I had a tragic accident between my 2 fur babies (Dogs) And in a panic I did not have a vet here as our vet is in Palm Springs too far to go in an emergency and no longer convienient as we are staying in El Centro for work , The ONLY place open at the time of incident luckily for us they were open til 6 and took us pretty close to the closing time we just made it I don't know what I would have done if there are no emergency clinics open past 8 to 5 hrs for my dog perhaps she could've died I feel this doctor save my beloved puppies life I am so grateful to him DR Satow THANK YOU SINCERELY !!! The staff were also professional and helpful they kept my baby overnight successfully treated her I can't thank you all enough I recommend this doctor he seems to have a heart for animals and great knowledge and helped us my experience there I will now take my dogs there for their vet care while staying in El Centro! read more

My family lost one of our beloved rottweilers a few weeks ago and Dr. Satow and the entire staff were awesome. Everyone is not only professional but treat you as family. Excellent & fast service in an emergency! Our large dog Amber cut her front leg open "a big deep cut" she needed surgery ASAP. Thank you very much Dr. Satow for the quick service! I've been coming to Desert Veterinary Group for 12 years with all my animals. Everyone on staff in this office have always been great with me & my animals. Dr. Satow even called us on Sunday to ask about a sick bird once & he also sent my friend a sympathy card when he had to put his dog to sleep. read more

For my small dog, cat, and birds, I find myself back at this office. The staff has been helpful, I've never waited unreasonably long, and I have grown to trust this vet for the management of my terminally ill cat's comfort. I also spend less money overall here, and the feel like the vet does what he can to stay away from unnecessary costly procedures that would not benefit the pet. I will continue to return to this office. I still recommend choosing another alternative for large possibly aggressive or fearful dogs if you don't know what to expect of your dog's behavior in a veterinary setting. My dog is not an easy patient, but it's important for me to have a vet that understands that and still tries to help him feel at ease and not get frustrated with him. read more

I've only been here once and it was after hours (what I considered an emergency, but it was not life or death kind of thing). The doctor took an emergency visit at 10 pm and was very nice about it. He was very knowledgeable and calm demeanor. I will be coming here again if I need to. read more

I have been going to this vet office for several years and have never had such a bad experience. The vet examined our dog and decided she needed a full blood panel. He said it so passively that I didn't think much of it...Turns out it was 118.00 for the panel that was ran for 15 minutes in the back office. While waiting for said blood panel to process we find a large grey tick crawling in the room. I had to ask 2 times for someone to get it out and when an employee finally came to get it she looked so bothered that I asked her to do it. Ticks are gross! I take great care to prevent my dog from being exposed to them and she gets paid to do that stuff not me! I will be looking for another veterinarian asap. read more

This is the best vet office I have ever been to. The staff is awesome and they will remember you and they treat you like a friend. My dog passed away a couple of weeks ago and one of the techs went out of their way to make me a paw print. Not something they usually do. I asked if the company that cremates them does it and they weren't sure but when we went to pick up his ashes, there was his paw print. They did it for us. That is way above and beyond anything I would ever expect. Amazing staff. I can't say enough about how amazing this office is. The prices are very fair. I've been to a few vets in the valley. This is #1 vet office in the valley. read more

Dr. Satow did help my Elderly Cat with his thyroid problems after he continued being dehydrated and continuously losing weight even after drinking water and eating. He found out the problem after keeping him overnight. The only issue I think most people might notice is his direct attitude. If something is wrong with the pet that might possibly be something you caused he wont be afraid to tell you. This can be good for your pet but bad for your esteem. Not all of us take our pets in for bi-yearly check ups so if you're like me, you probably take your pet in dire situations. So going in there and being told "You shouldn't have done that and you should have come in sooner" kind of hits where it hurts most. I understand this might be my fault, but please try and be a bit more soft with the blows if you can. The staff was professional. There was a bit of a stern attitude that felt more of a "Here's the paperwork. Please wait for the Doctor" Not bad at all, but nothing exciting. Otherwise, my pet Hershey was taken care of and did much better after he was discharged. No extra charges. No hiked up charges. It all seemed fair, especially for an overnight visit. read more

We have been going here with our dogs for the last 3 years or so. The staff and the doctor are very friendly. I have 2 rottweilers which might be intimidating to some, but they really like the doctor. Maybe it's because he always gives them a treat when he's done! Also, there have been a few times that I wasn't sure if the situation was one where I needed to bring them in or if it could be treated at home, so I called and they answered my questions and were very helpful! read more

After a terrible experience with Dr. Thompson in El Centro (don't ever take your pets there!), I visited Dr. Satow. The front desk staff is great - very helpful and Dr. Satow is friendly, attentive, and caring. His clinic is the only place I will take my cats. He is not overpriced like Thompson and is so much more caring about the animals that come to see him. It's obvious that he's not in it for the money like Thompson is. Being from San Diego, the customer service and care I receive here is what I would expect to and would indeed receive at a San Diego vet clinic. Thank you Dr. Satow! read more

We have been coming to Desert Veterinary/Dr. Satow for over 10 years now after the previous vet's office we went to started to go downhill in their service. Dr. Satow is friendly and knowledgeable, and seems like he genuinely cares about your pet's well-being. We use his vaccination clinics that he does at the end of each month to get our dogs their annual shots, which is super convenient that he and his staff come to Brawley and all we have to do is drive down the block to see him. Everything he does is reasonably priced. We recently lost our dog Luke, and a month before he passed we brought him in on an emergency visit, Dr. Satow jumped right into inspecting him to try and diagnose the issue. A month later Luke seemed to not be feeling well again and Dr. Satow asked to keep him overnight to run tests and rehydrate him. When Luke passed during the night he called personally to tell us and offer condolences. You don't know how much that kindness was appreciated at that moment. His staff called the next day and arranged for Luke to be cremated, and Russel was kind and sympathizing, he even told me a story of how hard it was when his own pet had passed. When we got Luke's remains back we were given them in a very nice urn that allowed for a photograph of him. I would highly recommend this vet's office, because Dr. Satow and his staff care about the animals in their care and you can rest easy knowing your pet is in good hands. read more

I called at 7 at night and a real person answered the phone! I was able to talk directly to the vet about my injured parakeet. He gave me practical advice to take care of my bird overnight and come in tomorrow for $25 instead of the overnight cost of $125-ish. There is not much the vets would be able to do overnight anyway so however it turns out I would still recommend this vet group. read more

I have been to Dr Satow several times and each time he was kind a courteous. I had to take my boxer mix in as she was run over by a golf cart. I was afraid she had internal injuries. However when we got to the vet she was acting like normal. Dr Satow looked her over and moved her legs and felt her bones and check her eyes and breathing and it was all normal. My dog is fine and I am thankful that he was very honest with me. He could have taken me for several hundred dollars by taking xrays and blood sample, like some of the other vets that i have seen do. I am pleased with the service i have received. The prices are great and he must love animals and no in this for the money. read more
