Today my girlfriend, sister in law, and I went to Salcidos Pet Grooming in El Centro, Ca. We weren't expecting to have any problems as we have taken our dogs to them plenty of times without any issues, but today was very different and I am disgusted by these people.
We took our two dogs to get their nails cut. Our first chihuahua is a very light color, came out with her nails really short with blood on them, and in the back we could hear her crying. We didn't notice this until our second dog had came out. By that time, my sister in law wanted to get a refund because it was clear that this man (Erick Campos/Erick FIelds), whom works at Salcidos did NOT know what he was doing. This has never happened before until today. The excuse of the POS that cut her nails was because "she had an ingrown & they were too long", which we've brought her in before (when a female named Alex would cut them but wasn't in today), and this had never happened.
Further on, when our second pet went in, we heard the her screech in the back literally 30 seconds in. By then the man had walked out to a different room and he looked at us outside the front window as he passed. Then he went back into the room because he put a muzzle on her so she wouldn't cry anymore. I figured the first cry was cause he had cut way past her nail and then we didn't hear anything of her anymore because he muzzled her.
When we got her back (after we said we wanted a refund) he started shaking and saying that our second dog got aggressive and that's why he put it on her and then that she was supposedly trying to pull it off with her paws (which we know wasn't the case because we heard her screech before he went to put it on her). OUR DOG CAME OUT TO US WITH MISSING BOTH DEWCLAWS AND SHE WAS BLEEDING HEAVILY. He kept saying the same thing over and over and when we asked him for the managers number, he handed us a business card and said we could call tomorrow when she's in.
We then walked out and I went back in minutes later before leaving and I asked another person there for the managers (Aida Salcido) cell phone number. I called her and she showed up within the next 15 mins. On the phone she said that the man had already told her what had happened.
Be aware that we've been going here for quite a while and this had never happened until today when the only male who works there cut our dogs nails way too short and cut their dewclaws leaving exposed bone.
The manager said we could go to the vet and to tell them that she sent us, but we still had to pay. That is disrespectful because she said basically that she couldn't call and tell them anything because it was OUR problem.
We went to the vet and paid the fees and pain medication because the vet said our dog was in pain and they had cut off her dewclaws (thumbs).
I advise anyone who goes here to not go here anymore and tag all your local pet owners of what a horrible place and what horrible people these are. read more
