for any future home repairs that we may need. Respectfully, FTH read more

Rudolf was professional. I was happy with his work and his price was reasonable. I will use him again. He repaired and painted a couple of walls, repaired and painted 5 columns in my patio, repaired my door frame, repaired my iron gate- does not close properly, wrought iron front door- had a hole on the bottom and he filled that in. He replaced all the weatherstripping on all our doors and replaced the thresholds. read more

I expect I'm not the only one who has a difficult time getting anyone to respond let alone do good quality work! The Silver Desert's owner Rudolph is more professional and communicative than anybody in the valley, by far!!! He did a very difficult, labor intensive project for me, refurbishing a 9x40 deteriorating balcony floor, he and his team did excellent work for a fair price, which is a rare thing these days! He also refurbished a deteriorating metal gate. I have a construction background and very much appreciate his quality work, I HIGHLY recommend! Thanks again Rudolph! read more

We have used Rudolf now for MANY home improvement projects now. Some small and simple, some more complex. What I can say is he goes ABOVE any beyond in making sure the job is excellent and we are happy with the end results. Rudolf doesn't rush to finish and his work (and Anton's) work is perfect. His pricing is more than fair and before we found him, we had a very bad experience with another handyman . Not sure what some are complaining about here but honestly look NO further if you want someone who is honest, trustworthy and will provide excellent and professional service . I recommend Rudolf Update Lighting fixtures replaced and re-installed, ceiling fans installed , wallpaper (walls smoothed and wallpaper installed ), dimmers installed and customs railings are coming ! read more

Rudolf is a knowledgeable and thorough handyman. He is very pleasant and always on time.

Very Disappointing. I spoke to this man picturedon the phone and he texted me back a estimated price to fix a gate. His estimate was reasonable so I asked him to do the work. He then showed up and brought a crew with him, and then he gave me another price which was $200 more than the last. Then he wanted a deposit because he had to get the materials, which was fine, whatever. Then he didn't even do the work. He pawned it off to a guy that was never there at the initial meeting which is fine. But, if he saw his work, I'd hope he'd never hire him again. Never never! If you say it twice you add expletive words! That's funny to me. True customer service... I'd hope you would have said. I'm sorry to hear that, I try to help all of my customers. But instead you're telling me I was never your customer?!? Wow! You should never be in customer service! Here's your proof! You sure did cash my deposit check. read more

Rudolf did an amazing job! We bought a new house and wanted to put up a small strip of fencing for a dog run on the side of the house. We spent a bit of time going back and forth about my wants and needs for a fence/gate and he made some suggestions for the sturdiest fence. We agreed on a price and a date. He asked me a pay a materials deposit, which I happily did - he does have to purchase a custom piece. I was very impressed that he drove over to my house on a Sunday evening to pick up the check as his credit card processing wasn't working correctly. On the agreed-upon day, he showed up on time. He actually made it to the house before I did! He got right to work and installed the fence and gate. It looks AMAZING! I could not be happier. Even though they had some unexpected hiccups with the in-ground sprinklers, they stayed within the proposed budget. We happily paid what we were quoted. Somehow when we wrote out the check, we wrote it for too much - something we never would have noticed. Rudolf came back and had us re-write the check for the correct (lesser) amount. I was very impressed by both the fence and the honesty. I will surely use him again if I need handyman services. read more
