I reached out to Olson Iron because of their reviews. I made an appt. with David. He was very informative. I ordered the scroll privacy gate with a code lock. Tristan and Gabriel came out exactly 4 weeks from ordering the gate. They were very polite and did a great job installing my new beautiful gate. The only reason for four stars is, I was on my way out the door when the guys arrived to install, at no fault of their own, but I was never notified that they would be coming that particular day and time, when I called David to let him know, he did not seem to really care that I was not notified. His only response to me was "you were on my schedule". I would just recommend that you do make sure your customers are notified so that they're home and ready. Decided to go with Olson Iron for our Security Door after being told by various big box home improvement stores and their third company party installers that it cannot be done due to our custom door. Spoke with David over the phone to get a quote and set up an appointment to check out my specific situation. He came out on time, professional and gave me various options and routes I could take. He was very easy to talk to and explained how and what would be done. He even recommended different styles that were less expensive but of high quality that he thought would contrast well with my custom door, so not to hide the beauty of my current door, but accentuate and compliment it more. Upon agreeing to work with them, David did the measurements, gave me a quote and dropped a deposit. Gave me a receipt with a hand drawn gate that I chose and for freehand was quite impressive on the match. Told me it would take about 4-6 weeks. I was kinda bummed it would take that long, but understood it was being custom built to specifications and mind you this was during the Christmas and new year holiday too. Taking that into consideration, as time came closer, I did receive a text/call that my gate was ready and made that appointment for install. The installers came 15 minutes earlier than my scheduled time, which was much appreciated. I though perfect...gives them more time for what I thought was going to be a tedious long install. The guys told me it would take less than an hour and they weren't kidding. Took about 30 minutes...that was taking their time. I inspected and the job was awesome. The install was flush with perfect fitment down to the measurements of David. The one piece frame was heavy duty of high quality and very pleased at the price I paid compared to other companies charging thousands more. The installers gave me a run down of the build and quality again and showed me how to customize my door locks. With a lifetime warranty on the build and craftsmanship I felt at ease. This isn't your $100-$300 cookie cutter Security door from a home improvement store, but at a reasonable price for a custom, I can tell you the beauty and more so the extra security and peace of mind is invaluable and already worth the price over and over again. A couple years ago I was looking to add a security gate to our courtyard. I didn't really feel good about the quotes I had so I just dropped it for a while. To Bo. David never apologized. As a matter of fact, he texted me multiple times trying to get me to change my review. He called me and said many things, but none was an apology for walking off when he was told I wasn't deciding that day. High pressure sales at its best. I was in the construction business for 30 years 12 of it in management. NEVER did I treat customers as he did. Look at my Yelp reviews. I don't take my reviews lightly, and I think this was the worst review I've given. In fact, my review verbiage itself wasn't terrible, it's the two stars that show. It is apparent to me that your company is trying harder to get me to change how many stars I gave you instead of working on appearance to customers. I stand by it and will not change it. Part #2: You want to air this out here, fine. Most companies would take a poor review as a learning moment as nobody has 100% satisfaction and everyone has a bad day. David is being less than honest, and he didn't come here twice as I would NOT ask, nor do I want him back on my property. You may receive five stars though that means some don't want to ruffle feathers and don't say what needs to be said. If I get bad business, I give a bad review, period. Maybe David should have an HR class to learn what appropriate behavior is on a perspective customers property. read more

We purchased a door for our pool entrance to pass the inspection needed here in Las Vegas. I saw all these fantastic reviews, and this company won me over through their great work. Not only is the door beautiful, their employees work hard to make things right. After a misunderstanding, we were able to fix the problem, which was a spring that kept coming out. This company is bustling, and of course, they should be with the work that they do. They were able to figure out a time that worked for both of us, even though there were changes that I needed to make. I would say that their scheduling appointments could have gone smoother, but they still accommodated the several changes I needed to make. A quick update: We have been very happy with both the gate and the non-electronic keypad lock that Olson Iron Gates created and installed for us in December 2022. A year and a half later now, in July 2024, we noticed that the gate would not completely latch and remain closed unless we closed it with extra force, almost slamming it. I called Olson Iron Gates and explained what was happening, and they quickly connected me with David Olson, who was out and about. David told me that the latch mechanism and the latch cavity (hole) in the gate frame had probably shifted slightly out of alignment due to either our cinderblock wall settling a bit or possibly the recent very hot temperatures in Henderson and Las Vegas. He told me that I could easily adjust that alignment by using a wrench to tighten two of the nuts securing the gate in place. We switched to a FaceTime video chat and he walked me through the process of making the adjustment, which was indeed very simple. Within less than a minute, I had tightened the two nuts in question and the gate was once again latching securely without our needing to schedule a visit and without any charge. I thanked David for his help, and he pointed out that by his walking me through the adjustment, we had ensured that I would now know how to make the same adjustments if the same problem reoccurs in the future. This gives me the opportunity to once again give David and Olson Iron Gates a much-deserved 5-star review. We continue to recommend them highly to anyone in need of good-looking and well-designed gates. read more
