Our experience at Desert Perinatal Associates was truly wonderful from start to finish. The ultrasound nurse was incredibly gentle, patient, and informative. She had such a warm and positive attitude, which made the entire appointment feel calm and reassuring. She took her time explaining everything and made us feel completely comfortable. Dr. Khine was absolutely amazing. She explained everything clearly, answered all of our questions, and reassured us every step of the way that everything looked great. Her bedside manner is compassionate, professional, and thorough -- exactly what you hope for during pregnancy appointments. Ruth was also fantastic and provided detailed information regarding genetic testing, making sure we understood all of our options without feeling overwhelmed. Came here for high risk care while prego with my first. I'm now prego with my second and I will not be coming back here. Office is very slow and inefficient. They're also not helpful at all (ie. Insurance, appts etc)... the staff (doctors, nurses and techs) are very impersonal and have sterile and cold bedside manners. To top it all off, every appt I had (10+) had at least a 1 hr wait (despite an appointment). Beware that They prebill every service before processing it with insurance which meant a large out of pocket expense before reconciling with insurance. read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. When I first called to make an appointment, the receptionist Trish, answered the phone quite rudely. When I expressed my concern to be seen only for an anatomy scan, she asked who referred me, as I wouldn't be able to make an appointment without a referral. I told her and she replied, "I'm sorry, but your referral has expired." I didn't know that was possible. I let her know I received a text message from their office a week before letting me know I could book an appointment, so I told her that and she had a very unpleasant attitude saying she's not allowed to make the appointment but she'll make an exception. After that initial conversation, I was a little hesitant to book with them, but my appointment was time sensitive so decided to continue with it. Now this information is vital for anyone interested in booking an appointment with their office who DOES NOT have insurance. When I was on the phone, she mentioned that she COULD NOT disclose the amount of money until the day before my appointment and not to worry if I had to cancel because there is no cancellation fee. Upon hearing this, I hung up and tried scheduling with other offices, but there were no available appointments within the time I needed to schedule an appointment. So I kept the appointment with DP. Today is the day before the appointment, and I was told through a text message that it would cost $1,140 out of pocket. I was livid. I immediately called the office and asked over the phone how much it would cost and the same amount was told to me. I was shocked. I asked if this is typical for their office to disclose ONLY the day before, and she replied, "well if you don't have insurance and we don't check it until the day before your appointment, then yes. And it looks like your appointment was overlooked, so we didn't notify you." I'm close to tears by now, realizing I'm going to have to cancel my anatomy appointment. I let her know that when I originally booked the appointment, I told the receptionist, Trish, I did NOT have insurance and I'd appreciate the cost so I could plan accordingly. The receptionist I spoke with today, Lauren, apologized profusely and mentioned that if I expressed that in the initial appointment, they could have told me the total amount. Instead, 3 weeks later, I'm told the amount it would cost and will have to cancel my appointment. I will never recommend this office to anyone. read more

Please explain this to me...: Appointment at 9:15 took me in at 10 am had me connected to monitor heart beat for a whole hour... then says that they will hold me in that room until an ultrasound room becomes available. Get into ultrasound room at 11 and nobody has came in and it's 11:30. This is ridiculous. No apologies no nothing- I had my mom taking care of my toddler in the waiting room i had to tell her to take my car and go home as this was taking way too long! I am now leaving it is 12pm and the doctor didn't even come in to talk to me about results nor anything. My first pregnancy was so different coming here wish I could have rated higher. read more

