The hospital case manager recommended Home Instead when he saw my stress as we were trying to figure out who would care for mom when we couldn't be there. I scoured every website and checked other places out, but no reviews compared to the across the board positive reviews for Home Instead. Still skeptical that any place could be that good, I gave them a call. Every single interaction with them was professional, responsive, and thorough. The team assigned to mom was first rate: they helped her on her walks (mom was a significant fall risk), with showers, meals, chores around the house, transported her to a doctor appointment, reminded her to take her meds, etc. When we asked to change the schedule because of various other doctor appointments, they were flexible and understanding. Most of all, we really needed folks we could TRUST and Home Instead exceeded our expectations. The owners and staff at Home Instead should be beyond proud of the service they deliver -- in my view the gold star standard that other custodial care businesses should try and achieve. I'm so thankful Home Instead was there for us in our time of need. Because of Home Instead, we had piece of mind. Thankfully, mom is now able to be much more independent than the weeks following surgery. I believe that Home Instead aided the healing process and recommend them without a single reservation. Our mom was declining fast and complained constantly about horrible treatment at the Bartlett after the manager, Beverly (who was incredible) left. So, we moved her to the Good Samaritan under April's management and our mom thrived. Every care taker in the unit is special and they treated my Mom with dignity and respect and took loving care of her. Especially, Rose. That woman is an absolute saint and is a loving, thoughtful and professional caregiver. The facility was always clean and fresh and our Mother's room and bathroom was also kept orderly and clean. The Nurse that visits weekly was very communicative after each weekly check up. (We never heard any reports or evaluations from the Bartlett. The facility helped arrange hospice care in less than a day. After that, any medical supplies, wheel chairs, anything they covered was provided immediately upon request. Norma in particular was a bright light for our mom. I've read the other reviews here about the Good Samaritan but we had none of those negative experiences. If you have a loved one who qualifies for memory care and April's unit you, and your loved one, will be happy you placed them in the Good Samaritans care.

They won't tell you about last year, when their water sprinklers ran for 24 hours, and when called, they claimed they don't have a maintenance crew, after not answering the phone for hours.
