We've had them out twice now, with excellent service both times. The first repair was for our refrigerator, which as it turned out just needed some thorough cleaning. The second repair was our 20-year-old dishwasher, which had a "heavy" door likely due to broken spring. I took the initiative to order spare parts for the spring and associated cable, and Freddy used both to do the repair. That way only one service visit was required. They do a good job of letting you know when they are coming via text message, and the tech has a credit card machine for you to do an easy payment when the work is complete. We noticed our refrigerator stopped cooling on a Friday morning (close to Thanksgiving :(( , we were desperate and called Affordable Appliance Repair at #5208916004. Luckily, so we thought, they were able to send a so called technician. He arrived the same day at 4. He opened the fridge/freezer, called and started speaking to someone in his native tongue and never bothered to move the appliance to check the back of it for any freon issues. After 10 minutes or so, he said our fridge needed freon but he did not have a license for it. He handed us a Service Order/Bill which stated the problem and who to call for freon. Mind you, this is late Friday afternoon. The technition said he fixed the fridge to work for a day and to make sure to call Dain at 520....... We called and spoke to Dain and informed him of what the technition had said, he said he would be here tomorrow (Saturday), we gave him our address and hung up. Luckily, our fridge continued to function. On Saturday around 12, we decided to give Dain a call to see what time he would be coming over and to our surprise, he had no idea who we were and didn't remember our phone conversation!!! Long story, Dain said if our refrigerator/freezer was working up to now, he stated it was not a freon issue and he did not need to come fix it. Days pass and now its Thanksgiving day and we went out of town for the weekend. We came back on Sunday and sure enough, our worst fear came true. All our food was warm! HARDLY DEPENDABLE! My sub zero wine frog was leaking air and the door was crooked; therefore the gasket was not sealing the cool air. We called. made appointment, and the repairman came and would not pull out the unit, since he didn't want to be responsible for damage. He fiddled with the door, constantly changing bits on his tool. He then told us he would order a gasket. Never did he say the door could not be fixed. We waited several weeks for the gasket. (and expected the delay with today's situation.) We initiated a call, were told the part was in and scheduled another appointment. On that day the repairman was ill and we would have to reschedule and they would call. They didn't and we had to initiate another call and set up another appointment. But we were told I would have to remove the frig from under the counter. I AM 83, but I managed to do it rather easiily. He came on Thursday and fiddled with the same tool on the door (actually asked me if I had a tool part.) I gave him what I had from my Sharper Image took kit. LOL He proceed to remove the old gasket. replace it with the new one and then said I can't realign the door. I asked, Will it still leak?" He said, "Maybe. I told you i couldn't fix the door." My wife said we would not pay him, since it wasn't fixed. He angrily grabbed his tools and stormed out tell us not to call them again. August 7, 2018: between 9a -11a. Dominic service tech. Called yesterday, their schedule was tight but they said today 9-11. Dominic right on time, he called ahead but I missed the call. Our fridge is a LG French Door lower freezer in an RV. Very tight fit. We always wondered if we could get it serviced. Dominic was patient. I was able to move it about 4 inches inside giving him access to the panel. He checked all, everything was good. We did have a power surge about 5 days ago. Apparently this caused a board hiccup which reset itself. For 3 days fridge was in the 60's. Late yesterday it started working again but we had tech (Dominic) come out anyway to check it out. Sunday September 22, 2019 The dish washer purchased with all new kitchen appliances 6/2015 started to turn on/off (I was not using it at the time), and made burning smell, I unplugged the machine. Monday September 23, my Mom Had to call and make an appointment, I teach History (public school). Dora (CSR) appointment set: Friday September 27, dish washer repair (Dominic) choice 1 repair Control panel, choice 2 pay for $75.00 service call. Dominic explained the dish washer would work, like new 100% Friday October 4, early dismissal workers at school grade day i met Dominic, 12:15 PM, and he said the dishwasher would work like new. He turned it on for 1 minute. "If there is a problem, we will make you happy) Sunday October 13, I use the dish washer, and the display did not show, (count down button counting down, and cycle lights going there each segment). Monday October `14 My Mom calls, Dora, Dependable, and appointment. Friday, October 21, My Mom meets with Dominic. He sees why is NOT working. "There is nothing we could do about it". This is not what was promised, working like new. The count down for minutes DOES NOT WORK, and the cycle button display, and CD. It is like driving a car and the display of how much gas is left does not work. The minutes, and cycles on this more expensive dish washer, stainless steal, no longer works. Maybe it is a defective part, maybe Dominic dropped the part and damaged it. My Mothers has the same exact dishwasher, and the count down works, and display, CD all works. Yet, after Dominic got down with my machines these features, no longer works. "It will work, like new" not true. It is in a dispute with the credit card company. You know, caveat emptor, let the customer beware. I should have been told the display will not, or may not work. I was told "the dishwasher will work like new". This is not true. If I had known the upgrade count down, and the cycle display would not work I would have paid the service call of $75.00, and purchased a new dishwasher with those features brand new. It is now in the hands of visa to credit me on a repair that was not what was promised. I just wish the dishwasher was fixed in a way that "Dominic had promised". The dishwasher is only 4 years old, and I use it perhaps 6 times a year at the most, I am single with my cat. Maybe when the Dominic said "wow I have never seen so much burn on a control panel" he should have said other things could have been damaged too., and I can not repair it now. He did go threw with the repair, yet it is not 100% functioning. So, the dispute goes on, I faxed in the additional info I trusted in Dependable Refrigeration the did not complete the repair, and the will NOT do anything else for me. The also were not correct about the repair being complete (to there credit card) NO COUNT DOWN BUTTON, DISPLAY CYCLE DOES NOT FUNCTION RIGHT. Regardless of outcome of Visa verdict, i may bring them to small claims court. I will discuss this with my family and attorney. read more

