I had a new roof installed back on July 8th by this company. They did a very good job. They completely removed and installed it in 6 1/2 hours. I like the new roof. However, I'm having an issue trying to get my $50 Amazon gift card, as promised by the project manager. I called and was told it would go out at EOM July when the rest would be mailed out in 1 batch with all the other customers cards. I called on August 14th and asked what happened to my gift card. The gal said it was an oversight and would be mailed out at the EOM August. We'll, here it is now September 12th and still no card. I called the office 2 days ago and talked to an answering service. She took my message and said she'd forward my concern. As of today, No one from this company has called me back to explain why I haven't been sent my $50 gift card. I just called the office again and the service again answered. I just hung up. I paid over $21,000 for the new roof so the $50 card is not the point. It's yet another company not following through on a promise they made. The $50 is peanuts. It's the fact I've been lied too and even worse no one bothered to return my call to apologize or talk to me. I respect actions over words. Clearly, they do not. read more

The Deschutes Roofing crew did a great job on our roof replacement. From our Sales guy; the Office staff; our superintendent over the work to the amazing crew that did the actual work, we couldn't be more satisfied! Watching the work done on the roof was like watching a choreographed team. These guys are hard workers and know their job. I really liked that Safety was a high priority and the crew of around 10 people were tied off while on the roof and even the ladders were tied off to the house to prevent slipping. I thought things were good. They tore off my roof and installed a new one in one day. Then there was a leak, they were supposed to come back and do some type of moisture test, but I never heard from them again. I had a torn shingle that they were to replace, but they never did. When I signed the contract for the roof replacement, it also included a free roof cleaning. After a year of not hearing from them, I called them and was told they don't offer that anymore. I told them that it was part of the original contract, they said they'd get back to me. Never heard from them again. What started out as "I would've recommended them to someone", is now just the opposite. If you want a fast roof, they're your guys. If you need them to follow up for any reason, I wish you luck. read more

Very dissatisfied with this company. Have done 4 roofs in the past and NEVER had a problem, until Deschuttes. Mediocre work, no integrity, they want the job done, they get in and out. No communication. Arrived and left without a word. Made choices for my roof without discussion. Did not want to accept responsibility for anything that went wrong ( and things went wrong) and care about customer satisfaction is nonexistent. Would not recommend. read more

They can put a roof on quickly, but don't hire them to do anything else like: Replacing facia boards; poor carpentry skills. Installing new gutters; they will sub that out. Unreliable sub. Damage to the property; damaged pavers when delivering shingles onto the roof. Walked away from fixing issues; just zero out the balance of my bill. I would have rather paid the balance owed and they fix the issues, than for me to find someone to do the repairs. I got an estimate to fix the pavers at over $2,000, so my wife and I pulled up the damaged pavers and fixed it ourselves, along with fixing the facia. So if you're looking for a new roof, they can do that, although they weren't so careful when they stripped the roof of the old shingles, and a lot landed in our landscaping. But don't count on them for gutters and facia repairs. read more

They did a great job on my new roof... but..... Communication is terrible. On the scheduled day it was raining and I was told that they were going to postpone for a day (logical !). Imagine my surprise a few hours later when I heard banging on the roof and their team was stripping off the old roof. Their crew didn't speak a word of English ! Cleanup. Now, two weeks later I am still picking up debris in my garden. Metal clips from heating tape and scraps from the old roof. The last item was for them to replace some vents under the eaves. Imagine my surprise when I saw them put a ladder ON the hot tub cover. That very nearly ended with my hot tub cover being trashed. End conclusion. I am still happy with the choice I made but they need to make some serious effort at improving communication and pay more attention to the homeowner's property. read more

Dave was the one who came over to do the estimate very pleasant to work with and personable . Mark, the superintendent was also very pleasant and the crew was very professional and hard-working. Our estimate was reasonable and communication excellent! Our roof was replaced in 1 day, plus several hours the following day due to materials needed! Clean-up was very good; foundation shrubs were covered with tarps. Magnets were used to collect nails and staples, old roofing was disposed the same day. I am a real estate broker who represents a seller, buyer has asked this contractor for a look at the roof to confirm inspectors concerns. They set a date to go out to the house, then changed it twice and then just showed up, with no advance warning to the sellers. This speaks to poor customer service/communication. Why would I hire a contractor to perform work, when they can't even make a phone call ! One of your estimators came by my sisters plalce in culver today, and mind you the roof was recently Replaced. He claimed there was fiber glass showing and shingles popping up. Which was not the case at all. My question is is do you guys just go from house to house making false claims in hopes that you will get jobs. Seems kinda dishonest to me. read more

I don't recommend this company. I did not have an on-site review and discussion of my job. In retrospect, I should have insisted on it. They did not replace the end caps so I had to hire a painter to paint the trim at significant extra cost to me. We used Deschutes Roofing to insulate our attic space as we had suffered through ice dam damage. Their inspector came out & performed a thorough inspection. Our upstairs furnace is in the attic space. We went with his recommendation & learned a few things from his explanation. Their installers were terrific men & kept us informed as they completed their work. Very personable young men. After their completion, the company owner came out to make sure the job was completed to his satisfaction, he had some minor adjustments he thought we needed & the installers came back out & completed those.
