They had this pre packaged pollo asado that was absolutely amazing and the woman who worked there said the local fire crew refer to it as crack chicken. Haven't been keeping up their Weekly Ad flyers or online Ad up to date. They always had great stuff. Hard to shop when you have no Ad to go from and miss any sales. They've made alot of room for new things, always stocked. Plenty of parking, great site. Handicap accessessable. Lots of local produce and fresh ! read more

Pataks pickled lime spicy condiment our favorite spicy condiment. Perfumed, so if you are sensitive to smells it is not a great place to go. Service was excellent, people working here are very friendly and helpful. That's a good thing, since many items are not clearly marked with their prices. They did have grass-fed beef and some organic produce. They are also across the street from Center Market, so between these two grocers, you will find nearly anything you need. The local grocers are no doubt hurting lately. DG market just opened down the road. I avoid Dollar General (= DG Market) whenever possible. They have single-handedly bankrupted local family owned businesses in hundreds of small towns across the USA. I can afford to shop small, family owned businesses, and I think it my duty to fight "the corporate machinery" with the dollars I spend. read more

Desert Pantry is your best bet for groceries in Borrego Springs. This tiny market carries the requisite staples, but the selection varies by season. Borrego Springs is a community of almost 4,000 residents in the winter when it is not too hot to be there, and Desert Springs Grocers is one of two markets. The other one is ridiculously priced so I am thankful for this market. if they tried to stock everything it would go bad and they strike a nice balance of staples with a few random items mixed in. During peak tourist times like Borrego Days, Golf Classic, or the borrego night sky events prices climb because there is a limited amount of stock and a bunch of hungry and thirsty people. So be smart, travel with your own tequila and you will not get sticker shock at Desert Pantry Grocers. read more

'The Pantry' as us locals refer to it is absolutely the *finest* grocery market in Borrego Springs. They have recently more than doubled the size and I'm completely over-the-top that now we have a real *super* market right here in Borrego! Thanks to The Pantry I don't have to make so many trips to Indio, Ramona or Escondido to get the foods I love. As a vegetarian I am so happy with their expanded selection of great fruits n veggies. There's only one other grocery in town and everybody shops at both. Not taking away from the other one, just their focus is a li'l different. It's really a win-win for all! Yaaay!! read more

This is a small grocery store with a limited amount of items they carry. We went in for cough drops and they didn't have much in the way of medicine. We also had a hard time finding honey but eventually did. Prices seem to be higher than the grocery store across the street. For general items, you should be able to find them here but if you are looking for something specific, try the grocery across the street. read more

It's efficient for your needs. We forgot to buy bread for our sandwiches and thanks to this place, we had sandwiches for lunch. :) It's a fairly decent size and plenty of options. It's out in the desert, so you can't expect a Ralph's or Trader Joe's. Prices are reasonable and it's around a great spot where the other shops are as well which is nice. very rude, unhelpful staff that don't know what they're doing. i tried to talk with roger about the problem, but he isn't in the store, and you can't leave a message on voice mail because it's always full. i was trying to see if the shipment of eggs came in, (that was on the cart behind pam), but pam rudely said no it wasn't, only to come back 1/2 hr later to find it was on that delivery cart after all. we have been advised that people over 65 need to stay home because of the coronavirus, but i had to come back in the store twice that day because pam is just so cranky, and doesn't want to take the time to look at the cart that was behind her, to give me a correct answer. 90% of the time she is cranky, n unhelpful, along with 2 other younger workers there. it's hard to believe that roger keeps this kind of staff around, he is so kind. makes people not want to go to the local store to get their groceries! i've talked with many borregians here and they all say the same thing. read more
