DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. I have lower back problems and have used massage therapy since the 1980s…read more The massage I got today at Yiyi's is the worse ever. I told Lizette my problem areas and she began terrorizing me, I kept telling her what she was doing was way to hard, I kept jumping and complaining and she kept saying I had to take the "therapy" she was giving. After about five minutes I stated getting up and told her I was leaving. When she saw I was serious she said she would give me a different type of relaxing massage. It was the same movements she had tried before but somewhat tolerable. She was done in about 30 minutes and then covered me and told me to relax.

I first met him at Stretch Zone as a therapist, and he knows how to help restore mobility and improve flexibility through targeted stretches. ‍ I then saw him at EPCC massage school where he was furthering his education. The area is…read moredifficult to get in and out of right now because of all the construction on Airway, but the visit itself was worth the trouble. The spa stays open late, which I really appreciated, and the prices are very good for the quality. My therapist was nice and followed my instructions exactly. He focused on the specific pain points in my legs after a busy weekend of events, and I did feel real relief afterward. I always try to be honest, so I do want to mention one thing. They advertised specials online and over the phone, and I was told I might receive some extras like hot stones or hot towels. I did not receive any of those, so the service ended up being a regular massage with no added features. I think the therapist may be new and just wasn't aware of the specials. Overall, the massage itself was good, the staff was polite, and the spa is clean and professional. I would return for the focused work on pain areas, but I hope the communication about specials becomes more consistent.

Honestly, the next day I feel a bit sore, like I had an intense workout the day prior. The day after that though, I feel amazing. I carry a lot of stress in my shoulders and upper back. The 1st time I went, they kept asking if I was okay but I think I had such severe knots that it felt like I was tensing. It was once described to me as my muscles felt like it was "cracking" from the massage. I work a lot with very long hours. If I start to feel like my back is hurting too much, I make an appointment and I am good for a while. I would like to try and go regularly so I don't even get to the point of being in extreme pain. I'm flexible with whomever does my massage but if it's an issue for you, make sure to confirm first. My only con with this place is that sometimes the person doing my massage does not speak English very well, but as long as I let them know as soon as I arrive, someone will translate my message for me. Also, the price cannot be beat.
