Derek is super fast and skilled! We had a bathroom with lots of tight, tricky spots and a bedroom wall which needed patching and smoothing and he was done in like 3 hours with perfectly smooth walls. Would highly recommend! read more

Derek is a great guy that does solid work. He hung and finished drywall for an entire kitchen remodel. Price was fair based on the scope of work and the final finish was great. No complaints. read more

Derek did a great job with the drywall installation and texturing of our detached garage. In addition he helped me install insulation in walls and ceiling prior to starting the drywall work. He got the whole job completed and paint ready in four days. I am very pleased with the quality of his work and his work ethic. I will use him for other jobs at my house. His quote was very reasonable and I very happy with the final results. I highly recommend Derek for any drywall work you need done right and on schedule. Job well done Derek! read more

We hired Derek after being disappointed by another contractor who redid our hall bathroom. The previous contractor refused to finish up some things like drilling holes in the medicine cabinet (so that shelves could be installed--seems like a pretty basic thing, right?) and moving a decorative shelf that he hung without asking. Derek was great! He asked a lot of questions about where we wanted our shelves positioned, and he actually measured (something our previous contractor neglected to do)! He was able to drill all the holes in the medicine cabinet so that the shelves could be installed (and the cabinet actually used), he removed the decorative shelf, patched the drywall, matched the texture, painted, and then rehung the shelf and added our towel rack. The result looks amazing and the price was super reasonable! I'd definitely hire Derek again! read more

These guys are great! From Hannah who runs the office, to Derek at the pointy end with the drywall :) Communication was always prompt and very pleasant. They are not only professional, but very polite and genuine at the same time. Their quoted price was extremely reasonable and the workmanship impeccable! I had a rental property that had a part of a bathroom ceiling torn out to look for a leak and it was a mess! Derek patched the ragged hole, covering up cabinets and the bathtub area completely beforehand, taped, textured and painted, and it was like it never happened! :) He even caulked sections of the bathtub tile which wasn't in the quote and I totally appreciated that! It's a level of detail and going above and beyond in workmanship that I rarely see in contractors (and I use a lot of them) but now I have my go-to drywall people from now on for smaller jobs like this one to much bigger ones I have coming up read more

My wife found Derek from researching Yelp when our kitchen cabinet installation failed. We realized that our new drywall was not square and level which created downstream problems for our new euro cabinet installation. After speaking to several local companies, we hired Derek to correct the problem. We cannot thank Derek enough for agreeing to take on our small project. Other companies we spoke to did not want to "fix" someone else's mistake but Derek was up to the challenge. He was responsive, showed up on time, quoted a fair price and got the work completed in two days. Plus he has a keen eye for details and imperfections. We are super happy with the finished result and highly recommend Derek. He is my go to person for any drywall work and very happy that I found him. I wish we found him earlier as we would have hired him to smooth our walls on the entire house. Call Derek first, you won't be disappointed. read more

Derek was fast and efficient! Will use him again as our house sits on expansive clay and develops a lot of drywall cracks! I still can't believe I called them on Friday and he was able to come out the next day, a Saturday! Who does that? And the people I have used in the past have still not returned my call for an appointment! read more

Great team and everything done according to estimate! I would highly recommend them for your drywall needs! read more

Straight shooter , on time , price as quoted. Nice repairs , would and will use again. Happy camper read more

Derek is amazing. His team is great and super responsive. He was quick to get an estimate and he showed up early to get the job done. There were a bunch of holes that moisture mitigation made to use fans and dry our ceiling from an incident stemming from the master bedroom flooding. He patched those things fast and got working as soon as he arrived on site. Suuuuuper professional with 30 years of experience. Great guy and team, would definitely recommend for your drywall, and texturing needs! Hire him! read more

We highly recommend Derek Dean Drywall! We needed new drywall throughout our house and had some initial delays in our timeline, but Hannah was really great about checking in and making sure they could accommodate us. Our city inspector is especially picky about the quality of work, and our drywalls passed all inspections smoothly. We had asked for level 4 smooth and felt like it came out as good as a level 5! Overall amazing work and great communication throughout the process. Derek and Hannah promptly addressed any issues or questions along the way. Will definitely work with them again! :) read more

We had an unfortunate experience with Derek Dean and you should look elsewhere to drywall repair and installation. We paid Derek and his assistant $1500 to patch 12 spots on our walls where electricians left holes from their work. We agreed he would get the walls "paint ready" (i.e., we didn't need to do anything but paint the walls after he was done). The patches were all smaller than 3 feet by 3 feet. At first, we were encouraged by Derek's ability to schedule us the same week. But, once the work started, we became concerned. Derek and his assistant rushed the job and "finished" by lunchtime. Derek said to call if we had issues and there were at least two patches that definitely needed another pass. I also ended up doing a lot of heavy sanding and wall prep for painting the other patches. We called and texted Derek several times. Occasionally he responded and would schedule time to make the fix, but he NEVER showed up. It's been several months and we are now moving on to paying someone else to fix his work. read more

