I recently had several biopsies taken during a routine skin exam where it was determined necessary. I was never informed during my visit that the lab work (pathology) was not covered under my insurance! Why would they not tell me that the Pathologist checking my biopsies was not an approved Dr under my insurance? When I questioned them after I received a $1,200 bill, they said that "I should have done my research ahead of time."...If you are naked, under lights, with a new Dr and they tell you need a biopsy, do you think I am asking if "the lab takes my insurance?!" I am thinking I might have cancer again. I told them I would be able to make regular $100 per month payments until it was paid off because that is a financial hardship for me at this time. I just received a letter from a collection's agency, how nice of them! PATIENTS BEWARE!

Today, when I arrived for my exam, I was greeted by a receptionist who seemed flustered and running to the door. I asked if she was ok but didn't get a response. Ok, we all have rough days from time-to-time. When she returned, and I handed her my insurance information, she asked if my PCP had referred the appointment. When I said that possibly back the first appointment, but this was a follow-up, and my insurance hadn't changed. She wasn't sure if the practice accepted my insurance (one of the top 3) and then hurriedly tried to reach her manager at another location who wasn't available. She then stated that her "list was old and changes all the time", and that I would have to sign an affidavit and pay out-of-pocket for the visit. A line began to form and significantly increased her aggressive disposition, she asked me to take a seat so that she could help the patient behind me. I did and waited a few minutes when, she proclaimed from the window, that she could help me reschedule but I could not be seen today. Not understanding the confusion as to why the insurance provider (again one of the top 3) was unknown to her, I asked if she was new. She aggressively stated that no, she had been there for some time, and that she "doesn't need to be treated this way". Then, insisted I leave. When I asked why, what did I say? She repeated that she wouldn't be treated this way and that I had no right to ask if she was new. All of this took place in front of other patients. My family and I will be leaving the practice.

Dr Sameer is based out of Mass Eye & Ear, but does some work at Kuchnir (mine was on a Sunday). If I ever need this type of surgery again, I will seek him out even if I have to go to his Boston office. I go to IM as a supplement to my family physician as cookie cutter medicine did not have the answers I needed. My primary care physician was impressed with the testing that Dr. Petteruti performed and really impressed with the results. So much so that I only need to see her once a year. However, I made an appointment for my sister and I and the other nail technician wasn't there yet at the time of our appointment. We had to wait for 20 minutes for her to arrive to start our pedicures. Also, my gel manicure chipped only 2 days later - see picture for chip on index finger. Gel manicures are supposed to last without chipping in 2 days. I'm not sure what happened but they didn't seem like they knew exactly what they were doing when it came to gel. Overall, an OK experience. I got a Groupon so I'm glad I didn't have to pay full price. I did have to pay an additional required $18 for tip though.

She proceeded to interrogate as to why I don't have one and why I do not wear one at all times reminding me that there are variants ( I am a registered nurse of 21 years, I am well educated) I was appalled and taken back at the way she spoke to me, she didn't let up, I proceeded to ask her what she would like me to do? I could leave ? She again began degrading and Insulting me as if I committed a crime. She then rolled her eyes and stated " fill out the paper work , you're the last one here and rolled her eyes at me. Well I began to fill it out and then decided that what this woman has done is not only unprofessional, but unacceptable! I turned around and nicely said " I do not appreciate being treated this way. Keep my deposit I am leaving and will not be returning " I am saddened because I read such good reviews on the business site and would have love to give the doctor my business but I could not get past the abusive behavior I just experienced by a woman who may own this spa. If there was a way to give it zero stars I would * update* I just read the yelp reviews and I'm glad I'm not the only one disgusted in this place, and Thankyou to all who saved me from this hack of a doctor . I am a nurse and I will not let this go. I will make sure everyone I know does not even entertain the idea of being subjected to that cruel woman's abuse.
