I am sad to write thie review. I've used Derry Cycle for years, repairing things on my kid's Honda dirtbikes. I called ahead to have my kid's Honda Odyssey worked on (the buggy, not the car) - it needs tires and a pull cord for the starter, since it broke off. Easy fixes, they said on the phone. I get there, no one from service is there and the "manager" says they wouldn't work on it anyway, take it to a Honda dealer. Thanks for wasting my time. So dissapointing, since they were so awesome maintaining my kid's dirtbikes for years. read more

I went in there today and got what I needed, and the customer service was pleasant. However there were 4-5 employees around the showroom I saw, and not one of them had a mask on when I came in! I'm so frustrated that there are still businesses out there who aren't taking the life-threatening pandemic more seriously; it's discomforting to be in a space like that and I won't be back before the pandemic is over. read more

Forgot to inspect my Raider, and Derry was closer to my house than Mom's where we purchased the 2015 Raider. Stopped in the 1st day to see if they could do one, and was told I was 2 minutes too late to get it done. Come back tomorrow. I asked if they had stickers, since EVO had told me they were out. "Of course, just come by tomorrow by 6" Returned the following day at 5:30. Same guy behind the counter tells me "No, I have no stickers." I reminded him I had been in less than 24 hours earlier. He grins and tells me he must have run out. BS! "You can call tomorrow before you come by and I'll let you know if they came in" Here's a tip. No one will come back after you screw them. You knew the day before you had no stickers, or you were near the end. DISHONEST I sat in the lot googling Motorsport boards and found 'Motor-sport and Tire' on Tinkham Ave, Derry. He stayed open to get me in, did a full inspection while his wife waited for her Birthday dinner. Someone understands how to keep customers as the local shop, and someone else clearly does not. I find Derry Cycle to be overpriced in what they do carry, and for a dealership, they hold next to nothing for stock. Next stop, Yamaha USA to tell them their local dealership is doing the brand 0 favors. They'd rather sell you a ratty HD than a Yamaha. It's all they have in the showroom. We ride. We ride street and dirt. I had heard bad things before, but aside from lack of choice, I'd been ok with them. Now I'm actively telling friends my own experiences too. Good luck. read more

Derry Cycle said our child's 200 cc blaster needed motor rebuilt...$640....they did the work ...1 week later-6 hours of riding and the motor blew...they said no warranties...brought to another mechanic he said the did not properly seed the ring...Derry offered no discount or explanation...rude....front lady tried to stop us from explaining to a rep...prior to that she had tried to sell my 13 yr old a helmet that was to small saying it would stretch out! I came dangerously close to buying a bike from this place. The sales staff lied about items that were traded in with the bike I was interested in, and neglected to mention a serious safety concern with the bike. When I noticed the 1/2" chunk missing out of the secondary drive belt, I was told this was "normal" and would be found "on any bike outside a bar". When one buys a motorcycle from a dealership, they generally expect it it to be in better condition than a bike parked outside of a dive bar. This place preys on uninformed consumers, and people who can't get financing from somewhere better. Steer clear of these clowns. read more

They cannot even change 2 tires in a day. They got my bike and tires at 10 am on Tuesday and at 5:30 Tuesday evening they called and said the rear tire was a bear and we can't finish it today. What is working there trained monkeys? It should take no more than 2.5 hours. read more

Went to see a motorcycle. He said he would figure out the payment. He called me Friday said Congratulations your approved. I said ok when can we come in and sign? He said Saturday 10 am. I said great. I assumed I would sign and drive, that's usually how it works. I got there he said oh no, you sign and we will set up appointment in a week for you to pick up the bike. I will send to the bank for approval. I said you gave me a payment and said Congratulations. How do you do that if the bank hasn't approved the loan? He said oh no it is pending. I said how did you tell me I'm approved when it's just pending. What a sad excuse of a finance manager. He wasted half of my 85 degree Saturday. What a horrible way to do business. I hope he wasted lots of his time working on a was never going to happen deal. I would travel to Nashua or Manchester, NH if you wish to purchase a motorcycle. Sometimes I call there with questions and always feel like they are willing to help me out and take time to explain things to me. The sales team was helpful and courteous. I bought a used 2007 Yamaha V-Star 1300 last Fall from DC, easy purchase and financing. I was out the door with the bike in about an hour and the price was right on point. I was lucky to put on about 300 miles on the bike before it got too cold, but I ended up with a fuel ignition problem that also ruined the exhaust pipe. Well it warmed up enough this week to limp the bike into the shop. They had my bike fixed and back to me the next day. Not only back to good running order, but with a new exhaust pipe to boot, all at no charge! They stand behind what they sell and I along with my three sons will continue to buy, sell and service bikes at this shop. Great job DC! read more

