Our favorite part is the train car set up beside the deck. The distillery features rums, whiskey and other items.

Who would have expected interesting and well-made rums in the middle of the desert?? It was fun taking a journey along their various spirits, and a short little distillery/aging room tour. The owners are really into their craft and it comes through with fun excitement and the way they share what they do. I tried a variety of the liquors and while some were not my thing, some were interesting and very good, and most importantly to me--unique.

Took a detour in Kingman & found this diamond in the desert. Tasting room was fun and very comfortable, Our server Patti was off the charts & We even got to meet the distiller who was super friendly.

Owner John was super friendly, we enjoyed tasting the rum. We took home a bottle of the Rye Rum and the agave rum which is a little sweeter (no mixing needed) and will be nice to sip on in the evening. Oh... and there is a train caboose you can rent out as an Airbnb on the property.

My husband and I really enjoyed our time at the Desert Diamond Distillery. We liked our grilled cheese sandwiches in the Pullman car and loved reading the history of Pullman porters. I thought the balsamic vinegars were delicious and my husband really enjoyed the whiskeys. The place is dog friendly; it was wonderful to not have my four-legged friends stay alone in the RV. The distillery is also a member of Harvest Hosts. They were so welcoming upon our arrival. What a wonderful place to spend an evening and night.

Train cars! Beautifully redone. One is furnished as an airbnb. Wouldn't that be a fun stay?

We had such a great time at the distillery. Over 2 nights we tried both of their tasting flights and wow, the flavors are amazing. Rum, whiskey, vodka... what!?! All interesting and different and delicious. They also have a great assortment of flavored olive oils and vinegars. We purchased a bottle of the dark rum (totally sippable and mixable) and a bottle of Basil Olive Oil. I can't wait to try it over pasta. John, the owner and spirit master, was super enjoyable and took us on a tour of his restored train cars. You've got to see the Pullman!

We had an great time learning about rum, vodka and whiskey from John and Debbie. We loved the agave rum and bought a bottle for our travels. We stayed here through harvest hosts and are so glad we did. Plenty of room for our 43' Fifth wheel and truck to turn around and to sleep comfortably for the night. The owners are friendly and accommodating and we had a great time here!

We came here as Harvest Host visitors and loved it!! After towing a 5th wheel trailer from Los Angeles, a whiskey tasting is what is needed! What a way to unwind!! We did the whiskey and rum tasting and wanted to buy some for the road. Our dog was welcomed inside and they had a water dish for him. They had a charcuterie board available that was delicious!! They have other items available for purchase but I plopped in a chair and drank lovely whiskey until the road weariness went away! The owners are fabulous. We chatted for 2 hours that seemed like 5 minutes. They are doing some innovative things with the distilling process that are very unique to their brand. And free range chickens!

John & Deborah, thank you again (this is our 3rd or 4th visit) for your hospitality, out-of-the-box business thinking, fantastical cocktails, and down-to-Earth conversations. We love hearing you're doing well and hope to join one of your dinner events soon! Ward and I enjoyed their Devil's Espresso Chocolate Kiss Martini and Devils Dark Citris Kiss! #HalloweenCocktails #kingman Oh...and TYVM Smith, for literally driving an hour forty minutes each way for me to try, enjoy, and get buzzed off of this "BOO"ze!You are a generous man and I do not take you for granted. https://desertdiamonddistillery.com

Awesome food, awesome service, awesome place! Wonderful ambience best in the area, probably the world!

A few of D3's exceptional offerings.

While on a road trip, we stopped in Kingman Arizona, where we met John Patt, owner and distiller at Desert Diamond Distillery. After tasting several of his award winning rums and vodka, a few came home with us. If you enjoy sipping a really good drink, stop in and get yourself a bottle or a few.

I cannot recommend this highly enough. Our guide, Kelly, had old pictures and knew so much of this history of Old Las Vegas. It was amazing!! He told us where to get affordable water (ABC stores) and why ABC stores (which are Hawaii-based stores) are around, took us through the history of so many hotels and the highlights. We did this in December, so I am sure it is a lot hotter in the summer, but there is a lot of indoor space. I'd still recommend a water bottle. All of us loved learning and he was a great story teller. You go all the way down to Container Park and get some coupons and restaurant tip sheet at the end. You will be on your feet for two hours so wear comfy shoes. But we actually would consider staying down in "old Las Vegas" the next time we come, all because of this tour.