Derek and his crew just finished the insulation and drywall of our entire house. The result is amazing! Our house is an older fixer upper, and the walls were uneven and hard to work with, I had no idea they could look this good! Derek is reliable, honest, and hardworking. His work is beautiful, and Hannah (she handles office matters) was easy to work with as well. Overall, a great experience and I highly recommend Derek if you want the job done right. read more

If 6 stars existed, we would give Derek Dean Drywall a 6 star rating, hands down! We hired Derek Dean Drywall to drywall our whole garage and they did a phenomenal job! Not only was he and his team professional, respectful, punctual but also was very honest. Not many contractors in our experience are upfront and true to their words and Derek Dean proved us wrong. If Derek was not able to do something, then he will tell you and be very upfront about it. He would also work with you on your requests and provide some collaborative ideas/suggestions, showcasing his expertise. We had to delay the project for a few months since we were waiting for our new garage door to be made/delivered/installed. During the waiting period, Derek/Hannah were very patient and proactive in checking in with us on the status and scheduling. When we needed them to start the job earlier than scheduled, they were very flexible, working with us around the timing of the garage door installation and the electrician. The team worked very efficiently, cleaned up after themselves and continuously communicated what they were going to do each day. We truly feel Derek and Hannah are one of the hardest working contractors in town. Hannah was amazing and professional, always responsive and pleasant to work with. Derek would always be there early and would work through the weekends. Hannah did not miss a beat in responding to my messages. If things were not done right, Derek would not hesitate to roll up his sleeves and do it himself. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work and wants to make sure his customers are satisfied before accepting payment. Yes, I said "before accepting payment!" We had a last minute emergency and had to leave town before the work was completed. While we offered to pay Derek Dean a portion of the completed work, he was very understanding of our situation and did not want to accept payment until the project was completed and we had the final walk thru. That is just a testament to how much he values his customers' satisfaction and quality of his craftsmanship! There's no question we would hire Derek Dean again and in a heartbeat, he would be on top of our list to recommend to friends, family and anyone who needs some affordable drywall done! If this is you, then you need to hire Derek Dean and Team! read more

The guys came out to give an estimate - they were fast, professional and did a great job clearly outlining all the work required in the estimate as well as how much it would cost. They were careful and thorough with reviewing the work to ensure there would be no hidden costs upfront! read more

Derek and his team have been a pleasure to work with! They're responsive, on time, considerate, and very thorough. They genuinely seem to care about doing a good job and not trashing your house. We had ugly knock down texture and went to smooth wall. The quality of their work is exceptional. We felt the price was more than fair but if you've found someone cheaper, you will likely get what you pay for and regret taking the cheaper option. Unfortunately we found Derek when over half of our home had been completed, his work is obviously far superior to the first half. Last thing, this is messy work! These guys are the cleanest we've ever worked with and we've had a good number across many types of projects. If we ever need more drywall work, we know exactly who we'll come to! I truly can't recommend them enough. read more

Derek Dean Drywall was referred to us when our drywall company wasn't able to come out and drywall our ADU when originally scheduled. We had already scheduled our painting and floor install so we were in a tight spot and DDD totally came to our rescue. They were able to come out right away to take a look at the structure and get their team moving the following day. Wayne and Robert were super friendly and respectable and they were able to complete everything on time which saved us from having to reschedule our other crews. The work was great quality and I would not hesitate to recommend them!! read more

We needed several areas in our house retextured due to some HVAC/furnace work that had been done. Derek and his brother came and did a great job. Derek is very intent on you getting the job to your specs and so we worked through the level of texture until he got it just right. Really appreciate his attitude and seeing the job through to the end. Everyone was happy. read more

We had water damage to my son's room that resulted in half a wall getting ripped out. I called Derek on a Monday, had a very nice email conversation with Hannah, and he and his team were at my house the same week! They were super fast and clean, the wall literally looks like nothing ever happened! They even did the texture exactly the same as the old walls. I'm so so happy to have my baby's room back to normal so quickly. Thank you!!!!! read more

Derek helped me to patch the wall and ceiling (total 14 holes) after plumbing re-route. The place was a mess, but Derek assured me that everything would look great. They patched the holes, matched the texture, and painted them. Derek was very responsive and very upfront about what he could or could not do. The plumber also cut out the exterior wall, and I could not find anyone to repair it. Rain was coming, and I was concerned about rodents, so Derek did a big favor and helped to cover the wall using the existing wood panel. I am so grateful for that. Derek and his team go above and beyond and did an awesome job. Hannah is amazing and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Derek and his team to anyone who needs drywall repair. read more