They have one really good tech and if I could see her every time I would. She explains what you are looking at through the whole process and she gets great pictures of the baby. However mostly everybody at this office seems miserable and rude. I discussed my concerns with Dr. Khine today about me feeling like the tech I got today took pretty lousy pictures of my baby's heart and everything else to boot. This is not my first baby, it's my fourth so I am very familiar with how an ultrasound session should go when looking at in-depth photos of baby's heart. She was like well from what I saw the pictures look great I'm not looking for cuteness. She also said "well I don't understand do you just want to leave or??" No what I want is to make sure that you guys are doing what you're supposed to and getting good looks at my baby's anatomy. my concern was that structurally the pictures of my baby's heart and anatomy as a whole looked terrible so I told her I hope she got what she needed. I am concerned that everything was pretty rushed and lackluster and if there is a problem with my baby she would not know. She did try to get some better photos but I just found her to be rude overall and she should've listened to my concerns without taking offense. I would say if you do have real concerns with having a healthy baby or you are certain your baby could have developmental issues not to go to this office. Right after I left I switched locations. I won't be back I don't need the negativity while I'm pregnant. Be clear that you guys are being paid from my private insurance and I don't deserve to be treated like this, nor does any other patient. If you guys are not passionate and empathetic about the care you give maybe you need to find a different profession. I'm a nurse and her bedside manner like most doctors is terrible. I've put off writing this review bc every time I tried, I cried. I had the most AMAZING doctor there - Dr. Bohman. I can't say enough good things about him. Unfortunately he passed away shortly after my daughter was born. So this review is going to focus more on the staff/nurses that work there and the overall office....and all of it is worth five stars. Having a high risk pregnancy means a ton more doctor appointments. This means you really have to like your doctors office bc you will be there all the time. During my multitude of doctor visits, I never had a negative experience. Everyone (from front desk to ultra sound techs, to nurses) always greeted me with a smile. As my pregnancy progressed they knew me by name. During every ultra sound, if I had a different tech, they were very cautious and always asked if I knew the sex of the baby or if I didn't want to know (I did IVF so I knew immediately). Oh and the techs always printed me off pics - they would even spend extra time trying to get a good pic! They explained every step, every test. I was a paranoid first time mom and they eased my fears at every visit by being so informative and so thorough. This doctors office also partners with an infant cardiologist to come to one of your appointments to look at your baby's heart. The same cardiologist company comes to the hospital to again examine your baby's heart. I can't remember the specific statistics but bc of this preemptive examination they're able to detect and treat any potential heart defects at astonishing faster rates (which translates into much better outcomes for the babies). My daughters heart was fine but again - just an example of how thorough Desert Perinatal is. If we have another child, there's no other doctors office that I want to go to. So my story begins with over 10 years of infertility. I could not sustain a pregnancy, so we went the IVF route. After finally getting pregnant, and making it past the 8 week mark, I searched high and low for the best MFM in the area and came across Dr. Wilkes at Desert Perinatal Associates. I made my first appointment and after that appointment I knew I was in the best hands possible. Dr. Wilkes is amazing and I truly believe that if not for him, I may not have my beautiful baby boy today. My pregnancy was high risk is almost every way possible, three previous miscarriages, IVF pregnancy, I am overweight, gestational diabetes, and velamentous cord insertion. Dr. Wilkes monitored my pregnancy like a hawk, ensuring that our baby boy was safe at all times. No question was too dumb, no concern was too small. He made us feel validated in our feelings at all times and treated us like family every time he saw us. I appreciate Dr. Wilkes and his team more than I can ever express. He literally made all of our dreams come true. If we were ever to have another baby Dr. Wilkes would be who we choose no doubt! read more

I would give negative stars if I could. I'm writing this from a hospital bed fighting to get out of stroke range from a SECOND dose of negligence from Dr. Khine. She is nice but awful. If u have actual complications and aren't just older or such she is not who you want to see EVER. Wouldn't let her treat my cabbage patch. I've spent a whole week in the hospital at her doing. My kid got to find me passed out in my shower last weekend thanks to her "expertise". She could have avoided crisis today but yet again made a stupid decision. I think she listens more to her ego than to her patients who know their bodies. At this point my regular OB (not high risk specialist) was providing more competent care. If u want you and your baby to be okay don't go to her! Side note: Dr. Keeler is great, but at Rancho office which is kinda a zoo. Like a day at a welfare office. But the staff is great and so is he. So if u have no other choice but DPA I'd say try Keeler. read more

Checked in at 217p for my 230p appointment. It was pretty simple as there was only one in the waiting room. Reception pulled my chart and I sat in the waiting room. I was called back at 235p which wasn't bad wait since my appointment was for 230p. Got prepped for my ultrasound and it started at 240p. It was a LONG ultrasound but understandable for a level 2 anatomy scan and a cardiology scan. After all was done I saw the doctor. The visit itself was painless but the knowledge gained was pretty awful. My original OB reffered me to this office because I was advanced maternal age. Did one visit and they quickly advised they wanted to keep seeing me even though all my stats were stellar. I declined. So a few weeks later my OB advised I had a 2.5cm cervix and referred me here again. I got in for an appointment quickly and was advised it was 4cm which is above normal. But wait... There's more. One of the staff made a comment that my OB probably stated 2.5cm so I would get worried and go back for a more in depth look. To me it seems like both my OB and the MFM are working my insurance because they both want me seen by the MFM often yet I have stellar stats. Whose really getting worked here?! read more