This experience was unforgettable from start to finish in their 165 acre property. We kicked off the day with a short ride on Jafar, a stunning, gentle giant weighing nearly 3,000 pounds. ( love at first sight) After taking some amazing photos with him, he happily stayed nearby and spent the rest of the day with us. From there, we met several other camels and hopped on the tram, where more adventures were to be had . Along the way, we encountered so many incredible animals, more camels, a zedonk, llamas, alpacas, and miniature horses. One of the highlights was feeding Thorn, their adorable pet porcupine, grapes she was just the sweetest little girl. We also got to see New Guinea singing dogs (so cute!) and Ambien, their 20-year-old sloth, who was just as amazing to see in person as you'd imagine. Feeding the alpacas and llamas carrots was such a fun, hands-on experience. As if that wasn't enough, four friendly Ridgeback dogs casually joined us on the tram, roaming freely and adding even more charm to the day. Every animal we encountered was gentle, well cared for and clearly loved . I truly can't say enough wonderful things about this experience it was pure joy from beginning to end. If you've never met a camel, Ilama, or alpaca, you're missing out. These gentle creatures will absolutely fill your heart. I'm already looking forward to going back again soon. I didn't want the day to end . This is one adventure you don't want to miss it's truly an overload of joy! "LIVE LIFE WITH LOVE & LAUGHTER" ~PEACE JODY~

First, you NEED to make a reservation before going…read more I never knew we had a ranch with 30 Camels, Alpacas, a Llama, New Guinea Singing Dogs, a Two Toed Sloth, an African Crested Porcupine, a Donkey and a few other animals about an hour outside of Las Vegas. Guy the owner, an amazing bank of knowledge, he knows so much about each animal and more. He is a little rough around the edges and some may think him rude; you try to manage a 176 acre ranch with well over 60 animals who have to be fed daily, not so easy... The Camels have a diet of lettuce, carrots, sweet potatoes, apples; the sloth has a special diet which includes egg whites, the ranch dogs get the yolk as a daily treat and they know when that's coming. So in addition to taking care of all the animals, the ranch which is 176 acres, there are also tours to manage. So show him a little appreciation for what he does every day, seven days a week, etc... You can do camel rides, an ATV experience, a zoo tour on a tram, it's not easy and I feel for him so if you go out there, understand his personality has to be rough to deal with all this. Also understand, each animal has its own personality and feelings. Yesterday, Norm a camel used for rides was having a bad day. He was not in the mood for riders. I first tried to ride Norm, he was calm getting his saddle on but once I got on him, he was nope. When Allie got me off of Norm, Norm had an attitude with both Allie and Guy, Norm had to be put in a kennel which Norm was not happy about but needed a time out. So remember, dealing with 30 camels, mini horses, a Llama, Alpacas, a sloth, etc; they are dealing with a lot of different personalities and feelings in addition to people coming to visit. Safety is taken as a HIGH priority. These animals can inflict pain & even death, so I have a LOT of respect for Guy & Allie. They not only have to be concerned with adults but children as well. We arrived at 8:45 which is when the gate is opened, we met Allie and Guy along with another couple. We rode first and as I said Norm was not happy so I got off and they took my friend around the track. Upon coming back with my friend, a whole group showed up for the zoo tour so we were asked if we minded doing the zoo tour and then we will get back to the camel ride. No biggie... The zoo tour was amazing. We got on the tram and were taken to see every animal on the property stopping in each area, learning all about the animals in that area with the opportunity to ask questions, got to go in the kennel to feed the Llama and Alpacas, cool animals, petted the zebra, fed and petted the porcupine, got up close and personal with the sloth and just had an amazing experience. The knowledge gained yesterday was so cool. Once the zoo tour was over I got to ride Lodi. The camel ride was really cool, long and a really neat experience I would do again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go out and visit this Camel Safari. They need the support as they have a lot of mouths to feed daily and you will have an amazing experience in the Nevada desert.

