This bar is what I'd hoped it would be! It's got a pool table and seating all around plus TVs to watch sports. There's karaoke I think every night which I'm not always in the mood for but we take that into consideration when we go. The Karaoke hosts are good and they double as DJ when nobody is singing. There is also a dance floor. Kaitlyn is a really good bartender and is the only one we've seen since we go on the weekend and I think that's her usual schedule. We want to try a comedy night here too. The food is pretty good too since the place is really more of a bar first rather than a restaurant. Good finger foods and sandwiches but they have a decent menu with lots to choose from. Also I want to mention that some "dive bars" feel unsafe to me but this place does not. I've been gong there now for two of three years. Great music, karaoke, comedy, bands, visits, staff and patrons. I love the pool tables in the afternoon. Yes, it's great to visit yet be Covid safe. I came here and I admit I am a super clutz but there was something wrong here.... I spent 65$ on 3 drinks and only got to drink maybe half of a small watered down drink... I ended up spilling 2 drinks and they where very rude and yeah 65$ and not even a tiny buzz.. and no I was not drunk when I came or anything. I got 2 madori sours and 1 strawberry daiquiri. Even if I didnt spill them and got to drink them i would have been unhappy with this price. Never coming back here. Also I don't like the type of people that have been known to show up here. What can I say about This Bar other than I am really confused. I went there for a little karaoke and a pint at 7pm Sunday night. The venue which is connected to a Bowling alley and Skating rink is a little hard to find and even though it has has a sign on Hemet's main drag but it wasn't lit. If their intention was to hide the place , well done them! Derby's the bar was almost empty which I expected, figuring if I had problems finding it someone stumbling in wasn't likely and being early on a post football Sunday night it was not going to be an SRO crowd. I went in and they had Karaoke and about 6 people I was thrilled thinking cool short rotation ! What I soon found was the K J was not only a terrible K J he had no grasp of how to do a show or operate his equipment (reverb does not fall into the realm or Brain Surgery it's the middle knob next to volume). With a minuscule 4 person rotation it was 40 minutes before I got the Mic. The host just gave me a blank stare when I requested a Phil Collins song so I tried James Taylor no Luck, Paul Simon he gave me a look like I was panhandling and wanted money ! I finally did a Billy Joel song. The Bartender was as disinterested as the K J got me my drink and ran off to talk with her friends. As for the crowd the average age of the customers was between 75 and almost dead. I get on well with people but no one there seemed to be anything miserable and didn't want to talk about. Promptly at 9PM they closed the karaoke down and I got the impression the bar was soon to follow. I was both annoyed and relieved that I still had time to find someplace to go. So I'm confused. Derby's has possibilities and could be a jumping place but when I was there there was more amusement in the Parking Lot and at the moment it really does not scream come back. read more

I found Derbys on bar rescue, my wife and I are avid Bard Rescue fans. We were excited that a bar within a mile of our home was being featured. We tried to get in the night of taping but it was a madhouse. Jesse clearly has some fans. We decided to come back a few days after the episode aired so the fanfare would calm down. We were immediately greeted by Rob, the bar manager. The staff was all very friendly, the place was very clean and neat, and the bathrooms were immaculate! So Derby's Bar & Grill was on Bar Rescue as we all know, here's what I think now. It has went for the bar with the "dive bar feel" to it to a bar with a Roller Derby theme which is well done. Even the bartenders have uniforms now that fit the theme! It still has some of the same events as before (karaoke, live music, and dj's) which is nice but what really impressed me was the new menu. I'm an avid bar fly and I love good food! They now have a menu that features two flat bread sandwiches and two beers for less than $10.00! That's an amazing deal and the sandwiches are so good! I love the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and the Italian Stallion personally. Also, they took their "high baller" drink menu and turned it into a list of signature drinks, which includes my personal favorite (Jesse's Jumpstart!). Basically what I'm saying is this, if you haven't checked it out since Bar Rescue was there, you're missing out. Between the drinks and the food this bar has definitely been elevated about other bars in town. And when you do go down there, show my bartenders, Katelyn, Stephanie, and Ashley some love me! We ordered 5 Classic Phily steak sandwiches and that seemed a little bit of a shock to the Bartender . We were wanting these to go. I paid for them and she sent the order back to wherever they were going to be made. A few minutes later out through a door came a lady in a white and black striped shirt yelling the word FIVE are you kidding? The bartender rushed over to shut her down because we were sitting in the bar area. Then after that the wait came on. We waited for over 45 minutes to get those 5 really burnt small sandwiches, and I really mean burnt. They even delivered them in a soda carrier. Derbys Comedy Night was great! We sat in the front row and waited an hour for our drinks, we finally got them when the comedian put the staff on blast which I thought was hilarious.
