My friend & I had an hour to spare before she needed to bring me to the airport & she wanted to stop by this store. I was amazed @ how organized it looked upon entering. Their clothes are separated by their color (love this!). Of course they have size dividers on the clothing racks. Clothes were in pretty good condition & I found that their prices were reasonable unlike another common thrift store in town. They even have dressing rooms! Only problem I found with their dressing rooms is there is no bench to sit down on if needed nor anyplace to set your purse. I only found 3 posts to hang clothes on but unfortunately others had left their unwanted items on them. I did find a rack outside the dressing room to hang your clothes on that don't fit/you don't like. I had to use the bathroom while there & found the ladies room clean & they even had more than one stall. There was two water fountains outside of the bathrooms & one had a filter water option so if you happen to bring in your water bottle you can fill it up with filtered water. I wish on their shoe racks that they had the sizes on the shelves & their shoes organized by their size. I found an expensive pair of dress pants for only $5.00! I also found a large selection of crafting scissors & bought a couple of them to use with a scrape book that I want to put together. There was no line when I went to check out. The cashier was nice. The store didn't have a strong smell of air freshener like some other thrift stores have. I didn't feel gross after shopping here. I'll definitely want to stop in here again next time I'm in town visiting my friend. I was very impressed. :-) read more

This is going to sound weird...but Deseret Industries is almost too clean/organized for a thrift store. Where is the struggle? I joke - but only slightly. The store is very clearly laid out and labeled, some displays are done by color and it makes the store really look sharp. They had a lot of inventory (mostly clothing), but most brands were from lower end stores or clothing for older age groups. The prices were fine for some of the high end stuff, high on the lower end brands. I enjoyed that the fitting rooms have a simple "vacant/occupied" lock on the door and you don't have to wait for someone to unlock them for you. And those were clean, which is a huge bonus. I feel like this is a great thrift store if you're looking for something specific (ie, I need an orange shirt for Halloween) or for an older demographic. read more

After our ongoing negative experiences with thrift stores in Pennsylvania, my GF took us to Deseret Industries in Tucson AZ. It seems to be exactly what a thrift store should be: not fancy, but at least somewhat clean and organized, with actual thrift pricing. It's still like a thrift store: somewhat unorganized and lots of stuff people didn't want... but also stuff some of us DO want, and with a little bit of effort looking through the merchandize. And REASONABLE PRICES! I ended up getting two books (one paperback in like-new condition, and an old classic hardcover in good condition), and some decent sleeping pants, all for $8. This would have been impossible at the thrift places in my region. All the usual things you'd expect from thrift stores were here. I don't know what the trick is; why is this better than other thrift stores? Maybe the other thrift stores are losing their mission; I don't know. I'm not keen on religious organizations of any kind, but I have read up on Deseret Industries on Wikipedia and it SOUNDS like they're doing good. I hope the reality is equal to the impressions. read more

I love this store. It's always clean, well organized, and fully stocked. The prices can't be beat and no tax. There are lots of fitting rooms open, and no chasing down an employee for a key. There are also public bathrooms that they keep nice and clean. It's busy on Saturday so I prefer to come through the week. read more

Wowzers! So much great stuff here! Everything seems to be color coordinated so it's very easy to look for items you might be interested in! I recently bought candle holder for my friend and they were very heavy glass and were $2 each! Definitely recommend and worth visiting if you like to thrift! Lots of clothing for women, some for men and a little for children. I've found some great things here; they always have lots of interesting lamps and pictures and other household/craft items. Furniture is in fairly good condition (better than Goodwill, but not as good as Salvation Army, in my opinion.) The check-out people are friendly. The prices are pretty typical for thrift stores, I just wish they had a senior discount day or sales every now and again. I am a regular shopper--the key to thrifting is you have to be willing to go often and look through everything to find the good stuff! I found a brand new curtain rod in the box with all the hardward for $6 that retailed for $40. read more

It's very large, prices were reasonable, and organized by color. So aesthetically the thrift store is pleasing. However, the clothes there were not very stylish. This is their new location and it is big. I like DI because it doesn't smell like other second-hand shops do. All second-hand shops have some degree of seeming disorder, but DI doesn't. The lighting is good, too, nice and bright. Large selection of clothes and goods. I suspect that this new location has increased traffic. The drive in donation is a big improvement and an easy way to do it. They do sell new furniture as well as used. The new furniture is manufactured by those who they give employment to. DI also helps to put people back on their feet and gives them training and a job. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? This is a new thrift store with lots of items. It's clean and organized. They have carts and hand baskets as you walk in. They have new and used items. They have women's, mens, and childrens clothes and shoes. They have furniture, games, dishes, DVDs, picture frames, craft items and lots more. The dressing rooms are open if you need to try items on. My only issue was it's a little tight when you are walking around the racks while pushing a cart. Otherwise, it's a pretty big store full of stuff. Once you are done, they have lots of cashiers to help you so you don't have wait to long. read more

Popped in here to purchase t shirts to work some DIYs at home as I didn't have anything I wanted to ruin if paint spilled. It was difficult as I wanted junky T-shirts but some were too nice. Go figure! Prices are reasonable like a thrift store should be but the exception to this thrift store, it was super clean & well organized. Workers have a very weird vibe specifically one lady that stared me and my family down as we walked in. First time coming in, and I found the perfect TV stand for my brand-new apartment. Obviously I'm 5'1 and need help so I went to the front to ask if there's any sort of trolley/help w furniture. For starters, they have a lady working up there who can't even hear. I literally said "excuse me" 5 times in different ranges. Then the other lady at the register just looks at me and does not even know what a trolley is. And I'm no way tried to help me get someone who could help. read more