Travis, the Dependable Refrigeration tech, arrived on time and did the repair work on our old refrigerator/freezer quickly, efficiently and professionally. The fridge had been running continuously and the compressor never stopped. Thus the fridge had been consuming far too much electricity. Travis checked the compressor and coolant and determined that they were not the problem. The culprit was a faulty gasket on the refrigerator door that was leaking cold air into the room. He was able to reshape the old gasket using a heat gun to fix it without requiring an expensive gasket replacement. While he was at it, it realigned the freezer and fridge door hinges and checked the cooling coils beneath the freezer floor. Total cost (with a $15 discount from Angie's List) was $85. We're VERY happy with the work that was done. We recommend them highly. read more

My Samsung refrigerator stopped working, we called Dependable they came out and fixed the problem, great! I found a reliable repair company. But, when my Samsung dishwasher stopped working correctly I called Dependable to fix it. The repairman broke a part and he replaced it a week later at no charge because he broke it. That was honest I appreciated that. It didn't fix the problem. He needed to replace a geared motor, he said he would order it be back next week. The office called me a week later and told me to call Samsung about the motor. For some inexplicable reason they weren't coming back to repair my dishwasher, so I did some troubleshooting and found the motor on Amazon. Received the motor two days later and repaired it myself. We wasted a month waiting to get a repair. They lost a customer. I won't be calling them anytime soon. read more

Sigh... it seems to be so hard finding a decent company that is honest, fair and good over the long term... I seem to be able to find stores/ businesses/ companies that I can hire once or twice, but not someone who is good with good customer service and reliable on a consistent long term basis. The first time I hired these guys I was happy with their service. So I hired them again... What fellow yelper Carrie said about the woman on the phone at this company is entirely true. I had this experience with the receptionist the first time I called them but decided to let it go in case she was just having a bad day or something, however the second time I called them, her annoying attitude was extremely unhelpful and turned out to be a big headache. We had a small problem and when I was trying to talk to her and solve it, she just kept blaming me for everything and was extremely rude instead of trying to find a solution along with me (their customer). What customer wants to get yelled at by the receptionist from a company they've hired? I certainly didn't. The lady on the phone had no patience, kept interrupting me, and seemed to just want to argue instead of dealing with things responsibly and to solve the problem efficiently and effectively. I kept trying to talk to her but she was totally unreasonable, kept blaming me for things, raising her voice, and being rude overall. The serviceman I talked to over the phone was rude to me also and seemed to have the same opinion of "let's argue instead of being reasonable, discussing the issue, and solving the problem". So... the second time I hired this company was the last time I will ever hire them again. Their customer service is really lacking and they really, really need to work on how to help their customers and work with their customers when there is a small problem instead of blaming them or yelling at them over the phone. Just not good customer service or business sense at all. I just don't understand why companies and businesses treat their customers so poorly. However, that being said, I did give them 2 stars because both times they were able to come out in a good time frame and their prices were decent. But I only recommend these guys if you like being talked down to, get interrupted constantly, yelled at, or blamed if any little thing goes wrong. They answered the phone, returned my calls promptly, attempted to diagnose and prepare a solution prior to coming and came out and did an awesome job repairing the appliance. I would not recommend Dependable Refrigeration. First appt. June 28, tech came and found that the compressor was bad in the LP refrigerator. He said he sees this failure every week. He left me with some options. I called later that day and asked that they repair the unit. They said they would order the part and schedule repair. They would call me early next week with the plan. By Wed. I had not heard from them, I called them. She said she would look into it and call me back. She called and said the compressor was on back and could take two weeks, "Did I still want to repair the unit". I don't know whether the order was already placed. I said I wanted to proceed. By July 12th I still hadn't heard from them, so I called. She did not know the status but would call me back. 4 hours later she called back and said that they would be out in a week (July 19). The tech came out that day - oops - wrong compressor. The tech said he was unable to locate a compressor. I bought a new refrigerator. read more

The company was easy to work with. Our refrigerator broke on a Sunday morning. I was able to get a hold of them and talk to them about a rough estimate on fixing the problem. They gave me a ballpark that the actual amount comfortably fit into. They were here first thing 8:30am Monday morning (I told them it wasn't a rush), and had it fixed in less than 45 minutes. Something else also went wrong while the technician was here that was related, and an extra fuse had to be replaced, but the technician did not up the quote he had given me to fix the problem. I had a emergency with my dishwasher leaking all over the floor, I was driving in from the airport from phx and my wife was calling me quite upset! I called 5 different companies while I was driving into tucson and none of them except dependable would respond for service. They all said it was too late or I reached the voicemail because they were closed. It was later in the evening (around 6pm) but dependable came and fixed the problem! They came out to fix my refrigerator and told me it needed a gasket. They would order it and let me know when it arrived. After 2 months, it still hadn't "arrived". When it suddenly arrived, it was wrong...so now....3 months and waiting...they've had to order a new gasket. It's a specialty fridge so I need people who deal with that brand. The tech called my cell phone to tell me he was leaving his last appointment. I missed the call and called him back (10 minutes later) and left him a message and waited.... I finally called the office and was told that since I missed the call the technician skipped me and I had to reschedule!
