This is for 3.5 stars…read more When I am rating a school, that my son's team plays against, I am rating the venue, the location of the field, as spectators, the parking situation, the ease of getting to the field, from the parking lot, the vibe of the crowd -if they are rowdy or lively, and the behavior of the opposing flag football team, in general. I will also be taking pictures and videos to back my experience. 2026- Flag Football Schedule- Boys- Middle School. There are twelve games in the regular season (minus pre-season). My son's school team will play them twice: Game 7 (home)- September 29, 2026- this was a Win for us, and Game 13- October 21, 2026, (away), at 3:30 pm, today. Located in Southern Highlands area. I went from work so I took the I-15. Exit 31. *Four positive reviews here on Yelp.* Five-5, two stars or less reviews, which is not good, in general. And (2) three star reviews. The small parking lot is located at the front. There are signs posted for the proper Direction. I believe it was 1 way in, and 1 way out. I was trying to figure out how to get to the field; but it was locked up. Until a few minutes. The field was opposite the sun, so this was a plus. Small field. Could not set up on the grass, a ref had us move. Too many ants, watch out, they were on my feet! It was a good turnout. Lots of spectators. No cheerleaders, but ours were here. Sometimes during a game, you find that the Refs make bad calls. This was the case here. Hubby calls this ticky- tacky. The crowd was lively, not rowdy. Many of the negative reviews are written by people have written very few reviews, under five, which to me, is very low. I also didn't know that minors could write reviews here too, which seems strange to me. The website is user-friendly and easy to navigate. There was a scoreboard. The position we were in was facing the sun. Someone had a dang horn. We had two students that attend this school support their teammate (NYS league), my son, but we've been doing the same by going to the other teammates games too. Our boys lost but my son had five flag pulls and a sack on your team. And don't you know, I was yelling when my boy did well. Defensively this was probably his best game. He plays several positions.

Overall though, they seem pretty decent and want your child to succeed, even offering free after school tutoring. Some were very quick to respond to emails, some you would wait 1-2 days before hearing anything back. As far as homework load, that seemed fairly balanced. My child didn't have much trouble getting it done. My only suggestion would to be to switch up the semester Science projects. It was the exact same packet and project choices, for five years. They never did anything different and by grade 8, my child was mind numbingly bored with the same options. Next: bullying and drugs. Bullying is absolutely not tolerated here. Shout out to the Vice Principal, Mrs. Chipman, whom nips it in the bud with a quickness. They also have zero tolerance when it comes to drugs and are swift to react to any incidents. So high kudos for that. School events; a few are themed and very cute, others thrown together with very little thought (especially this last year). There would be only a couple days notice to the day before the event. It was strange. Graduation for 8th grades was not well executed either; no enforcement on the 4 tickets limit given so everyone that wanted to, attended (aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, you name it). They ran out of seating quickly due to this. It was unfair to those that followed the guidelines and they never addressed it. For a school that is so stringent with kids regarding rules, that was a bit disappointing to see. Next up, the front office... if you're lucky enough to catch them on a good day, they can be very helpful but again, that is a mixed experience. Catch them on (regular) bad days and they are dismissive, short, and rude. As someone who has to make calls throughout the day at my job -and- taking in consideration that I'm sure they deal with a few unpleasant parents, I'm always polite, not once ever calling with an attitude. It doesn't seem to matter. And God help you if you get ahold of Alisha; the rudest, most foul tempered of the lot. How she still works there is absolutely beyond me. If I spoke to clients the way she does to parents, I'd be fired in an instant. It got to the point that if I heard her voice answer, I would just hang up and try again later. Last but not least, the emails. I get that they need to keep people informed but the frequency that they send them is just obscene. I'm not joking. It's -at least- three times a week and the timing is so random. Sometimes you'll get them at 2pm and sometimes you'll get them at 5pm, 7pm, and up to 9pm. Weekends aren't safe either. They really need to learn to reel that in with designated frequency, days, and times. It gets overwhelming quick and it's easy to miss updates. Overall, it's an okay school but needs some restructuring, especially the front office staff.

Next day the school expelled me and I'm sure even the kids who tried to start trouble with me did not receive any punishment. The vice principal at the time had no sympathy, did not care about my situation and decided to suspend me.
