After years of patronizing Glen Ivy, we recently found ourselves looking for a new spa sanctuary…read moredue to their declining standards. Sunstone Spa at Agua Caliente turned out to be the perfect discovery for our 12th-anniversary weekend in Palm Springs. I chose to book over the phone rather than online to get a better feel for the facility. The representative was incredibly kind and informative, and I received email confirmations almost immediately. Upon arrival, check-in was seamless, and we were quickly guided in for our services. The staff took the time to give us a full tour and answer all our questions; their attentiveness and constant check-ins throughout the day made it easy to relax fully. While smaller than some other luxury spas, the facility feels pristine, modern, and perfectly maintained. The treatments themselves were world-class! 60-Minute Aloe Lavender Body Wrap: Highly recommend! Beyond leaving my skin ultra-soft and glowing, the included head and foot massage was the perfect finishing touch. 60-Minute Arnica Massage: A truly premium experience and honestly one of the best massages I've had in years. A new benchmark for therapeutic bodywork! Afterward, I enjoyed the steam room, dry sauna, and the salt room. The Salt Room proved to be incredibly therapeutic; despite some minor coughing during the 10-minute session, it entirely cleared my respiratory tract of seasonal allergy symptoms by the following morning. Dry Palm Springs Heat + Salt Room = Relief! Because it wasn't overcrowded, the entire experience felt exclusive and deeply relaxing. The entire day felt like a private, luxurious retreat. We already can't wait to come back!

Incredibly disappointing. My friend and I typically go to the Sec He Spa in Palm Springs, which is…read morea completely wonderful experience every time. They were fully booked for the day that we wanted to come, and suggested that we try their "sister spa" at Agua Caliente: Sunstone. It was a completely different experience in every way, and I don't know how anyone who has experienced Sec He would be happy with Sunstone, especially when they are about the same price for treatments. Here were the differences: When we arrived and were brought into the spa area by an attendent, she was unsmiling, not welcoming and did the very basics. The spa is about 1/4 the size of Sec He, with none of the beauty in the detail and design-very bland and unattractive...similar to a doctor's office-especially the tiny room where you wait for treatments. It has very few options for anything...tiny sauna, tiny steam room and the salt chamber was literally a plastic box that holds a single person at a time. My friend commented that it looked like the penalty box at a hockey game. At Sec He, by comparison, their salt room is a beautiful ROOM where multiple people can take the salt in a large space. When we wanted to actually use the salt penalty box, we had to hunt down an attendent both times to add the salt to the machine and that took time and was aggravating trying to find them as there seemed to be only two attendents working. We decided to experience the grounding room: nice zero gravity chairs with headphones and a choice of listening experiences. Great....except that the grounding room is a pass through to the other areas of the spa and the entire time you are in there people are walking through, talking, laughing, including the attendents and treatment staff who would come in looking for people waiting for treatments...(why not the waiting room??). The doors on each end of the grounding room have LOUD door handles so every single time someone came through you had two sets of jangly door handles announcing their entry and exit. Such a terrible design, and the staff do nothing to try and keep the area quiet and zen as it should be. By about 11:30, we had pretty much exhausted all the spa had to offer so went out to the pool to order lunch. We had been told that we could order "room service" from there, but there were no waiters and we finally had to go hunt someone down to find one. We were presented with the regular room service menu for the hotel next door, (no "spa food" or refreshing drinks, juices, etc that you typically expect at a spa) waited again for a waiter to take our order, and about 45 minutes later, our order came out in plastic to go containers in a plastic bag. Hardly a spa experience. The food was just meh. We both had massages scheduled in the afternoon and both of them were just OK. The massage rooms are nice, with great massage beds with lots of features, but I asked for the deep tissue massage and it was not....very inconsistent and very light touch, and my friend got the massage that is supposed to combine multiple different styles and she also felt that is was just OK. In a world with many, many bigger problems than a bad spa day, you may wonder why I would take the time to complain about that. But the reality is, between my friend and myself, we spent over $600 at Sunstone for what was a very subpar experience. We never felt "attended to" or welcomed by the staff, the spa itself leaves much to be desired, the locker room is tiny and makes it difficult for people to change and manage their items in there, but there is only one private dressing room. There were so many disappointments with this experience and we both work hard for our money. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great experience to go to Sec He in Palm Springs-especially since they have the private mineral baths as part of your experience. It boggles my mind that the same tribe would call these "sister spas" when they are NOTHING alike in quality, options, services, size, decor and experience. Save your money. You probably work hard for it too.