Went there to get a part for my atv, got there Jeff was at the counter looked like he had a bad day with a puss on his face, i felt very uncomfortable I order the part anyways which was the biggest mistake of my life I anxiously waited a week for it( It would have taken 2 days to get here on ebay) I got the part went to put it in and it was faulty went back to exchange it the same day with receipt and He acted as if I was a big deal and wouldn't return it and said he would give me a discount on the part that was $40 and took $4 off I ended up going to plaistow powersports and had nothing but a wonderful experience. read more

Heard some horror stories from some friends but since they are a certified Yamaha dealership i decided to give them a chance. Their selection is very good but they are rude and are willing to lie to make the sale. Was looking to buy my first full helmet. I tried on an XL and it clearly was way to big (would wobble and change position if i moved my neck around.) and he continued to try and convince me it was a fit. And they actually turned my good friend down to put a custom exhaust on his GSXR. Said it was not worth his time. I will never step foot in there again. read more

Yesterday I went to http://derrycycle.com I won't make that mistake again. I needed some stuff done and parts for my 2001 Yamaha Banshee I went in and bought a new front tire, a set of rear brake pads and an air filter. I had them remove the original tire and mount the new one. They had me pay for some items at the parts desk and the service at the service desk. I just signed the receipt, never looked at the amount. I took my parts and returned an hour later to pick up the newly mounted tire. Dude said 25 bucks, said ok, paid him and looked at the receipt, I assumed I already paid for the tire at the parts desk. Later I'm on my way out with my wife and kids. I do not have my wallet or Credit Cards with me. I get call from the service tech Craig saying he needs me to pay for the tire, I say I can't cause I don't have any CC's with me. I try to tell him that I'll take care of it later, but he's very stressed. I can't do anything at this point so I tell him to get in contact later. Soon I get a voice mail from the service tech telling me that he is calling the cops because I knowingly stole the tire from that shop. Nice. It's my fault their bad procedures allowed me walk out of there without paying for the tire. Why do I have to check the receipts to see if they billed me correctly? Next their sales manager Ken calls me on my cell, like I got nothing better to do than talk to these guys on my night out with the family. I tell him I'm upset and that I'd like to talk to his general manager, he says he is the general manager, I say I thought you were the sales manager.... I tell him I'll speak with the owner, he tells me the owner never speaks with anyone. Ken wants me to pay too, but I don't have my CC's... again, they can't seem to comprehend this. I tell him I was offended by the other guys "cop, stole" and that I intend to pay them back I just can't right now. Conversation goes on and Ken tells me that the other guy didn't actually contact the cops and that if the cops do come to my house he'll give me the choice of any ATV in their lot. Well that sounds good to me, can I get that in writing...? He says sure, I say OK, I'm gonna drive back up there now to get the letter. Conversation ends. Ken calls back and tells me that he spoke to the owner and the "free" atv offer is not gonna fly, well, geeze I'm so surprised. So, now I've spent time dealing with these 2 jokers and neither one of them seems to have any credibility, and yet, I'm the criminal. Later I tell Ken I'll go up tomorrow and pay. I don't want to do this over the phone now because I want to be sure I get a receipt. 2pm ish Sunday Jan 24 I arrive at the store. There is a sales dude on the floor, some old dude, some older woman, some parts guy and some guy at the sales desk. I go up to the counter and say can I return these items. They say, you're the tire guy right? I say yes. They say you can't return those items until you pay for the tire. I say why not. They say 'cause I'm just gonna return them and leave without paying for the tire. Why would I drive all the way up there and not pay for the tire? So, now I'm trying to argue with them that I want to do the return first because I feel they will not refund the parts if I pay for the tire. Why should I trust them at this point? 20 minutes of arguing ensues. The old guy keeps butting in telling me how absurd I am. I ask him, are you the owner, he says no, then I say well stay out of it then. He does for a few minutes but then he starts jumping back in on me. The sales guy gets up about 3 times flinging things into the air yelling you're fuckin' ridiculous. The older woman stays calm, but discredits me and continues to go on and on about how bad I am. Perhaps she's the owner? I have no idea why she'd be there otherwise. Finally after about 20 minutes of getting attacked by the old dude, older woman and sales guy I get them to credit the return of the 2 items and I pay them $10.05 to make up the difference on the tire. read more