Was referred here by my OB for gestational diabetes. The staff here is so nice and welcoming! Donna, our dietitian was amazing at counseling me on what to eat and how to control my blood sugars. Dr. Adeshak was very knowledgeable and reassuring. The ultrasound and non stress test were super easy to book and were quick and easy. Never a long wait either! No apologies or thorough explanations by clerk, not kind not that rude just not too concerning or accountable...after getting in the back the other techs/nurses they explained they were backed up and thanked us for waiting. Wanted to love this place as it's down the street from my house but as soon as I approach the door there are signs hung up about 1 guest. Then as I approach the counter there are signs hung up about not bringing your children. The blond front desk receptionist was rude and unwelcoming. She quickly dismissed me and told me "you need to check in on your phone and have a seat and they'll call you back when ready" I inquired about checking in on my phone as it's my first time here and she replies "just like every time you have to check in on your phone and you will do that for every appointment" again let me reiterate THIS IS MY FIRST TIME AT THIS LOCATION!! I am 2 days past my due date, I'm tired, big and uncomfortable and the LAST thing I need is to not be treated with compassion and grace when I come to any perinatal appointments! My regular OB referred me here for dual care. The environment was calm and actually somewhat relaxing from the moment I came in and sat down in the waiting area. The ladies at the counter were warm and welcoming and also very helpful when I had to make future appointments. The ultrasound tech that I saw was so kind and respectful and she really made a point to explain to me everything she was seeing/what exactly she was looking for. I met with Dr. Khine and she was beyond kind and very reassuring. I am only 21 weeks pregnant so I will be coming here quite a bit so I'm glad the initial experience was positive and it makes me not dread future appointments. read more

Do not recommend. We did not get pictures from our first ultrasound and were told it's because of covid. Does your printer have covid!? My appointment was at 10:30 with a check in time of 10:15 and I sat there until 11:05. I have to be early or on time but they can keep me waiting. Also Dr. Bowman has a gift of looking at someone and diagnosing them as diabetic without seeing your recent labs. What a joke. I certainly do not trust them. While looking for the best OBGYN in town, I read reviews and reviews day after day, I was really impressed by Dr. Bowman's profile and great feedback from ladies who really enjoyed his care and attentive to any questions or concerns. My kids are all grown up and their OBGYN is retired. Dr. Bowman is wonderful, very caring and listens to his patients, his office is beautiful and staff are all so great! I'm glad we found him. Love this place! Very friendly staff. Never have a long wait to go to the back. They are very detailed when giving ultrasounds and explain everything to make sure you understand. The nurses here are great. They constantly check on you to make sure everything is going well. I had a nurse coming into the room every 10 mins to check my progress and bring me cold water and juice to help try to speed the process so I didn't have to be there for a long time. Dr.Bohman is an amazing doctor. He always walks in the room with a smile. It was definitely worth the drive from Summerlin to this office twice a week. read more

This completely upsets me to leave 4 stars, but in order to leave 5, the experience would have to be perfect. The experience with the front desk is where a star was lost. DOCTORS As far as doctors go, I'd rank these as top in the country (as I've been to many all over the U.S.) and highly recommend this group. Dr. Adashek is my doctor and not only is he an expert in his field, but his bedside manners make you feel comfortable and safe. I've recommended Dr. Adashek to my friends who were becoming Mom's and one actually switched OB/GYN's because her doctor was not making her pregnancy a time to remember, so Dr. Adashek took her in his care (after many conversations), and she had such a great experience, that she wants more children, just because of the wonderful care she received. I learned that after speaking to others, that they used Dr. Adashek to deliver their babies and continue to stay under his care. FRONT OFFICE STAFF Depending on which office you decide to go to, the front staff can be nice & professional, to not-so-welcoming. I know they deal with a lot of emergencies, however, it's their job, and their response to a situation sets the stage to how a patient is going to feel prior to seeing the nurse or doctor. I have found that in all of the offices, they are quite chatty and if you walk up to the counter after checking in, they make you feel like you're interrupting. I truly believe that the front office is the "face" of any organization and can make or break an experience. NURSING STAFF The nursing staff is without question friendly, upbeat, professional, courteous and creates a comfortable environment in an uncomfortable situation. Dr Bohman has been my OB for the full length of my pregnancy. This is baby#1 for me and it was very important that we found the best of the best. I researched healthgrades along with several other sites and he had some of the best reviews from patients. He is also qualified FACOG & was voted most compassionate doctor by his patients in 2011. Very comfortable office. Office staff is very friendly and compassionate. Wait times are normally 15 minutes and everyone has great bedside manner. One of the best experiences of care I 've ever had start to finish. Dr.Adashek is one of the most compassionate, smartest and overall passionate OBGYN I've ever met. After having an awful experience with a different obgyn, I was hesitant to trust another doctor with my second baby. After being so lucky to get in here...( and consider yourself lucky if you get to be delivered by any of these providers) I knew I was safe and my baby was safe in my high risk situation. Dr. Adashek never pressured me into something I didn't want to do, he gave me all of my options and led me and my baby to a great delivery. I will never forget this experience and I'm so beyond thankful for Dr.Adashek. Yes the waiting times can be long... but honestly that's what happens when you have good care since the doctors are in such high demand! read more

