Pediatric Dental Associates came highly recommended. On my daughters first visit, her nervousness gave way to smiles as Drs David and Elise Burrus talked to her about each step of the exam and treatment she would receive. She was made to feel welcome and safe by the staff and the Drs. This was the first time my daughter left a dentists office unafraid to return for future cleanings or treatment. She even commented that the "xrays didn't hurt". I was impressed by the friendly staff and light, open, and airy work areas. They were even willing to recommend options in the area for my husband and myself. Thank you to everyone at Pediatric Dental Associates for making us feel welcome in our new Central Oregon home.

Nothing was really ever fixed I went to another orthodontist who proceeded to ask me who the hell did what they did to my mouth and asked for names and proceeded to tell me what they did was NOT in practice. I was forced back into braces for another 3 years. Over these 3 years I had mentioned this first encounter with braces to many dentists and even oral surgeons all of which had nothing but negative things to say and some of which even had their own similar experiences with them specifically. They all warn of the orthodontists at bluefish and I do as well NOT THE PLACE FOR BRACES JUST ASK AROUND. They are the bottom of the barrel and extremely disrespectful. I had only one bad experience with a cleaning there so as far as that goes I cannot complain. 3 years lots of money down the drain, lots of pain, frustration and all for nothing.

Weeks later I walked out of Bend Family Dentistry on 3rd Street in Bend, my teeth properly cleaned and I'm smiling. I witnessed confident employees who love their jobs. I had decided on dentures after years of pain and she assured me this was something she could do. A full upper was done. She then told me my four front lower teeth had to go and she could make me a lower partial that looked like a retainer. So she extracted those as well. $8500.00 later she out right refused to finish my bottom partial. Her treatment coordinator simply replied to every question I had with " You have been referred to another dentist." Dr. Theda was paid in full for this work both by my insurance and in cash by me. I have no idea why she referred me. My insurance will not pay twice for same procedure and I am left withOUT four bottom front teeth. The office did offer me a refund but it was so little I can not make my mouth whole until I save enough money to pay for the copays at another dentist. However, Dr Grieb was referred to me by a friend, so I had some hope. My visit today was GREAT and I will definitely be going back. The entire team was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient from the pre-appointment call to the end of my visit. I appreciated how they used technology to show me what they were seeing in my mouth. They also used those images to explain to me why they were making the recommendations and decisions they were making for my oral care. The hygienist Patrice was my favorite (no offense Dr Grieb). She kept checking to make sure she was not hurting me but also hurried because I told her I had another appointment I could not miss immediately after my dental appointment. She didn't let me leave until she knew my teeth were clean, but also made sure I got out of the chair in time to get where I needed to be. So I learned a lot, made it to my other important meeting plus my teeth are clean and sparkly too! What more can you ask for from a dental visit?

As much as I didn't want to do that, I felt we had no choice and so I agreed. The appt for anesthesia was more than 2 months out and I was told it would be completely covered with nothing out of pocket. A week before the anesthesia appt, I am told they (anesthesiologists) are collecting a $1100.00 fee because the anesthesiologist is out of network with all insurances. Not one person from Deschutes pediatric dentistry told us or even warned us money may be collected separately. If I was told this 2 months ago when the appointment was scheduled, I could have prepared and saved accordingly. Instead, I'm given a week notice right before Christmas. I'm sure the dentist has $1100 lying around, but I do not. Bad communication, bad training of office staff.

My husband goes to Dr. Burket's office for both dental and primary doctor purposes. He actually switched from Summit because he had a bad experience. Dr. Burket took care of my husband, just as we'd expect from any primary doctor. He got to do bloodwork (which Summit deprived him of and said "Just do it next year"). Well my husband has high cholesterol so we wasted a year when we could've been working on it (no thanks to Summit!). Dr. Burket made sure my husband was taken care of. His dental appointment also went well. Now for my own experience - I had one dental appointment last year in 2021 (and I go elsewhere for my primary doctor). Well I had an appointment this year in January but could not make it so when I canceled, they said the next available appointment was in September. I did not want to wait that long so I moved over to another dental clinic. No hard feelings but I wish they were able to hire more hygienists or something. We still highly recommend this office! They were nice and my cleanings were good. Being on the road I was nervous on going to a new place. What place could be better than a place in LA? Well, a friend in town recommended this place and we called and she worked hard to get me and my husband in before we left. Calls, confirmations, phone calls. I was surprised about the effort considering they were booked months out and no guarantee when we could come back. The day of I got there and they take you on a 3 minute tour and then some paper work. You sit with the dental assistant for a minute with questions and pictures and then this crazy 360 picture. Then the dentist comes in and the exam was the best I have ever had. Not just teeth, my jaw, sinus, some other words. He spent longer than I expected and wasn't hurrying off after 10 minutes. Showed me every picture and explained everything. My current and long term situation. Then the cleaning. They use a water laser something. No scraping, except for like 45 seconds at the end. I left completely happy. Then I got in my car and looked in the mirror and BLOWN, blown away. There wasnt a single stain, and she got everything off. I love tea and soda, teeth staining experts. TMI and a little embarrassing but it keeps me going when I can. I mentioned lite brite to bleach my teet and he waved it off. Didn't try and sell me a thing or sell me a procedure. I will definitely be back. This will be the thing to bring us back to bend. The hygenist even did measurements of my gums and explained where I was with that. I highly recommend this place for their quality of work, facility (they had technology there that my LA dentist didn't have), and how genuine everyone is there. Its refreshing after LA. But the very nice and well-meaning hygienist wanted to help. She asked for a shaker of salt. Someone else in the office said she had one. She then comes over with a test tube of "salt" to put on my tongue to distract me so I wouldn't gag. I was highly suspicious... so I tasted some. It was citric acid. SO acidic it burned. They told me they were going to put a stripe of it on my tongue! So glad I stopped them! Just putting the story here so you can also stop them because wow that would have been awful if I'd just trusted them and had a mouthful of citric acid I expected to be a quick shake of salt. Besides that, I saw Jennifer Montgomery and really liked her. She taught me how to unlock my jaw which no one has ever taught me and I've had jaw issues since childhood. She did a thorough cleaning and didn't diagnose any problems that weren't there which is a huge problem in dentistry. Glad I found someone I can trust!
