Worst place ever!!!!! DO NOT GO THERE!!! Michelle Barnes is NOT A DERMATOLOGIST - extremely hard to believe she even got a d.o. degree!!! Most INCOMPETENT, IRRESPONSIBLE AND IGNORANT "doctor" I could have had the MISFORTUNE of coming cross. Went there in 2008 with PERFECT FACIAL SKIN. I never even knew what hyperpigmentation or melasma were back then - I hardly ever even used make up! At 40 (and looking at least 10 yrs younger bc of my olive skin) I fell pray to her excellent sales person skills (that's what she is - A SALES PERSON - knows NOTHING ABOUT MEDICINE but was always desperate to make a sale, with total disregard to the damage she can cause to a PATIENT'S VERY FACE). I paid $2,500 for a Laser Effects for some tightening of the skin. BEING OF OLIVE SKIN she should know that I'd be highly prone to hyperpigmentation and immediately after hyperpigmentation started, all over my face, and for 8 years now I have been PLAGUED with hyperpigmentation/melasma, having by now spent over 15,000 to correct HER MEDICAL MALPRACTICE to no avail! I've seen the best doctors in town, and have tried ALL possible treatments - even went to Japan and China to buy Korean products as they're known to be the best AND THE SIGNIFICANT DARKENING OF MY SKIN IS PERMANENT. Imagine having PERFECT skin to having to deal DAILY with UNEVEN BROWN BLOTCHES ALL OVER YOUR FACE WHICH ARE IRREVERSIBLE! The last MD I saw, a local Harvard Grad Dermatologist said that the laser went so deep into the dermis that the marks I have in my face are like tattoo - they will never go away and that my face would darken - all true! For 8 years, I have never been to the beach or gone swimming ever again, or gone anywhere w/out loads of the most expensive sunblock, make up, A HAT AND SUNGLASSES EVERY SINGLE DAY - still, my face has only darkened during these past 8 years. The laser was so abrasive that it destroyed my natural protective layer leaving me with an ultra hypersensitive to any source of light FOR I HAVE OLIVE SKIN and she should know that OLIVE, MEDITERRANEAN AND AFRICAN SKIN ARE NOT AT ALL CANDIDATES FOR C02 LASERS. This most ignorant and irresponsible woman, after destroying my face with a laser I was NEVER a candidate for also did a Vi peel, trying to contain the hyperpigmentation she caused me to have - even with the Vi peel - SHE IS SO INCOMPETENT that she specifically told me on the day of the application that, because I seemed to be hyper sensitive she would do the Vi peel in a lighter fashion - HENCE, she did a CHEMICAL PEEL INCORRECTLY, BURNING MY SKIN IN SEVERAL AREAS, IN PARTICULAR IN MY FOREHEAD, as it never peeled, thus leaving me with permanent burn marks to date. I obviously tried to file a complaint v. her but SHE CARRIES NO MALPRACTICE INSURANCE despite being on a fancy clinic in Brickell and charging tons of money TO DESTROY A WOMAN'S FACE! Therefore I was never able to get any payment for my actual disfigurement and my pain and suffering, daily mental anguish and psychological trauma that will last until the day I die for my face was key to my personal and professional success. I obviously do and try my best to cope with it every single day, counting my blessings and covering my skin w/ loads of make up and trying to still maintain a positive outlook on life, thinking of those who even had worse fates. Nonetheless, I FINALLY FOUND THIS SITE SO TO LEAVE A WARNING TO ALL, and to prevent other gullible patients like I was to fall prey to an extremely incompetent doctor who works at DERMACARE yet IS NOT A DERMATOLOGIST and destroyed my face and has caused me SEVERE PAIN for 8 years straight and God only knows for how many more...