I had 3 C-sections and had to use a different doctor for my second child (because of insurance reasons). The doctor for my second child was awful and it was the most horrific experience ever. But I was able to get Dr. Wilkes back for my third child and he was spectacular. He's smart, funny and the best surgeon! He even fixed a pain I was having from the previous doctor's surgery. Im currently pregnant & expecting twins, my obgyn send me to this place & I was attending their location on Fort Apache but I guess the doctor was fully booked & they sent me to their other location in Henderson & I arrived 16 minutes before my appointment & they let me in the room quick & they checked my blood pressure then the employee explained that I had to remove my bottoms so they can check my cervix & I also explained to her that I've been having difficulty walking normal because I've been feeling pain on my vagina & she told me she would be back to check me just to get undressed so I did that & they left me unattended for almost an hour so I wrapped the sheet around my waist & I opened the door to let tan other employee know that I wasn't being seen & she told me to wait so I continued to wait & nobody came so I changed & walked out & I was leaving & all they said was "thank you" they didn't offer me to reschedule & they didn't give me an explanation to why they had left me in there without being seen. read more

Never have I ever dealt with this kind of incompetence at any doctors office. Not only did I wait over a month for this appointment, when I called to give my insurance a day before (my fault) they call me back to tell me they don't accept it and will not accept cash, because they know we have insurance that they cannot bill. How that makes sense, is beyond me. So, of course, being a pregnant woman with a difficult pregnancy, I cursed and was upset. Mind you, before I even got upset the woman was passive aggressive, rude, and condescending. "Well ma'am, we don't take your insurance and our billing department won't take your cash because we know you have insurance, so we won't be seeing you." When I called back & asked to speak to a superior, who was thankfully nicer & actually concerned with how my prior conversation went - she told me that they never took my insurance, when the woman prior, Jade, told me they had just received an email stating they no longer take the insurance. The supervisor then proceeds to tell me my acct is locked because I used "the F word". Hell yeah I did, that woman was being rude to me and basically telling me I've waited over a month not to be seen. The supervisor tells me she'll look into it & will call me Monday. At that point, I appreciate it but regardless of the outcome, I was not going to make this my primary. 10 minutes later JADE, the condescending one, calls me once again to add insult to injury and tells me because of my behavior, they won't be seeing me. Cool story hun, I wasn't planning on going back. Long story short, I've had friends who have had good experiences with this practice, but I have not & hope they get it together over there. It's a high risk center, meaning women calling/making appts aren't calling to talk about the weather. We're emotional and going through a tough pregnancy and if your staff can't empathize with that, good luck to you. read more

I had an abnormal anatomy scan at another doctors office and was referred here. Everything was 5 stars. Starting from when I called to schedule my appointment, the lady was phenomenal and made sure I was taken care of. I had a minimal wait time to be scene and once I got back there they really made me feel so comfortable. They were behind thorough and didn't skip a beat. Dr Roberts, nurse Alex, Melissa, and Lori were such a great team for me especially during a time when I was being delivered such bad news about my baby. I'm so thankful for them. I can't say it enough, Dr. Wilkes is AMAZING. I have had 2 prior losses and we are finally 17 weeks pregnant and things are going amazing thanks to Dr. Wilkes. He continues to provide the best patient care with amazing bedside manner. If I even get a single doubt or fear he is a text or call away. He always responds immediately and will even get me into the office right away if I feel nervous at all. He once said that it is important to keep momma healthy and happy starting from your head all the way down, experiencing stress and concerns are normal, but he is so good at reassuring me that things are amazing. I have been able to bring my in-laws and husband to appointments and they all agree that he is truly incredible. I can't wait for him to deliver our sweet baby girl. From the time my daughter Kristin was referred to Desert Perinatal to the date, March 20th Dr Bohman delivered our precious granddaughter, the staff has been phenomenal.