My friend and I had the most incredible experience kayaking out of Willow Beach to the Emerald Caves, and I genuinely cannot say enough good things about this team. From the moment we arrived, everything felt organized, welcoming, and thoughtfully run. Blair was absolutely amazing--friendly, knowledgeable, and just one of those people who makes you feel at ease right away. And Wolfe (his adorable dog!) completely stole my heart. It honestly added such a fun, personal touch to the whole experience. The rest of the staff were just as fantastic--super attentive, upbeat, and clearly passionate about what they do. The trip itself? Unreal. The water at Willow Beach is stunning, and paddling into the Emerald Caves felt like something out of a dream. The views, the calmness, the whole atmosphere--it was the perfect mix of adventure and peace. What really stood out to me was how safe and comfortable they made me feel the entire time. They took the time to make sure I understood everything, checked in along the way, and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. TWO DAY raft tour review (will be long, so I apologize in advance!). I noticed there weren't a lot…read moreof reviews on overnight (two day) rafting trip, so I wanted to show some pictures and give a good overview. My dad and I went on this trip We booked this trip just a few months ago, after finding this is the only rafting company that has just a two-day paddle rafting tour. All others were 4, 8, or more days. We found out that the Hualapai tribe has the only road that leads down to the bottom of the canyon that isn't at the very start of the canyon, or end of the canyon (where you end your ride). So you can essentially "jump" on the river mid-canyon and you raft 53 miles to the end of the canyon, where you exit. There is a one day tour done by this company that is NOT paddling, but just riding in a motorized boat. They go the whole 53 miles in one day. They start and end at the same place we did, we just stop halfway (around 32 miles) to sleep for the night. We obviously go slower because we have to paddle the first 13 miles. You will have rapids and paddle for the first 13 miles of the trip. Once you complete those 13 miles (about 7-8 rapids), you will tether up to a motorized boat and be towed the other 20 miles to camp (with no rapids). Trust me -- it's hot and exhausting, so you will be ready to be towed! Day two is being towed all day. No more paddling, no more rapids. I highly suggest getting a room the night before the trip at the lodge (on the website). But BEWARE the lodge is literally right beside a very active train track. So it's loud throughout the night with train horns. Do what you will with that. Ear plugs? Ambien? Whatever suits you. But it's definitely the best place to stay the night before. They have a nice little restaurant in the lodge to grab dinner. I really liked the stew and fry bread, but they have a nice selection of other items. The ride down to the river is only about an hour, and pretty fun. You go on a bus (no air conditioning, but windows open and it's early in the day, so it's not hot at all), and the drivers will inform you about things you see and the history of the Hualapai tribe who owns the land. Once you get to the river, they will assign you a boat and captain, and you will get your life jacket and helmet on (both required). You put your things in a big red dry bag about 3 foot tall. I would say you have one dry bag for every two ppl. You will hit a rapid right when you take off, which is pretty fun! Better learn how to row as a group quick. Ha! Our captains were Cody and Scott, both who were excellent at guiding our groups through the rapids. There is a supply boat that will follow with your dry bags, tables for dinner, food supplies, etc Not even one person fell off either of our boats on our trip . We had lots of big rapids, but great captains who guided us through safely! Remember there are only 7-8 total rapids, and they all happen in the first 13 miles. So enjoy the "crazy adventure" at the beginning, because you won't get more rapids the rest of the day or next day! It is HOT, so make sure to have your water bottle and ample sunscreen. And a hat to block the sun. We stopped at a beach (not a camping park, just a Sandy beach along the River) for the night. There is no electricity, no running water, and no porta potties. They do setup a "bathroom" on the beach that is a can with a toilet seat lid on it. Not luxurious, but it's setup in a private area, and gets the job done! You pick your campsite, and they provide the sleeping bags, pad for the bags to lay on, and tent (if you want it). It was BEAUTIFUL. And I am not an "outdoor" sleeper. But the stars and the sound of the river, and the breeze. It was wonderful! Make sure to stay up until about 10pm to see a SKY full of stars! They make an amazing dinner for you of steak, mashed potato and salad. Even more delicious after a tiring day!! Sodas are also available! The next morning, they will have eggs, bacon, coffee (bring your own cup), cereal, fruit --- a fantastic breakfast. You get towed about 4.5-5 hours that day (stopping for lunch), and then stop at the end of the canyon at the first exit road there is (53 miles later!). It's a lengthy ride back (2.5 hours), and you maybe in an air conditioned van, or on the bus. We got the vans today, so were pretty comfy. We booked another night at the lodge, and ate at the restaurant again, and had the stew!! Overall it was an amazing experience. Truly one you can't get anywhere else. Because the tribe owns this part of the river and the ONLY access road, it is the most unique way to see the bottom of the canyon. Cody, Scott and Dale were absolutely out of this world in knowledge and service . Very kind, helpful and taking care of every need (and taking lots of pictures!).