Saw this on Groupon and gave it a try, I get massages often all over the US travelling for work…read more This was a standard massage I did an hour with hot stones - Worth it! Simple set up but relaxing environment non the less. I came in sore and left almost stumbling I was so relaxed! I would recommend this place and it's in a strip mall to get some errands done as well. Whoever left the one star saying they got "karate chopped" this is a standard practice for blood flow, calm down Karen. Yes there was a language barrier, but nothing we couldn't overcome as I had a sizable burn on my forearm and the masseuse was very accommodating and caring to that region. 5 stars through and through!

I've been to this place several times, I've had good experiences until yesterday, also it's bummy…read moreeverytime I find a good Masseuse there and I come back for them "they no longer work there" I wonder why that is. So, I got sent home from work early and I've been in need of a massage so I decided to head over to zen spa, I understand it was getting close to their closing time but the woman masseuse was extremely rude from the start, she was so rough on me that I had the urge to get up and leave the first few minutes but I was a bit embarrassed on how to approach that. She wasn't using oil the first five minutes and was being so rough on me that I felt my skin burning from the friction, also she didn't have her nails cut so she kept scratching me. I asked if she was going to use oil so she did use oil on me afterwards but it was excessive, I'm an esthetician so I know the massage movements and rhythm and she didn't know what she was doing at all. The whole hour I only felt effleurage and tapotement when finishing, also she kept getting too close to my intimate parts and it did make me a bit nervous. I found it a bit gross to get too close to my rectum and afterwards do facial massage, I was very anxious the whole session and couldn't enjoy the massage due to this unprofessional behavior, it felt like she didn't want to service me or was upset to have gotten a service the last hour of closing which I can understand but also being in the service industry I wouldn't ever make anyone feel like an inconvenience and revenge it through the service for coming in towards the end of the shift, at the end of the day you are getting paid for the service and gratitudes so I don't understand where this attitude came from, I didn't want to write a review but I woke up so sore and my back is hurting more than before so I ended up paying for a service that rather than make me feel better has left me worst. I'm very disappointed

I've been coming to Reflexology, managed by Grace, since I moved to the Valley in 2017, and it's just consistently been my go-to. Coco, Amy, Cindy, Lee, and Eric are all really good. They've helped a lot with the body misalignment and tightness I get from sitting at a computer all day and from workouts. Lately I've been dealing with neck pain, shoulder stiffness, and even some arm discomfort, and they know exactly where to work--it actually makes a noticeable difference. I always leave feeling a lot better than when I came in. I usually go once or twice a month and have brought a few friends here too--they all liked it. I also like that you can ask for the pressure you want, whether you want something lighter or really deep depending on what you need that day. I usually do the 90-minute session, and it really helps reset everything. Their treatment is pretty thorough. They use acupressure and work on your head, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands, then spend time on your feet, and finish with your back and legs. It's not rushed, and it feels like they cover everything. I also always end up sleeping really well after. They have different options too, including a combination treatment and a more focused therapeutic massage for back issues like sciatica or arthritis. I usually go with the therapeutic one--it helps a lot with my neck and shoulder tension and just overall resets my body. Pricing is actually pretty reasonable for what you get, especially compared to other places around here. If you go, just mention you saw the offer on their website. The place is clean, and the staff are always nice and professional. They truly provide a good therapeutic massage, and you can actually hear how much relief people feel by the end of their session. If you're looking for somewhere reliable to work out tension and stress, this is a solid spot.

We were greeted by Esmerelda and Justin. My boyfriend wanted a deep tissue massage and I opted for a more soothing Swedish massage. The massage started off with Lavender essential oils to breathe in, in order to calm and relax us while they both started. The incredible massage finished with the use of peppermint essential oil on our scalp that was amazing. We both ended up falling asleep during our service because we were so relaxed. Ive had plenty of massages in my life and this was by far one of the best I've ever had. We have another trip we will be booking soon and we will DEFINITELY add a massage with Justin and Esmerelda to our itinerary. Highly recommend. 5 stars!!