We were there Friday, 7/8/22. This was one of our favorites (a close second to the beauty of Carlsbad Caverns!). Victor was our "skipper" and he and the photographer were great people to have spent the day with. It was my husband, my son, myself, and a family of four (young-adult children) from the UK. We stayed the night at the Hualapai Lodge where we spent two pleasant evenings. The restaurant was basically cafeteria food, and no other real options nearby. But it was decent enough. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. We were picked up that morning in the bus. It was a retired school bus with the windows down and the air temp was comfortable enough. The bus driver made sure to offer us water the entire ride which took about an hour and a half, with one or two stops for pics along the way (as requested by one of the other travelers). There were 35 of us that day. There are porta potties at the river before you take off. They had one very large drybag available to stash your things in, and we had already brought our own, so they stashed that for us, too. They had plenty of water and soda available in their cooler if you needed it. We started our very hot day riverside and before we hit our first rapids were given a quick safety lesson about what to do if we fell within or outside of the boat. At one point my husband slipped inside the boat after the most "severe" rapid and sat as told, until we were cleared. Viktor kept us safe and worked the rapids well. While still traversing the rapids, we stopped at the falls. I was surprised that the stop was so soon during the trip, but that's how the geography worked out. It was beautiful and an easy climb/hike up to the falls. The fresh water was cool and refreshing and we got to spend a good amount of time exploring the beauty of the area. After that stop we stopped 3 or 4 more times along the river. Once for lunch (which was simple but perfectly satisfying). We all had a deli meat sandwich with lettuce and tomato and cheese, a packet of mayo and mustard, and a bag of chips to choose from as well as a bag of carrots and water or soda to choose from. After that, we stopped another time to cool down in the water as the air gets super hot down there once the rapids aren't actively splashing you. (There is almost always spray coming at the front of the boat, so rotate there if you need to cool down.) They gave us more snacks to choose from- nuts/cookies/chips/etc. Another time we stopped for another cool down and one of the other riders in our boat asked if we could float down the river in our life vests for a while. Viktor obliged the request and we were allowed to float down the river for about half an hour until Viktor powered back up and came and scooped us out of the water- that was such an amazing experience! We stopped at least once more to cool down, it was about once an hour. The water is very cold- no more than 60 degrees (it gets warmer the further down the river you go). At one point we saw wild ram along the cliffside and Viktor made sure to stop and point them out to us so we could watch them hop un and down the cliffs. I saw the repeated warnings about the trip and was concerned that we'd not have a good experience, but we'd all do it again in a heartbeat!! Look, this is not a ride at an amusement park. This is mother nature. And she can be a real b!tch. These guys are working with decent equipment but are working on real rapids on a real river in real conditions. We had amazing skippers, more than enough food and water, and plenty of chances to stop to cool down. We did get some good water shoes with treads, a long sleeve UV shirt, and hats and glasses with straps because without them we most certainly would have lost them on the rapids. Also- a waterproof pouch for your phone is a good idea. We did bring snacks and water "just in case", but they were not needed. We stopped at the end of our day ("docked" about 5pm) at the Family Dollar where we grabbed some ice cream and snacks- but they still had plenty of powerade etc available for us if we needed/wanted it. There were some weak bladders on the bus, so we also had to stop at a gas station which delayed our 2.5 hour bus ride back home. The bus windows were up and the air was on, but it wasn't exactly cold air we had. That being said, it wasn't uncomfortable either. There is a QR code provided to access the professional photos that were taken on the trip. This really was an amazing adventure and we are so grateful that the Hualapai share the beauty of their canyon with us!
